The Basics of Stats for Feral Druids

Welcome to our Stat Priority page for Feral Druid in the Midnight expansion! Here we'll quickly be going over the stats you should aim for on gear, alongside any special considerations depending on your build.

While there's no significant changes between single-target and AoE, Feral has some slight differences depending on your chosen Hero Talent. These differences are minor though, and you can often get away with using one gearset between them.

Druid of the Claw Feral Druid Stat Priority

Druid of the Claw generally has the following stat priority:

  1. Agility
  2. Mastery
  3. Haste = Critical Strike
  4. Critical Strike

In Midnight, Agility is more valuable once again now that stats have been squished, so choosing items based on item-level is advised.

Mastery remains your top priority stat to amplify finishers, a key focus for Druid of the Claw.

Haste is second, needed to smooth out some resource concerns and hunt for additional Ravage Icon Ravage procs, with Critical Strike very close behind for extra Combo Points through Primal Fury Icon Primal Fury.

Versatility falls to the bottom of the pile with no special interactions, though does come with some defensive benefits and shouldn't be completely neglected.

Wildstalker Feral Druid Stat Priority

Wildstalker generally has the following stat priority:

  1. Agility
  2. Mastery
  3. Haste
  4. Critical Strike
  5. Versatility

In Midnight, Agility is more valuable once again now that stats have been squished, so choosing items based on item-level is advised.

Mastery remains your top priority stat to amplify finishers and Bleeds, the core of Wildstalker's damage toolkit. Haste is very close behind to increase Energy generation and Bleed tick rate.

Critical Strike provides extra Combo Points to cycle finishers, but it slightly less valuable relative to other picks. Versatility comes in last with no unique interactions, though provides some defensive benefits and shouldn't be completely neglected.

2.

Diminishing Returns on Stats

Every secondary stat has a limit where they will begin to offer less increase per point gained, which are known as the points of diminishing return. Once you have reached these amounts, stats will become progressively less valuable and may fall behind other options. The current breakpoints are:

  • Critical Strike - 1380 Rating
  • Haste - 1320 Rating
  • Versatility - 1620 Rating
  • Mastery - 1380 Rating

While reaching these breakpoints doesn't make a stat immediately bad, you should keep them in mind when looking at gear upgrades or if you think your sim results are unusual. Often reaching these values is enough to lift the value of even less desirable secondary stats to a level worth picking some up.

How To Choose Gear For The Feral Druid

If you are ever in doubt about what items to wear for any given situation, the only way to truly figure it out for your character is to use Raidbots. This website allows you to easily compare gear you already have, as well as gear you do not have.

Due to every character being unique with variables based on your current gear, racial bonuses and effects you have active, it is much easier to trust its bespoke output rather than a general priority if you are looking to min-max your damage potential.

4.

Gems, Enchants, and Consumables

The gems, enchants, and consumables you will use are often dictated by the ideal stat that you are using. You can check our recommendations on our dedicated consumables page.

Understanding Feral Druid Stats

As a Feral Druid, Agility is your primary stat, which should be present on all Leather gear you wear, alongside your weapon. Individual stats provide the following benefits:

  • Agility - provides you with Attack Power, increasing the damage of your Feral abilities and melee attacks.
  • Critical Strike - increases the chance for your attacks critically strike, dealing double damage. Additionally:
    • Grants an additional Combo Point when you Critically Strike with a Combo Point generating ability.
  • Mastery - improves Mastery: Razor Claws Icon Mastery: Razor Claws, increasing all damage dealt by your Bleed effects. Additionally:
    • Increases the damage dealt by all direct damage finishing moves.
    • Increases the damage dealt by Rampant Ferocity Icon Rampant Ferocity.
  • Haste - increases your auto attack speed and Energy regeneration. Additionally:
    • Increases the tick rate of your Bleed DoT effects.
    • Increases damage dealt by Combo Point generators by 40% of your current amount via Predator Icon Predator.
  • Versatility - increases all damage and healing you do (including trinkets and proc effects) by a flat amount. Additionally, reduces all damage you take by half of that amount.
