Ana, Veteran Sniper (Hero Spotlight)

As a founding member of Overwatch and one of the world's best snipers, Ana Amari uses her skills to protect the innocent. Though she went MIA after losing her eye, Ana's sense of duty and responsibility has brought her back to the fight.

Shrike Ana

The skins cost 150 Shards each. No altered voicover or animations.

Recently, Ana has been operating in the Nexus under the alias of "Shrike" and is wanted for espionage, assault, and theft in Luxoria.

Trait

Shrike

  • Basic Attacks apply a Dose to non-Structure enemies, dealing an additional 44 damage over 5 seconds, and stacking up to 5 times.

Abilities

[Q] - Healing Dart (Mana: 15, Cooldown: 2 seconds)

  • Fire a dart which heals the first allied Hero hit for 250 Health.

[W] - Biotic Grenade (Mana: 50, Cooldown: 16 seconds)

  • Toss a Grenade at the target area. Allied Heroes hit are healed for 175 Health and receive 25% increased healing for 4 seconds. Enemies hit take 60 damage and receive 100% less healing for 2 seconds.

[E] - Sleep Dart (Mana: 50, Cooldown: 14 seconds)

  • Fire a dart that puts the first enemy Hero hit to Sleep, rendering them unable to act for 3 seconds. Sleep's effects end instantly if the target takes damage after the first 0.5 seconds. Cannot be used on Vehicles.

Heroic Abilities

[R1] - Nano Boost (Mana: 40, Cooldown: 50 seconds)

Instantly boost an allied Hero, restoring 200 Mana. For the next 8 seconds, they gain 30% Spell Power and their Basic Ability cooldowns recharge 150% faster. Cannot be used on Ana.

[R2] - Eye of Horus (Mana: 75, Cooldown: 60 seconds)

  • Assume a sniping position, gaining the ability to fire up to 8 specialized rounds with unlimited range. Rounds hit the first allied or enemy Hero or enemy Structure in their path. Allies are healed for 300 and enemies are damaged for 175. Deals 50% less damage to Structures. Ana is unable to move while Eye of Horus is active.

Talents

Level 1

  • Grenade Calibration (W)
    • Quest: Hit enemy Heroes with Biotic Grenade.
    • Reward: After hitting 10 Heroes, Biotic Grenade does 75% more damage per allied and enemy Hero hit.
    • Reward: After hitting 20 Heroes, Biotic Grenade's duration on allies is increased from 4 seconds to 12 seconds, and its healing radius is increased by 100%.
  • Piercing Darts (E)
    • Quest: Hit Heroes with Sleep Dart.
    • Reward: After hitting 10 Heroes, Sleep Dart now hits 2 Heroes and its range is increased by 50%.
    • Reward: After hitting 20 Heroes, Healing Dart now hits 2 Heroes and its range is increased by 50%.
  • Detachable Box Machine (Passive)
    • Quest: Stack 5 Doses on an enemy Hero.
    • Reward: After reaching maximum Dosage 5 times, Doses deal 50% increased damage to enemies with 5 Doses.
    • Reward: After reaching maximum Dosage 15 times, unlock the Active Reload Ability, which can be activated to instantly gain 3 charges of Healing Dart.

Level 4

  • Air Strike (W)
    • Activate to use Biotic Grenade with a 200% increased range, but Grenades thrown this way take 4 seconds to land.
    • Passive: Reduce Biotic Grenade cooldown by 4 seconds.
  • Overdose (Passive)
    • Hitting enemies with Sleep Dart and Bionic Grenade applies 2 Doses.
  • Aim Down Sights (Trait)
    • Shrike can be activated to increase vision radius by 100% and Basic Attack range by 2 but reduces Movement Speed by 20%. Lasts until canceled.

Level 7

  • Temporary Blindness (E)
    • After Sleep Dart's effects wear off, targets are Blinded for 2 seconds.
  • Mind-Numbing Agent (Trait)
    • Every Dose a Hero has reduces their Spell Power by 15%.
  • Debilitating Dart (Active, Cooldown: 45 seconds)
    • Activate to fire a dart which reduces the damage dealt by the first enemy Hero it hits by 50% for 4 seconds.

Level 13

  • Speed Serum (Q)
    • Healing Dart grants 25% Movement Speed to affected Heroes for 2 seconds.
  • Purifying Darts (Q)
    • Healing Dart removes Roots and Slows from the target, and heals for 20% more when doing so.
  • Smelling Salts (Q)
    • Healing Dart removes Stuns from the target, and grants them 50 Armor for 2 seconds when doing so.

Level 16

  • Sharpshooter (Q)
    • Healing Dart's healing is increased by 5% each time it heals a Hero, up to 50%. This bonus is reset if Healing Dart fails to hit a Hero.
  • Concentrated Doses (Q)
    • Increase Healing Dart's healing by 10% for each Dose active on enemy Heroes.
  • Contact Healing (W)
    • Biotic Grenade heals for 30% more per allied and enemy Hero hit.

