Daily Quest Bug Update: Three Free K&C Packs Coming in January

Blizzard will be giving away three free packs of Kobolds & Catacombs as reciprocation for the Daily Quest bug which has persisted since the launch of the new set.

Beginning with the launch of Kobolds & Catacombs, the majority of the player base has been experiencing a number of issues with Hearthstone's Daily Quests. They rarely show up when they are supposed to, and for some they haven't been showing up at all. As Daily Quests are the primary source of Gold in Hearthstone, this bug has been causing quite a stir on Reddit and the official Blizzard forums.

Today we received our first official update on the Daily Quest bug. The update offers some solutions to the issue for players who are still experiencing it, and promises to deliver three free Kobolds & Catacombs packs to all players some time in early January.

Blizzard Logo Daily Quest Issue: Update Dec. 21

Greetings,

Thanks for helping to make the launch of Kobolds & Catacombs legendary! Millions of players joined us to explore the vast kobold dungeons, and we hope all your adventures into the depths have been incredibly fun.

After launch, we discovered something not-so-fun: an issue that delayed some players from receiving new daily quests after logging in, largely due to the unexpected impact that so many Dungeon Runs had on our services. We immediately set to work investigating the issue and implemented hotfixes to resolve it. We’re still working on it, but at this point the delay is significantly reduced, and in most cases players will now see their daily quests immediately upon log in.

Due to the nature of the issue, some players may still experience a delay between 10-30 minute after logging in to get their daily quest. Here are some steps you can take to prompt the quest log to update if you are not already seeing new quests upon login.

  • • Check your quest log 10-30 minutes after logging in for the first time after quests reset. You need not remain logged in for that time.

    • Manually refresh the quest log by pushing the Quest Log button.

    • Play games in Play Mode or Arena (Note that Dungeon Run will not cause the quest log to update).

    • Note: If you happen to complete your quest without seeing the quest log update, you’ll still be properly rewarded.

We’re currently working on short-term solutions that should soon make these additional steps unnecessary, and we plan on implementing better long-term solutions in the new year.

We understand how important daily quests are to the experience of Hearthstone, and we’re sorry for any confusion or frustration affected players might have experienced. As a celebration of Kobolds and Catacombs and a thank you to affected players for being patient while we worked to fix this issue, we’re sending all Blizzard players three Kobolds & Catacombs card packs, for free, on us!

Your free card packs will arrive via Blizzard Battle.net gifting in early January. To redeem on mobile, just log into Blizzard Battle.net via your favorite browser. If you’re on PC, you can click the gift icon on the upper right next to your Battletag. If your packs don’t appear in-game after you claim them, please try restarting Hearthstone.

Thanks for joining us in the tavern, and we wish you warmth and joy for the holidays!

It's really bad, because you can't complete some quest without knowing what they are like play murloc pirates or play cards of a class, they require a lot of cards played and it's very rare you can do it randomly because that means playing 50 cards of each class every day to find a quest.

Right before the news for the upcoming PvE Adventure hits, Blizzard announced some much needed balance changes.
Two card buffs from the May update will be reverted, while three more cards will be nerfed in an update coming next week.
In May, we had the first card buffs in Hearthstone's history. In an occasion like that, it was certain that some of these buffs would be hit or miss. While there were definitely some misses, some of these biffs hit harder than expected and thus they will now will be reverted. These cards are Extra Arms, which will go back to costing 3 mana, and Luna's Pocket Galaxy going back to 7 mana.

Two more cards from Standard are also getting nerfed in the August 26 update. Mage will suffer another big loss, as Conjurer's Calling will now cost 4 mana (up from 3).

Another much needed nerf is that of Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. The 7-mana 7/7 (infinite 7s) meme started from the original card will be no more, as the cost of this heavily used Hero card will be upped to 9.

Finally, a lot of Wild players can breathe out in relief as Barnes' cost will be increased to 5 mana, up from 4. I am not sure if this will be enough to alleviate the frustrations of the Wild community with the Legendary minion, but at least it's a step to the right direction.

You can read about Blizzard's thinking behind these nerfs in the official blog post.

In this new Brawl, all minions work like Nightmare Amalgam.
This means that all minions count as Elementals, Mechs, Demons, Murlocs, Dragons, Beasts, Pirates and Totems!
Since this a Constructed Tavern Brawl, you want to build your deck carefully. It's  clever to focus on synergies of a specific Tribe (Murloc, Pirate and Mech/Magnetic decks being the most successful ones so far) but you can also create some busted combos if you mix and match.
Key cards for each type of Tribe include:
Elementals: Lesser Ruby Spellstone, Frost Lich Jaina Mechs: Galvanizer, Mechwarper, Magnetic cards Demons: Ectomancy, Sacrificial Pact, Sense Demons Murlocs: Murloc Warleader, Underbelly Angler, Old Murk-Eye - basically anything that has Murloc written on it Dragons: Duskbreaker, Wyrmrest Agent, Drakonid Operative, Twilight Guardian Beasts: Crackling Razormaw, Master's Call, Scavenging Hyena, Revenge of the Wild Pirates: Ship's Cannon, Patches the Pirate Totems: Thing from Below, Totemic Surge, Splitting Axe Some Tribe combinations favour specific classes (like Elemental for Mages and Beasts for Hunters and Druids) or are strictly restricted to them (Totems and Demons), while classes like Shaman enjoy the freedom of being decent for various deck styles.
Don't forget to grab your Hungry Crab, Golakka Crawler and a board clear - you are going to need them! Menagerie cards will also buff nicely your entire board.
