Continuing to play and try to learn the deck I am starting to wonder ...

 

Is it actually okay to keep Alexstrasza in your opening hand in some matchups? Yes, she will do nothing until turn 9, but quite a few matchups are so much easier if you draw her until then, or rather so much harder if you do not as you can stem the tide only for so long.

No. Thaurissan is worth keeping in some match ups(mostly against things like handlock, which won't likely kill you before turn 6 anyway), but not alex. That's way too greedy.

Freeze Mage is extremely difficult to play, this is addressed multiple times in the guide, you're probably just not playing the deck effectively vs a more straightforward deck like Zoo.

 

Agree on the difficulty. But IMHO it's more a "precision" deck. I mean every move must be precise, specially the key turns as 5 (nova + doomsayer) or 10 (Toni + nova). However after more than 70 games with this deck (still at rank 15) I realize that people are playing more often Warriors, almost unwinnable, Face Hunters, really hard to win, or introducing in their decks "ironbeak owl" which disable the key turn 5 silencing Doomsayer. This happened countless times to me and leads to an almost sure defeat.

 

Anyway, it's the most enjoyable win, when it occurs. Probably, as you say, due to the difficulty.

Yes, also most Handlocks run 2 owls now. 

 

However, freeze mage is probably one the most satisfying decks to play. You can play perfectly and still lose because of bad draws and/or a godly draw from your opponent - which happens to me repeatedly... I don't like having bad draws, but I absolutely hate my opponent getting perfect draws... I don't take well to stupid luck of the draw, lol

I find handlock to be one of the easiest match ups for this deck to be fair.

Yes, you still should be favoured. Handlock tends to drop to low health to drop Moltens which you freeze and stall until you can finish him off.

A lot of the Handlock matchup depends on how aggressive they are early, if they get the double Giant draw you're in trouble, but you can beat Drakes most of the time.

Hi. I really can't win against Dudu. He always silence my Doomsayer, and stomps me with huge creature. Any tips?

Druid? Yeah Druid is one of the worst matchups for this deck, it happens, there's not really a lot you can do to change that.

What are your thoughts on replacing Pyroblast (and/or another card) with Forgotten Torch once it becomes available?

Hard to say, needs testing. I can see the merits though, and the drawbacks.
