The previously announced changes to Medivh and Sonya are now live on PTR. Alarak's SadismSadism and Diablo's Black SoulstoneBlack Soulstone trait are now categorized as repeatable quests. New skins, mounts and tweaks to Ana await in the latest patch!

Heroes, Abilities, and Talents

  • Nova: Precision Strike has received updated visual effects.
  • Sgt. Hammer: Has received a custom Hearthstone animation.
  • Thrall: After learning the Thunderstorm Talent, a UI indicator will now appear under the Health bar of Thrall’s most recent Chain Lightning target.

  • The following Hero Traits are now categorized as Repeatable Quests:
    • Alarak: Sadism
      • Quest progress visual and sound effects will now play when earning Takedown credit.
      • Alarak’s Sadism Quest will now appear on the in-game Score Screen (TAB)

      • Quest progress and completion visual and sound effects will now play when Diablo gains Souls.

  • Greymane: Gilnean Cocktail will now correctly play sound effects when it hits a target in the Fog of War.

User Interface

  • Minimap: Ping icons will no longer appear faded on the Minimap while shaders are set to medium.
  • Score Screen: The in-game Score Screen will now correctly track quest progress for D.Va’s Crash Course Talent.

It's been some time since I experienced such an emotional rolercoaster like when I was reading Ana's changelog. IDK what to think about it yet, it might enable her as a solo healer, or at least as a main healer with the new self-sustain mechanism, but her single target healing output shouldn't have been tweaked down 10%. The main issue I see here is the buff on the granade build (which already was imho the most efficient build for her, albeit the least fun) will make the sleep dart/dose build even more frowned upon, specially if there's another healer or healing-capable (self or otherwise) hero on your team.

Give her some self healing from her passive which she needed in a way; using grenade for self healing was a bit pooy in both mana and cooldown. Eye of Hours needed the changes in my opinion but I feel like the aiming will still be a finicky. The grenade change makes sense in a way so that if you want healing from all sources to be amplified; you must commit to grenade build. The rest are tweaks I believe and it is only PTR so some might be reverted ;-;

It's a official blizzard typo.

 

Ana changes are interesting don't like her heal needs or range need on completion but we'll see what happens when it hits live.

I think the biggest overall change to Ana is Biotic Grenade. That really changes the way in which you'd use the ability as well as making Grenade builds probably the weakest now.

I think it's a perfectly reasonable level 16 talent for a bruiser to have, especially since it's also gated behind spending and generating Fury.

The range increased provided by quest completion has been changed from 50% to 40%. Is how it would read if the explanation was longer. It sounds weird but isn't a typo... I think

Since the patch notes read "range increase" and not "range increased," I'd guess they're using the word increase as a noun rather than a verb.  I read it as shorthand for something along the lines of "(the) range-increase (was changed) from 50% to 25%."  I hope that helped!

Sonya finally left out her useless general talents! There are clear Seismic SlamSeismic Slam Bruiser and Ancient SpearAncient Spear Assassin builds embedded in these new talents and that obviously makes her a little more flexible. Can't wait to test these out.

Medivh now also has viable talents across the board! I actually think that they made the talents a little too powerful, now there's going to be no trouble picking which one is right for every situation. I think there aren't enough damage talents for the solo carry Medivh's out there, but that never really was a main point of the character, now was it.

Edit: Guardian of TirisfalGuardian of Tirisfal is still not worth it, especially now that The Master's TouchThe Master's Touch is baseline.

More errors: Life FunnelLife Funnel is moved to level 7, but it doesn't read in the changelog. Maybe there's also a WhirlwindWhirlwind focused team fight build here too.

Guardian of Tiristfal is super worth it on tomb of the spider queen, or even just picking up late game if you have more than one lane to your core open, because it instantly kills catapults.

Artanis has one too (Titan KillerTitan Killer, at level 16) and I don't see anyone complaining. He can deal eye-watering damage with this talent combined with Follow ThroughFollow ThroughTriple StrikeTriple Strike and Nexus BladesNexus Blades.

Not really, it just means that by default Biotic GrenadeBiotic Grenade will no longer increased all healing done; only the one made by Ana. The Biotic Grenade build will still remain strong.

On the other hand, I'm quite excited with the changes to ShrikeShrike; Blizzard mentioned making this change to allow self-heal when they gave that big nerf to Supports last year. Plus, I think this might enable Double Support compositions again, because Ana can deal surprisingly high damage in the Shrike Build.

