Mega Bundles Value Calculator

Recommended Posts

Yqdp3JY.jpg

To celebrate Heroes 2.0 release, every player that logs in between April 25 and May 22 is entitled to a bundle with 20 free Heroes. Redditor Soulless2k4 has put up a useful tool that helps to determine the best Gold value of Mega Bundles. It requires basic input, just select Heroes you own and you'll quickly get results with Gold value of all the bundles.

Bundle Value Calculator

  • Visit this website
    • Please keep in mind that the website receives a lot of traffic and @Soulless2k4 is working around the clock to minimize its downtime!
  • Select Heroes you own and click on "Ready"
  • The website will provide the total Gold value of Heroes you don't own for every bundle

FYI, The website doesn't work.

EDIT: I posted in the creator's reddit thread so hopefully he'll tickle his webserver.

EDIT2: It's back up and here's what it gave me.  The following characters that I own were not available to select: Gazlowe, Zagara and Cho'gal.  I'm guessing they weren't offered in any package:

Looks like it was overloaded. It worked for me about 20 minutes ago, telling me I will save 80k on the "best value" bundle. It sucks being unable to see your own best value bundle, but I suggest checking back later.

Ok, will check later, wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Thanks for the link anyways.

Looks good, nice work. A bit too late for me made my own xls document for it when they announced the Mega Bundles. It doesn't look pretty and messy formulas but it takes into account the amount of gold for heroes you want to get which are not in the desired bundle.

Anyway I think that helps a lot of ppl, especially new players.

Definitely! I didn't make my own and just used this (once is was back up, that is!). Looks like my best chance is about 10,000 saving. I guess I bought too many heroes :(

Hi all, I'm the creator of that site and tool. Thanks so much Stan for sharing.
The site is down due to traffic. It's getting periodically "buffed" by my provider. So all I can say is keep trying as I'm on it and trying to get the site up and running constantly.

To those of you that managed to use the tool, hope you found it useful and thanks!

Receiving an unprecedented amount of traffic. I have a newfound appreciation for network administrators and engineers. Site is currently up. But it goes down periodically for a few minutes. My service provider has informed me they have set everything to max to take care of this the best they can.

Again, thanks for your patience. I hope you find the tool useful.

Hey at least you get to keep the gems :D so you get at least a little bit of something instead of nothing at all!

I know logically I should grab the bundle that gets me the most value but I know I'm never touching most of that tank/bruiser bundle.

No, logic dictates you take the bundle that gives YOU the most value.

That isn't necessarily the bundle which would cost you most gold - if you know for sure that you won't play hero X, that hero has a gold-worth of exactly 0 to you.

To add to this; I say take the bundle that gives the most value unless one of the bundles yields multiple heroes that you've been dying to have. In that case take that bundle.

In Storm League, rank is always updated by taking the change in rating and determining the equivalent number of rank points to reward. While the Heroes team is quite happy with how it turned out, the system is causing problems in Bronze 5.
In Bronze 5, players gain/lose far fewer points per game than players in other leagues and divisions. The underlying problem makes it harder to climb out of Bronze 5 and causes frustration and bad gameplay experience. The team is working on ways to improve it and provided an explanation of why this is happening.
      Blizzard (Source)
With the launch of Storm League season 1 we have seen a dramatic improvement in rank distribution. One of the primary changes in this release was in how rank is determined. In the past, rank and rating were two entirely different concepts, both of which were updated differently after each game. It was very common for a player's rank and rating to diverge throughout each season which could cause the matchmaking system to struggle to find games.
With the changes introduced this season, rank is always updated by taking the change in rating and determining the equivalent number of rank points to reward. This leaves very few ways rating and rank can diverge and results in most players being shown a number equivalent to their rating.
Overall, we are very happy with how the changes are looking; however, we are aware of the inconsistencies players are currently experiencing in Bronze 5. With the new design, players in Bronze 5 will gain/lose far fewer points per game than players in all of the other leagues and divisions. The reason for this is a bit technical but we wanted to take the opportunity to elaborate on what's going on.
Under the hood, matchmaking rating is simply a number on a bell curve. Every league and division encompasses a range of values on the same curve. For example, if the overall bell curve ranges from -10.0 to 10.0 and the range 1.0 to 1.5 maps to Gold 1, then a player with a rating of 1.25 will have the equivalent rank of Gold 1 & 500/1000 points. These numbers are intentionally made up as the real ones are always subject to change but the idea is the same.
The reason for the decrease in points awarded in Bronze 5 is that the range of ratings that maps to Bronze 5 is much larger than other divisions. The difference is that this much larger range of ratings still maps to the same number of rank points. As a result, despite being rewarded the same change in matchmaking rating, the rank points awarded may be lower. This is visualized by the graph below:
We understand that this inconsistency is a negative experience for players so we will be exploring some ways to improve it.
Thanks for participating in Storm League and providing your feedback!
