Fury mastery - does it scale better with time?

3 posts in this topic

i have been thinking about fury warriors and our mastery for a while now, and it seems to me that, with better gear, mastery gets closer and closer to strait up beating str 1:1.

I havn't run any real math on this yet, but it seems logical that with str only adding a steady amount of dps and mastery giving us a % increase to our dps, mastery should sooner or later get better then str when we have enough basic dps to support it, and have Thok's Tail Tip

i would like to hear other's thoughts on this.

Yes mastery does improve as you get more gear specifically as you get more crit. As far as reforging and gemming goes, you cant reforge to strength so after hit, expertise (to cap) and crit you take mastery. With gems you get twice as much mastery then strength so it would be a better choice but crit is by far our best stat especially with thoks so no reason to worry about mastery.

Tldr crit is best only time you worry about mastery is reforging after crit, exp, hit.

As aequitas said, mostly. It doesn't matter really whether Str>Mastery or Mastery>Str, because you should almost never have to choose between those two. Since crit is and will stay our best secondary stat for the rest of this expansion (at least) you shouldn't have to worry about the relative weight of mastery.

If you have some more specific questions on this topic feel free to ask :)

      Shocking, I know...
I main protection but in the alternate raids try to Fury. It's embarrassing. My Fury weapon is only level 30 (ilevel 898) so I am missing some traits. That could be where I am losing a lot of dps. Below is a link to the armory and warcraftlogs on the raiders training dummy. Simcraft says I should be somewhere around 500k (I know, embarrassing) but can't seem to crack more than 325k. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

      Hey,
Just wanted some advice on how I can optimize my dps. My ilvl is 885, and have been using specific talents for certain fights. For example, wrecking ball and war machine for Skorpryon. Any tips would be helpful.

This video explains the talents that I've been using or certain fights.

So, I had a concern regarding the recommended battle cry rotation for fury warriors. It says to cast battle cry and avatar, immediately followed by Rampage, then Raging Blow, then Odyn's Fury. I feel like it would be a better idea to use Odyn's Fury before Raging Blow so that you can guarantee that Battle Cry doesn't drop off before Odyn's Fury is done ticking. If it does, some of the ticks won't crit. Thoughts?

I have three trinkets to choose from, Two from Mythic EN, Heightened Senses @ 880, Vial of Nightmare Fog @ 880, and finally from Nightbane Kara i have the Ethereal Urn @875. If any other experienced resto shamans could weigh in and help me make a decision it would be appreciated.

Hey all, I apologize if this is common knowledge, but my rogue is one of my alts and I don't know as much about the class as I'd like. I used to play outlaw just fine, but I'm interested in a strong spec that isn't so RNG dependent. I'm a bit confused as to how much mastery is needed to pull off a poison build vs a bleed a build. The talent guide says to go for poisons if you have a mastery-heavy build. What constitutes a lot of mastery? My rogue is wearing ilvl 847 with 27.79% crit, 7.83% haste, 116.2% mastery, 3.6/1.8% versatility. That is based on recommendations from Ask Mr. Robot. I primarily run mythics and I would like recommendations on the best tier 1 and 6 talent suggestions.
