Blizzard just posted another preview of a batch of cards coming to Hearthstone in the next adventure mode release, Blackrock Mountain. The Blackwing Technician had been revealed previously, but two new cards - the Blackwing Corruptor and Dragon's Breath - have been showcased for the first time today!

If you think you’ve gotten out of trouble just because you’re a “safe” distance from the otherworldly elementals of Molten Core or the flame-tempered (and ill-tempered) dwarves of Blackrock Depths, think again! A host of black dragons lurk within the uppermost reaches of Blackrock, and their leader is perhaps the most ill-tempered of them all. . . .

The black dragon Nefarian, son of Deathwing, claims the upper reaches of Blackrock Mountain as his own. Ruthless and cunning, Nefarian built Blackwing Lair as a home for the black dragonflight and his various experiments. It was also here that he concocted the ultimate army of home-cooked chromatic dragons, perfect for thwarting Ragnaros and his fiery minions that lurked under the mountain (Nefarian’s favorite pastime).

Up To No Good

If you think shredders are the only things goblins like to tinker with, you are sadly mistaken. The green-skinned technicians within Blackwing Lair love to tinker with “organic chemistry,” creating volatile concoctions from dragon experiments that enhance their own nefarious powers. If you see a Blackwing Technician looking shady, be sure to take note: A dragon is near.

While the Technicians are busy dabbling with their dangerous dragon experiments, the Blackwing Corruptors are engrossed in harnessing and controlling the powers of dragons for their own dark deeds. These minions have seen “How to Train Your Dragonkin” at least 100 times. Their powers are also bolstered by their proximity to dragons, so stay on your toes!

There are a few rules when it comes to handling dragons, but the most important rule of all is this: Don’t stand in front of one—ever. Aside from a maw of sharp teeth to watch out for, dragon breath is incredibly good at reducing heroes to piles of ash. While it’s not minty fresh, Dragon’s Breath can be very powerful in the hands of a Mage on a minion-roasting rampage.

Are you ready to tackle the dangerous experimental dragonflight of Blackwing Lair? Don’t be “dragon” your feet for this one—prepare yourself for Hearthstone’s second exciting Adventure, Blackrock Mountain, coming soon!

What do you think of the new cards? Blackwing Corruptor looks like a poor man's Goblin Blastmage or a cheaper Fire Elemental, while Dragon's Breath has the potential to be immensely powerful in the Mage arsenal (since any minion dying would count!).

A new series of posts in the official forums will shed some light into the inner workings of the Hearthstone team. Welcome to Tavern Talk!
In this first installment, three questions are answered. The first has to do with additional rewards for players who have earned a Golden Hero with every class. Unfortunately, no extra rewards are planned since the team wants new features or rewards to be obtainable by 10% or more of the playerbase.
Then, we have an update on the new player experience. Team 5 wants to add additional ranks above rank 25 for new players, so they can mostly face each other in their first steps in the ranked ladder. You will be able to only progress forward in these ranks, similarly to what already happens from rank 25 to 20.
Lastly, we have a double question about using alternate card art and reprinting cards. The team doesn't like the idea of alternate card art, since it makes sense that players associate and remember a specific card from its art. Reprinting cards is something that has been discussed already and it's something they might do in the not-so-near future after careful consideration.

Ever wondered what goes on behind the closed doors of the tavern? Ava and the crew’s antics aside, the Hearthstone development team works hard on a myriad of tasks to bring you the game you know and love so well. More than that, we also make the time to read about the different issues and questions the community brings to light each day. Welcome to Hearthstone Tavern Talk, where we’ll share with you answers to some of the questions we see in our community!
Are there any additional rewards for players who have achieved a Golden Hero in every class?
Usually when we add new features or rewards we like to make something that can be obtained by 10% or more of our players. Only very few of our players have the 9 Golden Heroes, and we feel that’s already pretty awesome by itself.
Do you have any changes planned for the new player experience?
We have some small ladder changes that we would like to do at some point, specifically targeted at new players when they first enter the game. The change will add some additional ranks above rank 25 that new players can play through before having to play more invested players. There will only be forward advancement through those ranks, so even if they lose, no one will be able to drop back down.
What are your thoughts on alternate card art or reprints of cards from earlier sets?
Alternate card art is something we have avoided because players almost always use art to recognize a card and instantly know what it does. Good gameplay is very important to us so we have avoided adding multiple pieces of art for a single card.
Reprints are something that we have discussed in the past, but we would want to do so only after careful consideration. We don’t have any specific plans for this in the near future.
See you at the next edition of Hearthstone Tavern Talk!

This is the second time this Brawl appears.
The trend of Tavern Brawls themed after Death Knight Hero Powers continue: last week we had Rise of the Zombeasts, now we have Shadow Reflection.
In this constructed Brawl, you can craft a deck of any size with cards from your collection. The rest of the deck will consist of Shadow Reflections. Decks consisted of 30 cards (and thus with no Shadow Reflections) can still work, given that Odd Paladin has reportedly been successful (and a total fun breaker).
Judging from the previous time this Brawl was around, Aggro and OTK decks seems to be more favoured. Some decks that had success were Aggro Mage or Ice Lance Mage, Combo Priest with Radiant Elemental, Hunter with Mechwarper and Metaltooth Leaper and Quest Rogue. This time around a new Warrior deck, which mostly relies on Bring It On!, has surfaced to counter all the Priest Mind Blast madness.
      Good luck and have fun!
