When I ran your character through RaidBots, it said it was doing ~920K DPS, single target. RB uses SimulationCraft, so it's likely you have made a mistake while running the sim.

Ok so, it's better crit then haste in this moment. Stat weight on icy veins are standard dps oriented then! Is it variable?

Yeah, exactly - the ones we have are a general priority that can be used as an overall guide, but DPS stats work very differently than how tank ones do. If you're looking at DPS stats, they will constantly change. You can using simming on RaidBots to constantly check what your priorities are. It's the simpler way of checking "priorities".

Change your gear according to the priority and then, if you want to be 100% sure it's correct, you can sim different sets of gear against each other. It can all be done here: https://www.raidbots.com/simbot

Hello! I noticed one of your (Blainie) earlier comments that T20 x2/T21 x2 tier bonuses may actually be better than T21 x4 set. Has this proven to be true (while of course wearing skullflower shoulders)? As I've done simming, it's consistently recommended that I do both bonuses by the current gear I have vs the full t21 set, but I wasn't sure how accurate it was.

Follow this advice from the guide:

Quote

The 2-piece Tier 21 Set Bonus is very good, and you should try to obtain it as quickly as possible. At equal item levels, it is best to keep a combination of 2-piece Tier 20 and 2-piece Tier 21 Set Bonuses, but once your Tier 21 gear has an advantage of 10-15 item levels (per item) over your Tier 20 items, moving to the 4-piece Tier 21 Set Bonus is advised.

It's the most accurate indicator of when to swap.

Hello Blainie,

can you help me with simcraft please?

Because i'm using raidbots and it tells me that i do 1.078.830 DPS. If i use Simcraft it tells me that i do 567.521 DPS.

I'm pretty sure that i'm doing something wrong, but i don't know what's the problem.

Global settings are default, iteractions are 25k and target is TMI Standard Boss. Buffs enabled, scaling idem for Strength, Crit, Haste, Mastery. Versatility.

I need to use simcraft instead of raidbots because i'd like to know what is my AOE DPS.

My current profile is:

You can do AoE DPS on RaidBots too - you just have to set the number of bosses in Simulation Options.

You have mentioned the Service of Gorefiend in the ranking list twice. Thought you might want to update that.

We mention it once as its own evaluation, another time in the evaluation of the other belt legendary (since you need to compare them). This is intentional.

Your 'reviewer' is a blood DK that hasn't even finished heroic. I wouldn't take anything he said as hard truth. I am 5/11M and probably know more about the death knight class than him.

You realize you're quoting a year and a half old post, right? We've even changed reviewer since then, not that it matters.

This is so bull shit xD i found shit ton of false information like Will of Necropolis . This talant have insane sinergy whit Purgatory and is even batter that rune tap in mythic argus . Tremble before me is made for mass interupt in high m+ . Blood Tab is good for new players who want to pic rune tap since they can oways have rune for it . Heard break is insane in AOE both for more dps and hps.

In stat priority 20% versa is ok but after that mastery pull over . In high lvl mythic is unthinkable to go whit less than 40% mastery.

Will is "fine". People use it because they don't want to deal with worrying about tap and the possibility of missing it. It's definitely not better than Tap, it's just a possible substitution if you don't want to use Tap. You can just use Bulwark instead anyway, so I don't see why you're suggesting Will would be the choice anyway. To suggest that it's the best talent for Mythic Argus is just silly - it's a talent that is completely pointless for almost the entire fight, since it only triggers to do anything below 35%. Also, are you really taking Will because of a synergy with a talent that can proc twice in a fight? Why not just stop Purg proccing by taking Rune Tap or Bulwark?

The amount of times you'll actually see benefit from Will is so low that it's just not worth taking unless you generally don't care about trying to work with Tap and you don't like Bulwark.

If you wanted to make an actual serious suggestion, maybe talking about Mythic Vari would have served you a bit better in your argument.

Why trade a solid CD reduction to one of your most useful spells, as well as a slow, for an RNG-fest of interrupts? Take the mobs from Maw last pull, for example. You can interrupt completely the wrong spells, make other people waste interrupts, etc. In high M+, as you suggest, it's completely random and will end up screwing things up for you more than it helps. The only time I would think you would need this in 7.3.5 in M+ would be if you run with 3 players that forgot to take their interrupt out of their spellbook and the last has a 24s cooldown.

