So Blizzard gave us the opportunity to choose and root for a player during the HS World Championship 2016.

You win in-game prizes for every win they get. Everyone gets a pack for just picking one of the contenders.

So who's your pick?

For me it's basically "Pick your Thijs", just like a ton of the comments on the blogpost said. I don't know if he wins, but I like him and he is a good player for sure, so he could win a few matches for sure.

I have to take the prediction home, and that leaves me with either Pavel, DrHippi or Naiman.

Pavel is good and a real hotshot player. But I can't sympathize him after seeing his performance on EU qualifiers because he got so disgustingly lucky.

DrHippi is consistent but does not shine that much. I think that he is that type of player who can totally dominate  the ladder but not high-roll through a tournament. They have a lot of games to play, though.

But I'll probably vote Naiman, because he is just a really cool guy, and he is technically Asian, and Asians are good at video games. Kappa.

I'm torn between Thijs and bbgungun. Thijs would be the most obvious pick, but I enjoyed bbgungun's games last weekend so I'd like to repay him by offering my very valuable online support in this event.

Thijs is the safest pick for me. He's going to win a little bit, hopefully he wins a lot!

Well, so far I'm glad I went with the BB! Still plenty is possible though as Thijs is definitely not out yet, even though he's up against one of the stronger participants.

Not sure if we're talking about Handsomeguy at this point, but I have to agree with Rdu about him. He is great player, but thanks to the tournament system , those achievements (three finals in regionals, 2 championships) is just overrated in my opinion. Also, he lost big against Cydonia, one og the underdogs of the tournament.

Thijs losing to JasonZhou was definitely a surprise, especially thinking he is really comfortable with druid normally, and in that game, druid just screwed the whole game plan:(

Will we know before the tournament starts how many people have picked each contestant?

Not sure if they'll publish that, but I really hope they do. I don't see a reason for them not to, but perhaps they'll surprise us :p

So I voted for Thijs because he is good player and... well he's Dutch too. :p He's in the loser bracket now I'm hoping he can make a comeback!

I'm really impressed by Amnesiac btw. He's your typical American kid and putting his money where his mouth is. Will be rooting for him as well. :)

I wish there were more players from my home country to support! I don't see many Serbian players out there yet though :p

In episode two of "What's the Move?" Aleco discusses an open-ended situation which doesn't have a clear answer.
We kicked off this new series by analyzing a tricky situation which had only one optimal line of play. In episode two we'll take a look at a very different kind of situation, one where there might not be a perfect move at all.
Please let us know in the comments what you would have done in this situation! One of the primary goals of this series is to foster improvement at Hearthstone by generating discussions. We would also love to hear your feedback on the video itself, as the series is still very new and has plenty room to improve on its format.

A new Brawl has landed in the Tavern.
Just like with the previous expansions, it's time to try out the deck recipes of Knights of the Frozen Throne in this week's Tavern Brawl. The archetypes for each deck recipe are the following:
Druid: I guess the best name for this deck is Midrange Druid. It has Ultimate Infestation and Spreading Plague, so... PROFIT?! Deathrattle Hunter Elemental Mage Divine Shield Paladin Control Priest (you've probably seen variations of it in ladder) Jade Deathrattle Rogue Freeze Shaman Zoolock Control Warrior with Enrage minions This is a good opportunity to try out cards that you don't own. Good luck and have fun!

The balance patch is arriving in the beginning of the next week.
The wait is over! The anticipated card balance changes will arrive on September 18th and hopefully freshen up the meta a little bit. As the case always is with balance patches, for the next two weeks if you disenchant Spreading Plague and/or Murloc Warleader, you will get their full value in Arcane Dust.
      Daxxarri
In the recent Upcoming Balance Changes – Update 9.1 blog, we discussed the details and philosophy behind balance updates that are coming to several Hearthstone cards:

Innervate - Now reads: Gain 1 Mana Crystal this turn only. (Down from 2) Fiery War Axe - Now costs 3 mana. (Up from 2) Hex - Now costs 4 mana. (Up from 3) Murloc Warleader - Now reads: Your other Murlocs have +2 Attack. (Down from +2 Attack, +1 Health) Spreading Plague - Now costs 6 mana. (Up from 5)
This patch is currently targeted for September 18th PDT. Please note that updates for mobile devices may take a few additional hours to propagate.

Once these card changes are live, players will be able to disenchant cards that are not Basic (Murloc Warleader and Spreading Plague) for their full Arcane Dust value for two weeks. Basic cards cannot be disenchanted and will not be available for an Arcane Dust refund. (source)