On a side note, did you guys see there the PTR was already datamined and they found an interesting hint that the next Hero might be Deckard Cain? The stained glass in the background matches the one seen in the Alexstrasza's cinematic.

And that there'll be a new StarCraft Brawl, which apparently will be called "Mineral Madness" (they even found icons).

Although Belial has been "leaked" and Cain seems like a really unlikely hero. But a demon of hell to imitate the appearance of the most beloved Diablo character in history, right down to the datamined leaks? Now that's what I call a lord of lies.

I'm actually thinking that it might be more feasible to just Grenade yourself while staying in poke range of the enemy, and having something like Concentrated Doses compensate for the +healing while Ana just forces her way through a team fight by sheer self sustain from multiple sources; I'm assuming that it's not capped.

Medivh now also has viable talents across the board! I actually think that they made the talents a little too powerful, now there's going to be no trouble picking which one is right for every situation. I think there aren't enough damage talents for the solo carry Medivh's out there, but that never really was a main point of the character, now was it.

Edit: Guardian of TirisfalGuardian of Tirisfal is still not worth it, especially now that The Master's TouchThe Master's Touch is baseline.

Sonya became OpieOP imho if these changes roll as they are.

About Medivh, idk. You'd expect him to be able to do amazing things, lore-wise his feats are pretty much second to none and yet that doesn't seem to go into the game (yeah, I know, lore =/=gameplay but still, Medivh should let out the "powerful" feel). Like, if Khadgar comes and he's like release Jaina/KT (highest damage by far) I'd be pretty disappointed. He's not focused on damage but he shouldn't be "off" there; and if he opts into damage build, he may end up harming his team more than doing good. Oh well, we shall see I guess... And I totally agree, Guardian of TirisfalGuardian of Tirisfal for its name and talent tier was a pretty big letdown and they did nothing to alleviate that. It's only really useful if you're behind in structures (a position you don't wanna end up in the first place) and/or they leave you alone at base to play "minion defense" (Grubby made a "the last guardian" lore joke during a cast lul)

She was already very strong in the meta, but now she is definitely OP. I have a feeling she will be nerfed before hitting live.

