World Cyber Arena Hearthstone 2015 Results: Huge Prize Pool

Recommended Posts

The World Cyber Arena (WCA) Hearthstone championship for 2015 took place last week, and had the third largest prize pool for individual players in the history of Hearthstone. The only two bigger prize pools were the previous two World Championships. Korean player DawN took down the first prize of approximately $110,000 to instantly become the fifth highest Hearthstone tournament earner of all time.

The tournament caused a stir, as the organisers had reportedly told the players that the group stage match format would be best of five conquest, but on arrival they had to play best of three. There was also no official English language stream, which upset many viewers. Eloise and Frodan tried to cast the matches in English but were not allowed to do so.

The final was between DawN and Firebat with DawN's lineup of Druid, Paladin, Warrior and Warlock taking a 4-1 victory over Firebat's Druid, Paladin, Warrior and Mage. A Chinese language version of the VoD is available here

Aaron, from Singapore won approximately $30,000 for third place and Steelo from Korea took home over $15,500 for coming fourth.
