Seregios Introduction
Seregios is a fierce Flying Wyvern known for its golden, scale-covered body and aggressive aerial attacks. Native to dry, rocky regions, it hurls sharp scales at hunters mid-flight and uses them to inflict bleeding. When enraged, its scales stand on end, increasing its damage and ferocity. Seregios is also famous for its unique ability to heal itself slightly by rolling, making battles with it fast-paced and unforgiving.

Seregios Combat Guide
Seregios is most commonly found in desert environments, so naturally, you’ll encounter him roaming the Windward Plains. Originally introduced as the flagship monster of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, he later returned in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Now, he makes his long-awaited debut in Monster Hunter Wilds as part of the game’s second free Title Update, released on June 30th, 2025.
Seregios behaves much like a bird of prey, think eagle or falcon soaring through the skies and diving with brutal force to strike with his razor-sharp talons. His attacks are fast and relentless, so you’ll need to stay sharp at all times. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with this guide, as always. Let’s dive in.
Before you can hunt him, you’ll need to reach Hunter Rank 31 and complete the main quest “A World Upside Down.” Once that’s done, you’ll unlock a new quest in the Windward Plains titled “Clear With a Chance of Sandstorm.” In it, you’re tasked with rescuing a group of children who’ve wandered into danger right into Seregios’s territory.
Later on, once you hit Hunter Rank 40 and complete the main quest “What Lies Ahead,” a Tempered version of Seregios will become available for an even greater challenge.
Let’s go over Seregio’s strengths, weaknesses and then his attack moves and how to fight him. Make sure to bring an Ice or Thunder elemental weapon with you if you are wanting to go for the fastest kill time or just optimal damage in general. He is mostly weak to poison, sleep, and blast. He can easily be stunned as well but the paralysis status effect is not that effective. Everything can be used against him as well including flash pods, shock traps and pitfall traps with the only exception being sonic bombs which are completely useless.
Alright, let’s go over Seregios’s moveset and how to deal with him effectively. Depending on your skill with offset attacks and counters, Seregios can either be a tough challenge or a fairly manageable hunt. If you’re confident with the Hammer or an experienced Long Sword user, this fight should be both fun and satisfying. Otherwise… get ready for some pain.
One of his most frequent and dangerous moves involves sliding across the ground with his talons, aiming to strike whatever is in front of him. He often chains this attack multiple times, and if you’re not careful, he can combo you into oblivion. The best way to handle this is to offset, dodge sideways if your reflexes are quick enough, counter, or guard depending on your weapon of choice.
If you find yourself directly beneath him, he’ll attempt to kick you repeatedly with his talons. While these kicks don’t deal a ton of raw damage, they build up the Bleed status, which will slowly chip away at your health. To remove Bleed, find a safe spot, crouch, and remain still for a few seconds until it wears off.
Seregios also has a nasty habit of firing sharp, scale-like projectiles commonly referred to as “pinecones.” He can shoot them from the front, or even launch them from his tail if you’re behind him. These don’t deal heavy damage individually, but repeated hits will also cause Bleed. You can’t offset this move, so your best bet is to run away or stay out of his line of fire.
And here’s a bonus tip: Seregios’s tail can be severed, which not only nets you extra crafting materials, but also prevents him from launching pinecones from behind. Just be cautious he still has a tail swipe attack that can catch you off-guard if you’re too eager to cut his tail off.
Enraged State
When Seregios becomes enraged, his attack speed ramps up significantly, and his hits deal a lot more damage. The Tempered version of Seregios is especially challenging—not only does he hit harder, but he’s much less predictable and doesn’t stay still for long.
Many hunters have noted that fighting Tempered Seregios while enraged can be particularly rough if you're using slower weapons like the Hammer or Greatsword. So if you're bringing one of those, be prepared for a tougher fight—and play cautiously. Outside of his increased aggression and speed, his overall moveset remains mostly the same, but your margin for error is drastically reduced.
To make things easier, I highly recommend bringing Flashpods. Use them whenever he’s airborne to knock him out of the sky and open up attack opportunities. It’s also a good idea to bring Lure Pods to bait him into environmental traps like boulders or ledges that can deal significant damage or stagger him.
Finally, consider capturing him instead of slaying. Capturing is often safer, especially when he's low on health and you're down a cart or two. It reduces the risk of dying in the final stretch and lets you wrap up the quest with less stress.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Seregios is a fun and rewarding fight—once you understand his patterns and learn how to take advantage of openings using offset moves from weapons like the Hammer, Greatsword, and others. His attacks are predictable once you’ve faced him a few times, and timing your dodges or counters can make the hunt feel smooth and satisfying.
If you're new to the game or encountering Seregios for the first time, then you might feel a bit overwhelmed, especially with his relentless sliding kick spam. But don’t let that discourage you, stick with it. After a few hunts, you'll start to read his movements like a book.
Make good use of environmental traps, Flashpods, and whatever tools you have at your disposal. Stick to the plan, rinse and repeat and before long, you’ll be standing over one very dead desert falcon.