      All Quests that can lose stacks will never cause the player to fall below milestone thresholds. Pinnacle Rewards are now named Mythic Rewards to give a more Blizzard feel. So Mythic-y! The following Summoned Units now lose health each second: Demon Lieutenants, Demon Warriors, Gargantuan, Hydralisks, Roaches, Rock-It Turrets, Rush Zombies, Scarabs, Treants, Tumors, and Water Elementals. Total Health and Duration of these Summoned Units have been adjusted to compensate for this. Structures now prioritize Summoned Units when there are no remaining minions.       Players will now receive an announcement when a quest milestone is reached. This will only announce to the player who achieved the milestone. Ranges of abilities on numerous Heroes have been updated to be more consistent. This may cause certain abilities ranges to reduce or increase.       Map Updates
      General A new Fallback Tower has been added to the longer lanes on each of the following battleground maps. This new tower will die when its corresponding Fort dies: Alterac Pass, Battlefield of Eternity, Blackheart's Bay, Braxis Holdout, Cursed Hollow, Dragon Shire, Garden of Terror, Hanamura Temple, Infernal Shrines, Sky Temple, Tomb of the Spider Queen, Volskaya Foundry, and Warhead Junction. Attacks from the Core, Keeps, Forts, Fallback Towers, and Towers near Keeps will now reduce Hero armor, and the reduction has been increased from -10/-20 Armor to -20/-40 Armor. Fallback Towers have the same HP and Attack Damage as Keep Towers. Forts, Keeps, and the Core will no longer grant Allied Heroes that take damage in their radius 35 Armor for 4 seconds. The comeback system has been slightly magnified, particularly at wide level gaps. Alterac Pass Objective capture timer reduced by 5 seconds in each phase. The first phase only spawns a single defending unit. Cavalry now gain more health in the later stages of the game. Cavalry now take 60% damage from structures (up from 50%). Braxis Holdout Early objectives have lowered in health by 15%, but scaling has been increased significantly after 15 minutes. Garden of Terror Garden Terror health scaling increased. Garden Terror structure disabling plant bulb now damages itself at 10% per second (up from 6%). Infernal Shrines Early objectives have lowered in health by 15%, but scaling has been increased significantly after 15 minutes. Warhead Junction Nuke damage has been changed to flat, scaling damage. At 45 hits, gain an additional 75% damage and reduce the cooldown by 2 seconds. Pinnacle Reward: At 75 hits, Lightning Rod provides 2 additional strikes and Stuns for 1.25s on its last strike. Frequent Flyer REWORK: Reduced attack speed bonus from 40% to 25%. Now provides 1 stack per minion and 5 stacks per Hero. At 50 stacks, gain 20 Attack Damage.       General Blackheart's Bay, Hanamura Temple, and Warhead Junction will enter Ranked map rotation in the coming weeks! Forts, Keeps, and the Core will now grant Allied Heroes that take damage in their radius 35 50 Armor for 4 seconds. This effect has a 4 second cooldown and can only be granted to 1 Hero per Structure. While this Armor is in effect, Enemy Heroes that attack the target will be slowed by 20%. Forts, Keeps, and Core will no longer prioritize an Enemy Hero when an Allied Hero is attacked. Mercenary camps now spawn 30 seconds after the match begins (Down from 60 seconds). Small XP globes have been removed. will now vanish if no allied Hero is within 15 radius of the globe. Structure Health increased by 12.5%. When a Hero attacks an enemy structure with a Basic Attack, allied minions near the building become inspired and gain 35% attack speed and 35% move speed for 3 seconds. This does not affect illusions or summons. Minions will now spawn exactly at MM:00 and MM:30. Blackheart's Bay Bombardment now deals 20% reduced damage to Keeps and Cores. Cast time to turn in coins decreased from 7 seconds to 5 seconds. There are now 3 treasure chest locations. The first chest spawns in the top lane during the first phase, two chests spawn in the next three phases, and all three chests spawn every phase after that. There are now watch sight towers near Blackheart. You will now only drop half your coins upon death (rounded down). Only 8 coins are required for the first turn-in, down from 10. Hanamura Payload damage increase by 12.5%. Payload now moves 25% faster. Samurai lane pusher health reduced by 12.5%. Payload deals 20% less damage to the core. Infernal Shrines Punishers will no longer leap over gates. Skeleton minions damage reduced by 25%. Skeleton minions health decreased from 400 to 300. Skeleton minions move speed increased from 3 to 3.5. Skeleton minions now have 20 spell magic Armor. Sky Temple Guardian Mighty Swing knockback duration reduced from 0.5 seconds to 0.375 seconds. Guardian Mighty Swing knockback is now interrupted by other knockback effects. Guardian Mighty Swing knockback speed increased to match previous knockback distance. Guardian Mighty Swing will now interrupt any ongoing knockback effects. Warhead Junction Nukes damage updated to 1000 + 12.5% of target's Max Health (was 2300 damage before). Nukes now ignite structures, dealing 1.2% 0.8% of their Health per second for 10 12 seconds. Attacking the building will refresh the duration up to 5 8 seconds. Nukes now take 2.5 seconds to launch (Up from 1.5 seconds). There will now be fewer nukes that spawn. Garden Of Terror Terror has 12.5% more baseline life. Now displays in the Buff Bar how many hits have occurred on the current attack target, as well as the window before tracking resets. Now progresses prior to dealing damage instead of after dealing damage. Tyrael Level 13 Law and Order Now displays in the Buff Bar. Tyrande Level 4 Mark of Mending Now displays as Mark of Mending in the Death Recap. Uther Level 4 Guardian of Ancient Kings Duration is now increased by talents that grant additional Devotion Armor duration. Level 16 Benediction Fixed an issue that could cause abilities cast while Benediction is active to grant Uther Mana. Valla Base Vault [E] Damage bonus now applies to the next Basic Attack fired. Level 10 Rain of Vengeance Fixed an issue that caused cast visuals to not display correctly. Varian Level 4 Twin Blades of Fury Fixed an issue that caused Twin Blades of Fury to display the wrong cooldown reduction value. Level 20 Glory to the Alliance Fixed an issue that caused Glory to the Alliance to display incorrect cooldown reduction value after selection. Whitemane Level 7 Saintly Greatstaff Marker is no longer removed if Whitemane is Blinded or target is Evading. Zagara Summons are now affected by Defense Matrix and Ultimate Evolution damage modifications. Zarya Targets that enter the splash area between instances of Zarya's Basic Attack hitting the primary target will no longer be hit instantly. Level 7 Deep Burn Energy gained is now bundled together when multiple marked Heroes are hit. Energy is now gained after the primary target and all Splash attack targets have been hit, causing all target to take equal damage when Deep Burn grants Zarya Energy.