Having another spell to control isn't what I would call new player-friendly. Surely a passive effect is always going to be more useful and, in the event that they are a new player, they'd likely take Bulwark over Tap. As for Heartbreaker, we already suggest taking it in extreme AoE situations, but it's still better most of the time in M+ to take Blooddrinker, regardless of if Heartbreaker is better on AoE. On ST, there isn't even a comparison, like, it's not even close. What you describe as being "insane" only happens in massive pulls - not in the normal pulls you see.

So, it's unthinkable, yet everyone does it? Let's take the top clears on WLogs using Blood DKs:

  • Idled on Court of Stars 25 ran 5227 Mastery - approximately 31.5%
  • Oonoo on Black Rook Hold 26 ran 2692 Mastery - approximately 22%
  • Godtari on Black Rook Hold 25 ran 3910 Mastery - approximately 27%

I could keep going through, but this already shows that what you have said is just wrong. It's definitely not unthinkable to go into higher level Mythic+ with less than 40%. In fact, it seems that's exactly what you should be doing.

Please feel free to do some testing and research before calling the guide "bullshit".

Here's a really cool possibility for the War Within, as a very subtle and mildly mysterious comment from Executive Producer and Vice President for WoW, Holly Longdale, may be hinting at our Warband characters getting a lot more involved in our travels!
First spotted by UlthansWrath, Longdale came up to Taliesin & Evitel at the recent London War Within Alpha press event and had a short chat about the Warband screen, when she casually said "wouldn't it be cool if those were the characters you took as your followers in your Follower Dungeons?" After the obvious confirmation from Taliesin and Evitel that, yes, yes it would be cool, she just said "hm" and that was the end of the conversation.
Obviously this isn't any sort of official confirmation, but considering this is a really awesome idea, it seems likely Blizzard are at the very least discussing it, if not already working on it.

The Warband system is already great, and this would add a lot to it for players that choose to go solo into dungeons, as it would give them even more motivation to get some great characters in their Warband - even if it was just a cosmetic option.
So, what do you think, will we be seeing this feature when the War Within launches?

Affliction is getting plenty of changes today as well, with Blizzard detailing the reasoning behind certain choices.
      Affliction (Source)
      Greetings Warlocks,
Today, we have various Core and Affliction tree changes hitting the Alpha. We want to take a moment to go a bit more in depth as to what certain changes were made and why. As a refresher, here are the goals for our Core and Afflictions that we posted last week along with some additional goals that we can dig into here.
      Class
Ensure each capstone is interesting and exciting. Reduce the amount of throughput talents, to free up utility choices. Reduce the number of ranks for talents that don’t warrant multiple ranks. Affliction
Address the tuning of Malefic Rapture in single-target and multi-target situations. Reduce complexity and the amount of active buttons that contribute to it. Erase the need to choose between a single-target or multi-target profile by adding more adaptability and flexibility. While we cannot go over every change here, we’d like to get a bit more detailed than last week’s update and explain some of the bigger changes coming in this build.
      Class Tree Throughput
We’re removing a lot of throughput talents from the class tree to allow warlocks to pick up more utility without feeling forced to take mandatory talents to be competitive. These talents aren’t compelling options when placed against utility as they will always be the right answer to have. This allows us to move that power into the specialization trees and tailor throughput-centric talents to be specific to that specialization’s gameplay.
      Malefic Rapture
In addition to becoming baseline for Affliction, we are introducing new talents that will help Malefic Rapture become the go-to spender for both single-target and multi-target situations. This should also shift Seed of Corruption to being a means to apply Corruption to multiple targets rather than what you spam in dungeons. In addition, we are redesigning Siphon Life to be friendlier to Affliction’s rotation and expect that its new design will make it easier to optimize Malefic Rapture.
      Affliction’s Adaptability
While we do want Affliction warlocks to have a preferred talent setup for single- versus multi-target situations, we don’t want it to feel like they are powerless if they are in the opposite situation. By focusing on Malefic Rapture being Affliction’s main spender and removing talents that are only valuable in multi-target situations (Soul Flame, Soul Swap, Doom Blossom, etc.), we’re hoping that the Affliction tree feels less punishing to fill out.
      Is This It?
Not at all. We expect to make changes based on feedback and our own playtesting. We want to get the ball rolling on changes we knew we want to make, so we could start the discussion early on and make adjustments before The War Within launches.
Thank you all for the continued discussions and we look forward to your feedback!
And here are the full changes from the development notes:
