How do you Participate in Soul of Steel: Golden Bond Event?
In order to participate in Soul of Steel: Golden Bond event you need to reach Inter-Knot Level 15, complete Agent Story Mole in the Hole I, as well as unlock the Brant Street Construction Site during the Main Story Chapter 2 A Call From the Hollow's Heart. You also need to complete Anton Ivanov and Grace Howard's commissions.
What is Soul of Steel: Golden Bond Event About?
In Soul of Steel: Golden Bond Event you will have to help out Grace Howard with her new plan to build a massive mecha! Your role? Control it! If you ever dreamed of driving a huge Mecha, now is your chance!
Head to Sixth Street and talk to Anton Ivanov next to Howl's News Stand! He will teleport you to the construction site. Once there, talk to the nearby Agents.
Grace is having trouble with some her Mechs, and she needs the Proxy and Eous to help out! It is best to not question why Nicole Demara and Billy Kid are here.
The goal is to let Eous enter the mech's cockpit to bypass the defense protocols. Meanwhile the Proxy will use the external cockpit to establish a link and take control of the Mech.
Once the big dialogue is over, talk to Grace and get started. You will have access to a menu where you can select the first mission.

Origins Mode
The first stage, The Golden Mecha Rises, will be a training stage with 4 Mech battles, including one end boss.

After selecting the stage, you will notice a thumbs up on the recommended modules. Pick one of those. We recommand the Brawl module first. The flight one allows you to dodge easier, but you don't need it for the first stage.
Once you pick your module, you can also add additional abilities, if you have Loadout Capacity space. This is indicated by the the small symbol on the left on the following image where it says "available space".

You can then pick the attack you want. The first time you can choose you are forced to pick the Gale Kick. Once you know what you want, click modify, and deploy.
Once you validate, you enter the stage. You officially control a Mecha! The stages are nothing complicated. You just have to defeat the other Mecha. You can:
- Press to launch a punch
- Press to ground stomp
- Hold to charge kick
- Press the Cog Wheel (R on Keyboard and B/Circle on Controller) to enter Ranged Mode
- Press to dodge
- Hold to enter jet movement mode, allowing you to be faster. This mode consumed Spray Fuel, which regenerates over time when it's not used
When you hit an enemy with any attack you accumulate Heat. Once it's full, your next Basic Attack Punch will deal massive DMG.
You can also aim with pressing the little cog wheel attack to launch your fist, entering a sort of Ranged Mode. If you press the same button again you recall your fist and return to Melee mode. When Heat is full, this attack also deals increased DMG.

The Mech can be a bit clunky to control, especially on controller, but you rapidly unlock enough Loadout space to take additional abilities, which makes it easier. As the stages progress, Flight Mode is really useful and gives you more mobility.
Ashes Mode
Once you cleared the first Origins Stage, you unlock Ashes. In this mode you cannot re-spawn if your mecha dies. You have to fight bigger bosses, but the rest functions the same as the Origins mode. Flight Mode (or later on when you unlock Armor Module) is better here, as you will greatly benefit from the Dodge ameliorations against the tougher enemies. Don't hesitate to upgrade the Flight mode and Dodge, as it will really help you easily evade enemies attack, make the robot less clunky, and deal more damage right after you dodged and the time slows down.
