Welcome to our Macro Guide for PaladinPaladin where you will find out what the best macros are for your Paladin in Mists of Pandaria Classic.

1.

Paladin Macros in Mists of Pandaria

This guide focused on showing some examples of some useful Macros on your Paladin and how they function. A macro is a series of commands put into a text box to execute multiple actions either simultaneously or sequentially depending on how the ability/item functions.

2.

General Macros

  • Start Auto Attack
  • /cast Crusader Strike

This is an especially useful macro as a Paladin as there is rarely ever a situation where you do not want to be auto-attacking while in combat. It is recommended to make a second version of this macro featuring Hammer of the Righteous Icon Hammer of the Righteous instead of Crusader Strike Icon Crusader Strike for situations you are fighting multiple enemies.

  • Focus Rebuke:
  • #showtooltip Rebuke
  • /cast [@focus] Rebuke

This macro allows you to cast your Interrupt Rebuke Icon Rebuke on your focus target as opposed to your primary target. Keep in mind that Rebuke is only able to be used in Melee range so while this is a great tool you to maintain your target you do still need to be aware of your distance from your current focus target.

  • DPS cooldowns:
  • #showtooltip Avenging Wrath
  • /cast Avenging Wrath
  • /cast Holy Avenger

This macro assumes you are talented into Holy Avenger Icon Holy Avenger. Pairing these two cooldowns together not only greatly increases your damage/healing done but also your Holy Power generation. As a DPS it is almost always correct to pair these two but as Holy or Protection you will need to think a bit more on if you really needed the extra throughput provided or if it may just be overkill.

  • Cancel Divine Shield:
  • #showtooltip Divine Shield
  • /stopcasting
  • /cast Divine Shield
  • /cancelaura Divine Shield

This macro will cast your Divine Shield Icon Divine Shield and then instantly cancel it. While not typically the best use as we immediately lose the immunity portion of the ability it can be very useful especially when tanking to quickly remove a debuff or mitigate a single large instance of damage. It is important to note that outside of a brief few seconds when Reckoning Icon Reckoning is cast you will not be able to hold threat while Divine Shield is active.

  • Mouse Overs
  • /cast [@mouseover] Holy Shock

A mouse over macro causes your ability to be cast on the target you currently have your cursor over as opposed to the target you currently have targeted. Even with less of an emphasis on auto-attack as Holy due to changes with Seal of Insight Icon Seal of Insight being able to heal or use an ability like Hand of Protection Icon Hand of Protection while still auto-attacking can be very beneficial. You can replace Holy Shock here with any of your heals or abilities that can be cast on other players making this feature incredibly useful for all three Paladin specializations.

3.

Paladin Addons

Macros are very important in making your character play as smoothly as possible, but so do addons, for which reason we recommend that you also read our Paladin Addons page.
