Aspect of the beast sim: raidbots vs. simcraft

4 posts in this topic

Hi guys,

first of all: Sorry, my English isn't very well.

Yesterday I played a little bit with my gear, legys and talents on raidbots and found out that my simulated dps should be a little bit higher by using Aspect of the Beast.

Talents: 2111113

gear: 2x T19; 4x T2O; Qua*pla + Sephuz

sim: 1225k single target dps

By way of comparison my old build:

Talents: 2111112

gear: 2x T19; 4x T2O; waist + Sephuz

sim: 122Ok single target dps

Using simcraft by my own with the same settings I get for my

old build: 1215k single target dps

and with Aspect of the Beast only: 1187k

In the past I simed allways a little bit higher with raidbots in comparison to simcraft, but the tendency was the same.

Any ideas why there are bigger discrepancies this time?

Greetings

Lemmi

That's odd. From what I understand Raidbots is a website that runs SimulationCraft for you, so the back-end should be exactly the same. Raidbots right now displays SimulationCraft 725-02 reports, using wow build level 24461 (or at least that's what it says for me). I would check the versions you're running, maybe one of them is outdated?

With what Khallid said, chances are your Simulationcraft app is out of date - you need to update it at least weekly to ensure it stays accurate.

checked it up:
In the latest simcraft build (22.08) I got a the 1.187 mil with the setting  "heavy movement".

With "Patchwerk" it shows me 1.224 mil, nearly the same than raidbots.

The simed dps should be the same with both settings, right?

Maybe a little bug with the newest simcraft build. I think 99% of the users sim with "patchwerk", so not that big deal.

According to Azortharion simulations, our best for Antorus will be Qapla/Soul+Dire Frenzy/OWTP , ¿what stats need this build? At this moment, we need Mastery/Haste for Dire Frenzy build and Critical/Haste for OWTP build: therefore, they are mutually exclusive, right?  Or at least I understand that.
      So, ¿what stats?

Looking for some advice about how to improve my DPS - I should be doing better than this I feel (using stomp build). My guild only raided NH HC and I got to the point where new gear was out-doing the 2pc 895 tier 19 set I had, which is why I'm not using 2pc tier 19 atm. If this was the wrong choice and I'm better dropping my ilevel to go back to it please let me know. I have most BM Leggos so again if I'm using the wrong combo please advise me. I would like to tweak my stats but not sure what gear would do me better than what I have. Any help you can give me would be so much appreciated.

      Hello,

I've been back to WoW for about month or two now and got fairly decent at playing BM hunter, but definitely feel my dps can be better in some situations.
Overall my stats from equipment seem ok, but I definitely lack legendaries so far. Try to clear as much as i can each week to get more legos, but it's slow.
Potentially having t19 2pc would help as well.

I switched to stomp build recently. I like that better than df. I guess a bit easier :) than keeping track of trying to keep 3 stacks up. Although I can go back easy enough.
For the most part I use skills asap, so likely some dps loss is there due to not timing things together.

      Hi, im new in here.
I decided to share this build i made. It fun to play also it's great to do the achievement seasonal [Legendary].
I want to hear some feedback if anyone can help to improve this build.
I know isn't the best but i don't care just want to play something fun and useful.
In a couple of hours i will be uploading a gameplay video.
Click here to see this build on diablofans site.
      Rathma's court

Actually i make this with all the stuff i get until now on season game so could there be a better legendary to use or a better skill combinations and that's why i came here i want to improve it.

      Hi fellow hunters.
More to invite discussion than asking for any specific help.
Recently been experimenting between the dire frenzy build and the stomp build in ToS, going in with the expectation that the dire frenzy build would win in terms of dps. A few runs on a training dummy/ sims showed very little difference between the two (screenshot attached, albeit with a few gear upgrades since i last raided), so I thought I'd give the stomp build a go in a raid.
I was actually amazed by the difference it made in my dps. Stomp turned out to be miles better in the raid than dire frenzy was. On goroth heroic went from 850k the previous week to 980k this week. Similar effect of harjatan. The only scenario where dire frenzy was even close was heavy aoe on mistress sasszine. Very little gear difference between the two runs, certainly not enough to account for >100k dps. (For those interested: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/character/13743279/13#difficulty=4&class=Hunter&spec=BeastMastery&metric=dps)
Stomp certainly felt more fun to play, and less punishing if you miss a cast, unlike dire frenzy where you lose your stacks which has a big hit on dps.
The suprising thing is im not using the soul of the huntmaster or any T19.
      So a few questions:
Is stomp better for me because of my gear? Lots of crit with bracers/mantle.
      Blind luck? (Unlikely)
I'm terrible at dire frenzy? (More likely)
Dire frenzy will scale much better with gear?
      Thanks for your time :)
