FAQWhich Tier Set Pieces Do I Want?
Trinket Recommendations for Mistweaver Monk in Season 1
For healers like Mistweaver, trinkets that are often referred to as "stat sticks" are usually a very safe pick. Unlike DPS, where random procs are very rarely wasted, healers do not always have health bars to heal. A powerful proc can go totally unused if it does not line up with moments of extreme damage. Usually, a strong trinket for us will be an item that has static Intellect and a proc with a high uptime of either Haste or Critical Strike.

Ascendant and Nebulous Voidcores (Bonus Rolls)
Patch 12.0.5 is (re)introducing two new systems to aid in gearing up your character:
Nebulous Voidcores can be used to acquire a random item from specific bosses
or dungeons. This system has bad-luck protection built in, in that once you receive
a particular item from this method, you will no longer be able to roll that item again (until
you receive everything from that source's loot table).
Ascendant Voidcores can be used to further increase the item level
weapons and trinkets up to a maximum of 298! This system will only be available
on max rank Hero & Myth track items, as well as Radiance-Crafted pieces.
For more information on how to acquire these items, make sure to check out our dedicated guide below.
Recommended Nebulous Voidcore Usage for Mistweaver Monk
The items that you choose to target will largely be a function of what items you already have as well as what content you have available to you. For the short-term, it can be valuable to send your rolls on any upgrade in order to get a burst of ilvl, however that comes at the cost of long-term character growth, and may hamper your future progression. Our generation recommendation is to save your rolls for high value items - a loose priority is listed below:
Ascendant Voidcores
You will want to use your Ascendant Voidcores on a Myth track weapon first. This will provide you with a larger throughput gain than if you were to use it on a trinket. If it does not seem likely that you will obtain a Myth track weapon any time soon, then using it on a crafted or Hero track item is also okay.
Best Crafted Items for Mistweaver Monk
Crafted items provide powerful bonus effects to gear called Embellishments. The effects can fairly radically increase the power of a particular item slot. Your character can have a maximum of two Embellishments. The cost of these Embellishments however, is that crafted gear cannot reach the same maximum item level as Myth track pieces, meaning usually you will want to put Embellishments on gear slots that has the lowest stat budget possible: wrists and cloaks. That way you get all the power of the Embellishment, while minimizing the stat loss from the items. Alternatively, you can opt use one of your Embellishments on a weapon; over the long term this is sub optimal, however it provides the most radical boost in power at the start of a season, or for new characters.
Adding Sockets to Gear
Helmets, Belts, and Bracers can all be socketed using the
Radiant Jewelbinder consumable which is acquired by skipping your Great
Vault selection. Doing so will earn you tokens, and six of those tokens can be
exchanged for the
Radiant Jewelbinder, which adds a socket to any eligible
piece of gear acquired in Season 1.
Evaluating Upgrades
Because of the diverse nature of gear and the variability of item level due to things like the weekly cache, a true "best in slot" list is slippery. You should always be equipping items that will benefit you based on your stat weights. To acquire said weights, use WoW Analyzer. More information on sims can be found below.