Level 20

  • Nano Infusion (R1)
    • Allies affected by Nano Boost heal for 50% of Spell Damage dealt.
  • Ballistic Advantage (R2)
    • Eye of Horus rounds explode upon impact, healing nearby allies for 300 and dealing 150 damage to nearby enemy Heroes.
  • Somnolent Doses (Trait)
    • Upon stacking 5 Doses, Heroes are put to Sleep for 2 seconds.
  • Dynamic Shooting (Passive)
    • Basic Attacks increase Attack Speed by 10% for 4 seconds, up to 100%.
  • Custom Optics (Passive)
    • Increase the Aim Down Sights Basic Attack range bonus from 2 to 4.

Those Grenade talents seems really nice.  Especially the level 1 talent.  The final quest bonus is shockingly large.  12(!) second duration?  On top of a 75% per hero damage increase?  Wow.  Other talents give large cooldown, range, and healing boosts.  Seems like a great build.

The other build that catches the eye is the auto attack build with Aim Down Sights.  Seems like good sustained damage and healing.

In either case, I look forward to testing her out.

Was awesome to use the grenade to deny enemy healing in Overwatch, I'm sure it'll cause many a healer to cry in frustration in HotS as well.

The Biotic Grenade build seems to be arguably the best, although the Shrike build looks interesting too.

You joke, but with Anna's kit it's totally believable to have a genji (or any carry) paired with her and uther in a double support... Which is TERRIFYING.

Nano boost 50 sec cooldown? WTF blizz that's way too much for an ability that has just as much if not more potential than stim drone from morales.

It doesn't need to. Auto-attacks are on a relatively standard scale for impact from nano-boost and also means melee range is commonly a factor hence the speed boost. Very few abilities are melee range, and those that are the hero also has gap closers to make them effective (diablo charge into overpower for example). The boost of power and frequency on a combo focused hero (Li-Ming, Jaina, Kerrigan, etc) is INSANE without speed or length of stim.

      Blizzard has fixed the issue related to placement matchmaking ratings. All players have had their placement matches reset and Performance Based Matchmaking has been turned off until further notice.

      As mentioned in earlier forum posts regarding Matchmaking Ratings here and the follow up here, we have been working hard on a fix to address the issue affecting placement matchmaking ratings. After further investigation, we identified the root cause and have deployed a fix. We apologize to everyone who has been impacted by the rough start to the new ranked season.

      Once the hotfix is live in your region, we will re-enable matchmaking for Hero League and Team League. And although the issues we encountered were unrelated to the Performance Based Matchmaking improvements, we are reinstating Ranked mode with the Performance Based Matchmaking updates turned off. We want to make sure we’ve resolved all of the issues and that the ranked season placements are in a good place before we reinstate any new features. We understand many of you are very excited about the Performance Based Matchmaking changes and we’ll update everyone once we’re ready to turn them back on again.

      Additionally, to ensure the accuracy and fairness of this ranked season, we have decided to completely restart this season. That means all accounts, regardless of whether they were affected by this issue, will be reset. We understand that this is very frustrating, particularly for those who have already redone their placement matches. Once again, we sincerely apologize to our passionate and dedicated players who have been impacted by this unfortunate issue. Thank you again for your patience as we work to make things right. Ranked queues were temporarily disabled yesterday.

      Hi everyone,

      As many of you may be aware after reading a forum post we made earlier this week, we’ve been working to resolve an issue affecting placement Matchmaking Ratings (MMR) following the Ranked Season Roll on Tuesday. After investigating the issue, we rolled out a fix that we believed would resolve it, and also reset the affected players’ placement matches. 

      However, it’s evident that there is still unexpected behavior from placement MMR and we have been receiving reports that players are still being placed inaccurately. These placement issues are unrelated to the performance-based matchmaking update and we are working hard to determine the root cause and resolve this situation as soon as we possibly can. We sincerely apologize for the frustrations this has caused for those of you who’ve already embarked on your Hero and Team League journey this season.

      While we are working toward that fix, we also want to prevent as many players as possible from being placed incorrectly. As a result, we have disabled ranked matchmaking queues in all regions until we are confident we can solve the issue.

      We understand that disabling the ranked queues is less than ideal, and want more than anything to get you back in the action as soon as possible. Our ultimate goal is to provide you with the best matchmaking experience we can, so we thank you very much for your continued patience as we work to ensure ranked play provides a fun and fair experience for everyone. 

      Until that time, feel free to jump into one of our other game modes, including Quick Match and Unranked Draft. We will keep you updated as we make progress on a fix for ranked play. Game Director Alan Dabiri took full responsibility for the issue. The latest update was massive and this bug persisted even after all internal and extended PTR testing.

      Rules:
      Shuffle pick - Choose from one of three Heroes before entering the battle. Standard play - no talent or level restrictions. Blackheart appears immediately after the gates open, and accepts Doubloon turn-ins as usual. Skeleton Doubloon camps have been removed from the map. Doubloon chests spawn more often, appear at new locations, and drop more Doubloons. Forts and keeps drop 10 Doubloons when they die. Mercenary camps drop an additional 3 Doubloons (for a total of 5). The Boss camp drops a total of 15 Doubloons. While chests are active, Blackheart fires one cannonball every 2 seconds in an area immediately around the chest. Blackheart does not bombard enemy structures as normal (at 10/12/14 Doubloons, etc.). Instead, he waits for a team to turn in 100 Doubloons, whereupon he bombards the enemy core until it's dead. Rewards:
      Complete three matches of the Booty Coffers brawl to earn a Loot Chest!
