Blizzard has followed up on their announcement earlier this month of a 2015 Hearthstone World Championship with the particulars of how the qualification process and competitive events will work this year. This year's championship will use the new 'Conquest' format.

The modified tournament format will require all players to submit three unique class decklists, which can be changed between stages (e.g. group stage to quarterfinals). The ultimate victor must win using all three of their separate classes. Once a player has won with a deck, they cannot reuse it for the remainder of the match. Losing players may opt to reuse a deck or select one of their other decks. Both players know what classes their opponents have, but not which classes they have picked to play.

A new point structure for Ranked Play seasons and tournaments, including smaller, local Hearthstone Cup events, has been revealed:

For complete information on the regions, residency requirements, and tournament hosting rules, see this entry on the Hearthstone blog.

What are your thoughts on the new tournament format? Is the balance of point acquisition between ranked play and third party events fair? Let us know your thoughts.
