hearthstone Hearthstone Tavern Brawl: Deal Your Fate

This week's Tavern Brawl is called "Deal Your Fate". Each player picks one from a selection of random Fate cards, which are global effects, at the start of the game. The two chosen fates then persist throughout the game. It is a Brawl where you build a deck from your own collection.

There are six initial fates to choose from but you only discover four of these. That means your deck will need to cope when you don't get offered the fate you would like. All of the available fates are pictured below.

If that isn't enough for you, then don't worry, the Brawl has a twist. When you go to 20 life or below, you get to discover a Dire Fate at the start of your next turn. These cards alter the game even further, and in the case of the Murlocs provide a great comeback mechanism.

If both players select the same fate, the effect does trigger twice, so prepare for games with lots of coins or bananas!

It is interesting to note that there are mid-game mechanics in this Brawl. They seem out of place, and it seems likely that Blizzard are using the Brawl to test persistent effects. Whether those will be in the next set, or at some time further in the future, we'll have to wait and see.

Year of the Mammoth Arena Guide now available!
Our Arena Guide has been updated by Pesty, to fully reflect the format for The Year of the Mammoth.
As well as the new tier list for classes, the guide addresses each class in detail, so that you can get the most out of your Arena draft. It also discusses which Mana curves work well with which class, and how to pick on your opponents' likely weaknesses.
The new Tier List is shown below:
Tier 1 (Excellent): Mage, Rogue Tier 2 (Great): Paladin, Hunter Tier 3 (Good): Druid, Priest, Shaman, Warlock, Tier 4 (Average): Warrior For any feedback or questions about this guide, check out our Hearthstone General Discussion Forum, or comment in this thread.

The 97th Tavern Brawl is called 'An Ancient Recipe' and it offers players the chance to try out Journey to Un'Goro decks.
The rules of this Brawl are simple: you choose a hero and you get a premade deck with the Un'Goro deck recipe for that class. The deck archetypes are the following and we even have guides for most of them:
Quest Druid Dinomancer Hunter Elemental Mage (guide for almost identical deck here) Quest Paladin Quest Priest Quest Rogue Elemental Shaman Quest Warlock Quest Warrior All deck recipes have pretty good winning chances. This is a nice chance to play with cards you don't own and get to know the new Hearthstone expansion better.
