New BM Stat Priorities with Mantle of Command

10 posts in this topic

So I was fortunate enough to get mantle of command last night, and ran some quick sims. Based on my sims, it would seem that crit has over taken haste in the stat priority when using mantle of command. So stat priority is as follows:

agi > mast > crit > haste > vers

I haven't calculated weights, but the difference in simulations was significant. I'll leave the weight calculating to others. The idea is that with mantle of command and the changing function of dire beast, it is more advantageous to get more dire beasts from crit, than reducing the CD through haste. Maybe someone else can confirm this also.

I also agree that crit has taken over haste and the new select talents should be Big Game Hunter, Stomp, One with the Pack and Killer Cobra. I am not one to crunch numbers and always come here for my info but the difference I see in my dps with that setup is huge.

This is promising even without the Mantle.  I just did some dummy testing with your WotC build and got a 15k dps increase.

Only reason big game hunter and one with the pack aren't useful is because you only get the first 20% of the bosses health with all that working in your favour.

If you find using a different talent set up works for you and you can replicate those results then I suggest you try and pass them on to Azor so that he can look at them and possibly compare them for others.

I tried out your builds and found myself at a significant dps loss compared to the 7.1 build and new Dire Frenzy/blink strikes build (which I will admit feels a little more fun than I thought it would).

You should try logging some actual data to add to this forum post, I'm sure Azor would be interested to see that.

So I did switch to using Blink Strikes now but I'm still using Stomp... are you saying that Dire Frenzy is a better choice with Blink Strikes?

Dire Frenzy is for pure single target, I was only suggesting combining the two on single target fights because of the fact they both buff your pet damage rather than getting stomp damage as an outside source. But stomp / blink strikes are both much better on AoE fights or anything more than pure single target.

That reminds me... I've never understood... is Stomp a one-shot damage when the pet first attacks or does it happen again during a fight? Sorry if this is a stupid question...

Yes, when you cast Dire Beast, the beast that you summon 'stomps' when it reaches the target and it hits all nearby targets. It happens every time you cast Dire Beast.

For sure Mantle is the best legendarie and dominates everything. I also simmed a "few" (=hundreds) things and I probably got one of the best sums for bm(200sec Ursoc hc). http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/simulator/report/066edface4b54f03ad82919df766e391

Talents: Way of the Cobra and Killer Cobra....Rest left

Pls dont take this to serious, just wanted to know how far we can go...

      Hey hunters!

I used to play hunter back in the old days (Max level 80), and now starting with the game again. Therefore starting to gather some research before making my character (Yea thats my thing). First of all im a raider, love doing that, therefore want to master a spec there can give me a spot on the raid teams. I passionated in the spec BM for a while, but have a hard time to chose, as my research came across Survival. Survival look pretty strong at the moment, when i look at characters as Nnoggah. So i want the hear some of the more experience guys in here, how is BM doing compared to Survival, is it lacking behind or is it doing better if played right?

Hope to hear some opinions. PS i know typical question here, but as a person i just like to get all facts gather before starting something.
      Kind regards - TeemoTeemo

      Hello fellow huntsman,
Created this topic to gather some info about how you guys think the recently announced changes on the Wild Call mechanic will impact on our gameplay.
      Thanks in advance
      Blizzard (Source)
In 7.2.5, we are changing Wild Call from a cooldown reset mechanic to a cooldown reduction mechanic.

The base proc chance will be doubled and the cooldown reduction per proc will be 3.0 sec (affected by haste), roughly half the average expected value of current live Wild Call procs. Baseline, the amount of total Dire Beast casts and Dire Beast uptime should be roughly the same as on live, except the changes should result in smoother Focus regeneration from more well-paced Dire Beast casts.

Additionally, these changes have the desired side effect of bringing the power level of The Mantle of Command more in line with other legendaries.
How is this going to affect One with the Pack? If the proc chance is doubled, then One with the Pack seems to be getting we
One with the Pack's proc chance increase to Wild Call will also be doubled. With the talent, Wild Call will have 100% chance to proc.

Salutations! I have a problem regarding stats and ilvl, i've uploaded 2 pictures of my stats and ilvl with 2 different setups.
In one picture, my stats are (what i consider to be) pretty high except haste, but in order to have these stats i must sacrifice 6 ilvls.
In the other my stats have decreased drastically (except haste, which has increase drastically, as well as my ilvl)
So i wonder what i should set my focus on, my ilvl, or my stats?
Sidenote: with high stats and ilvl 868, In most aoe cases i outdps my hunter friend who is 887 by several miles, his skills are questionable though...
Thank you so much in advance :)

Is there a Haste or Critical Strike Soft/Hard cap for Retribution Paladins in this current patch? I'm trying to figure that out so I can try to hit those caps.

From what I've seen on stat weights, crit has almost caught up with haste in 7.1.5. Would it be close to viable to go Mastery, Crit, Haste if you get One with the Pack? In possible theory that would mean more dire beast which helps focus, stomp dmg, and crit damage, I'd just imagine it would take a lot of crit to make it close to viable.
