Once again, you get to vote for your favourite finalist on the HCT Summer Championship and earn card packs.

As usual, you will receive one pack just for picking a champion, while you will get additional card packs each time your selected player advances to the next stage of the Championship. Obviously, this time you will be awarded with Knights of the Frozen Throne packs and you can earn up to a total of 4 packs. The voting page can be found here.

The Summer Championship finals will take place Friday, October 13, through Sunday, October 15. You have until October 12 at 9.00 am CEST for Europe or October 11 at 11:59 PDT for the Americas to vote for the player you are going to root for this time.

Here's the tournament's schedule:

  • Oct. 13 at 17:30 CEST / 8:30 am PDT – Group Stage
  • Oct. 14 at 17:30 CEST / 8:30 am PDT – Group Stage
  • Oct. 15 at 17:30 CEST / 8:30 am PDT – Playoffs

The Summer Championship will have a dual tournament group stage, followed by a single elimination playoff bracket. Groups will consist of four competitors—one from each region. Each match will be best-of-five in the Conquest format with one class ban, so all players need four decks.

Who will be fighting for the $60,000 of the first prize out of a total prize pool of $250,000?

Group A Group B Group C Group D
Trunks Purple Surrender Pavel
OldBoy uya YAYTears SHRoyalBaiZe
Nalguidan Amyks OmegaZero Cocosasa
Tom60229 OMJasonzhou Orange Empanizado

Group C definitely looks like the "group of death", while in Group D you can find Baize, the very first female player to make it to an HCT Championship final stage. There are a lot of new names this time, so make sure to vote carefully. If you want to know a bit more about the players, you can read this dedicated official blog post about them.

As always, I'll just wait on the decklists to be made public so I can make the totally wrong pick, based on my very misguided idea of which decks are good or not.

I voted Orange that is one of the nearest to my homeland and because I like his country. I always vote for an European player :)

I always vote for a name I recognize. Failing that, I go for best username and/or portrait picture. Just like a lottery!

Dave Kosak introduces us to the Monster Hunt, which will be available in a week.
The Lead Mission Designer was joined by two of his associates to discuss the newest PvE mode, which will come along with The Witchwood. Paul Nguyen talked about the four heroes. Tess Greymane has a Hero Power that lets her Discover any class card that has been played in a game (by both players) and add it to your hand.
Darius Crowley has an indestructible cannon minion that can be activated via Darius' Hero Power and fire at the minions across it. Positioning will matter, as you can kill two enemy minions at once and the Hero Power will refresh each time you kill a minion with your cannon. There weren't any details on Houndmaster Shaw or Toki, Time-Tinker, but it was hinted that the former hero will have something to do with Rush (just like its card counterpart).
Giovanni Scarpati discussed bosses and treasures. The Monster Hunt will feature over 45 unique boss encounters. As Ben Brode had revealed in an earlier interview, each hero will have its own final boss, called "nemesis fight". For Crowley it's Lord Godfrey, for Shaw it's Glinda Crowskin and for Toki it's her own future self! When you clear the Monster Hunt with all four heroes (and win four packs), you get to face Hagatha as the last boss. Ultimately, as far as the treasures are concerned, there are a few returning ones from the Dungeon Run, but most are new. There are also hero exclusive treasures, as well as unique treasures "dropping" from rare boss encounters.
You should definitely watch the video to get a glimpse of all the new stuff coming with the Monster Hunt. And don't forget: it's release date is April 26 at 10:00 am PDT!
Start stocking up on vials of holy water and cannonballs, because The Witchwood’s free, single-player missions, the Monster Hunt, goes live on April 26 at 10:00 a.m. PDT!

      Ready for Action
If you played the Dungeon Run in Kobolds & Catacombs, the Monster Hunt will be eerily familiar—but much is different! Rather than choosing one of Hearthstone’s nine classes, you’ll take on the role of one of four veteran monster hunters, each with a special ability that you’ll need to make the most of if you hope to survive the hunt.
Your hunter will venture deep into the Witchwood on Hagatha’s trail, defeating a series of monstrous bosses who dare to cross your path. With each victory, you’ll build a stronger and stronger deck with the items you find. You may encounter some trusty old equipment out in the forest, but much of what you’ll find will be entirely new, including treasures unique to certain foes. Each monster hunter has their own favorite tricks—a special hero power or ability that you’ll need to master if you hope to survive the hunt. Each hunter also carries a grudge against a heinous nemesis in the woods: a unique boss that only they can track down to fight.

You’ll want to go on a Monster Hunt with every hunter, because each offers a quest that will earn you a Witchwood card pack. And if you’ve got the mettle to complete the Monster Hunt with all four hunters, you’ll finally have a chance to face off with the real witch in the woods: Hagatha! If you can free the wood from Hagatha’s curse, you’ll earn the gratitude of Gilneas and the Monster Hunter card back!

We hope you enjoyed learning more of what lurks ahead in Monster Hunt! We’re eager to hear your tales of The Witchwood on social media using the #Witchwood hashtag. Learn more about The Witchwood at!
We’ll see you on the hunt!
