Professional poker player Daniel Negreanu had an interview with ESPN, where he talked about his experiences in Hearthstone.

Daniel Negreanu might be one of the best poker players in the world, but he also has time to play Hearthstone and he actually is quite decent. For example, he won the Hearthstone World Championship 2015 Showmatch against Elky - also a poker veteran, as well as a player of various Blizzard titles. Here is their full match:

We informed you before that ESPN now has an esports tab in their online portal. They recently did an interview with Daniel Negreanu, asking him questions specifically about Hearthstone. Explaining how he started the game, Negreanu said that he had heard talk about it in the poker scene and he thought he'd try Hearthstone out; the result was that he got hooked on it immediately.

He loved the fact that the game was strategy-based, but he also liked Hearthstone's random element. A lot of people are actually complaining that the game is based so much on luck, but Negreanu offered a different perspective: if the game was all about skill and strategy, only the best players would win every time - just like in chess. When asked what's the biggest difference between poker and Hearthstone, he said that in poker you can bluff, whereas in Hearthstone you can't. Indeed, apart from the Secret mechanic or hoovering over your cards, there's nothing close to bluffing in Hearthstone and I don't think Blizzard will be adding such a thing to the game.

Negreanu revealed that his favourite deck is Tempo Mage, but he is currently playing Face Shaman. He also enjoys Priest and Mill Rogue. His favourite card is Sludge Belcher.

This interview was quite interesting: as a professional player in another card game, Negreanu offers a different view about Hearthstone. I really found his explanation as to why RNG in the game isn't as bad as we might think quite thought-provoking. You can read the whole interview here.
