gearing Artifact Relics - iLvl vs Traits

Hey folks!

Having a bit of issue deciding between two artifact relics because one has a horrendous trait increase and a significant iLvl boost, and the other has the better trait.

Breakdown of the two:

Ravencrest's Wrath - Mythic Warforged 850, +43 iLvl, +1 Molten Skin.

Fires of Heaven - Warforged 835, +39 iLvl, +1 Pyroclasmic Paranoia.

Everything I have read so far suggests that iLvl is always superior to the trait, but given this is the best possible trait vs one of the worst possible, I'm not so sure in this case! Any help would be much appreciated.

Even in this situation, item level will win. Use the +43 one.

I feel as if this isnt so cut and dry for all talents, for example Aegwynn's Wrath provides a 1% crit boost, based on stats you can put a number on that exactly at around 217 points of crit per 1 percent, so then if the ilvl upgrade doesnt provide equivalent stat weighted value you can determine that wrath would be the superior slot.

Yes, it is much easier to do this for Arcane. Things are slightly more complicated for the fire artifact that OP was asking about.

When considering the item level upgrade for Arcane, you also need to factor in the raw stat gain of Intellect and how it is currently weighted for your character.
