In 2.4.1, Legendary Gems are getting overhauled to further them toward what the Devs originally envisioned.

With 2.4 being a mega-content patch, the upcoming 2.4.1 patch for Diablo's Season 6 was bound to be smaller in nature. That does not mean the patch won't have rippling changes in how the game plays moving forward, and the new Developer Insights blog on proves it.

This patch will introduce a number of seriously exciting features, such as Cosmetics Farming, but the impact won't end there. There are also a pretty sweeping number of changes that affect single player vs. party XP, as well as group Greater Rift metas.

There is also a lot number tuning going on, with many set bonuses continuing to get tweaked. In addition to gear tweaks, the gems you slot in those pieces are also getting overhauled.

Awhile ago we reported on a thread which highlighted the way some gems were highly prominent and how they were making many builds very un-fun. unique_gem_015_x1_demonhunter_male.pngTaeguk was at the heart of that discussion, but there were also other gems that too left much to be desired.

The developers have agreed, and admit freely that some gems got out of hand, or fell short of their original vision for legendary gems. The main points are that legendary gems should be a tool that can enhance niche aspects of game-play, and should not be omni-powerful tools that almost universally work across the build landscape. unique_gem_010_x1_demonhunter_male.pngEnforcer is an easy example, as it clearly only works for pet builds. The changes should let each gem take on a very specific and well-defined role in the wheelhouse of legendary gems.

I for one am excited at the makeover and adjustments, and I would love to know what the Icy Veins community has to say about it. Leave your comments below!

It seems that Twitch Prime members will receive a Portrait frame, Skeletal Wings, and a Shadow Diablo pet in an upcoming Twitch promotion.
Redditor Kenaya came across a player with unique achievements and all the goodies listed above. He posted some interesting screenshots on Reddit.
The player had three achievements related to a Twitch promotion that hasn't been officially confirmed yet.
