While this can work sometimes, you have to remember that certain fights require very different management styles. Take Aggramar, for example, where almost all healing required comes during the extremely damage-heavy add phase. Once you have got through the adds' explosions, there is very little to heal. Also, as fights become easier due to gear, progression being over, etc., you will find yourself ending fights with more mana than you normally would.

This also doesn't take into account external cooldowns, such as Innervate, availability of mana potions, etc.

You are obviously correct. But, as a guide, hypothetically - you find yourself 3 mins in to an 8 min fight. The boss is at 65% health and you're at 45% mana. You're in trouble. This is the time to ask for an innervate and start to conserve spells (cut down on cleanses, lava bursts etc). The guide's written to help newbies. It's a newbie tip. It also helps counter-manage the "Always be casting" recommendation by giving a yard stick. Once you learn the fights then absolutely you know when you can burn and when you need to save.

I thought about that when writing the guide, and at a point it said "you should keep your remaining Mana % roughly equal with the boss's % HP percent" but opted out of it in the final version because of what Blainie explained: it depends on the fight!

What you lose when Mana runs out is your ability to do burst healing with Healing Surge and Chain Heal, as cooldowns and Healing Wave can easily be maintained with your normal Mana regeneration, so if the final phase is a desperate race against time where you use those non-stop you probably want to enter it with as much Mana as possible instead of 30% or whatever the boss' HP is at that point.

A good example of a past boss that worked like this is Blackhand on his final phase, if you entered it at 30% Mana you were probably doing things wrong!

While that is a good generalist rule, in practice you want to use your Mana to cover high damage periods, and it can be totally fine to save most of it for the end burn phase if the boss has one.

The Restoration Shaman Uldir boss guides that are about to go out talk about this at length on the bosses that have such burn phases, make sure to check them out :)

Warbands are pretty great and solve a lot of issues players have had in previous expansions, but "just" making most things account-wide and offering a separate bank, among other things, wasn't enough!
As MrGM found out, there's a new set of achievements aimed at helping players with alts, as each character you get to level 80 (the new maximum in the expansion) will give you a 5% experience boost for the next characters you level. The  Warband Mentors: The War Within set of achievements even stacks up to 5 times, so each subsequent character you get to 80 will increase the buff, all the way to 25%! The buff is Warband-wide, so any character you level after that will get the buff.

Making it easier to level alts is always a welcome change, and this is really making us love Warbands even more!

Here's another nice addition to the game coming in the new expansion, with some really interesting mole mounts being added! Keyboardturn found all their variations and their mount special animations as well, so let's take a look.
      And here's the mount special:

Unfortunately ground mounts are getting very out-classed with the Dynamic Riding feature, but we're still hoping for that rumored dynamic ground mounts feature! Perhaps these could dig down and move below ground?

Game Director Ion Hazzikostas has confirmed that the Dracthyr race will have more class options in The War Within. However, this feature may not be ready in time for the expansion's launch.
This update was highlighted in a tweet by MrGM, who shared insights from a London content creator interview about the Dracthyr.
The plan is to introduce the ability for Dracthyr to play as other classes in War Within. Emphasis on playing in Visage form. Required animations for other classes are actively being worked on. The implementation is unlikely to happen at launch, but targeted for early in the expansion cycle. Placeholder for tweet 1780748422066188399
