Patch 8.2.5 Promises a Thrilling Conclusion to the War Campaign

Recommended Posts

Public Test Realms have been updated with a new build of Patch 8.2.5, and the splash screen now shows Sylvanas, and the text mentions Party Sync, updated character models, and most importantly, a thrilling conclusion to Battle for Azeroth's War Campaign.

New Global Strings

  • SPLASH_BATTLEFORAZEROTH_8_2_5_LABEL: New in Patch 8.2.5
  • SPLASH_BATTLEFORAZEROTH_8_2_5_RIGHT_DESC: Lead the charge in the thrilling conclusion to the War Campaign.
  • SPLASH_BATTLEFORAZEROTH_8_2_5_RIGHT_TITLE: War Campaign
  • SPLASH_BATTLEFORAZEROTH_8_2_5_FEATURE1_TITLE: Party Sync
  • SPLASH_BATTLEFORAZEROTH_8_2_5_FEATURE2_TITLE: Updated Character Models
  • SPLASH_BATTLEFORAZEROTH_8_2_5_FEATURE1_DESC: Sync levels and quests with your friends to play together more effectively.

Blizzard also added encrypted cinematics in Build 31812, and it appears that the War Campaign will end sooner than expected. While we don't know what Sylvanas' endgame is, we recently covered a purported screenshot of Stormwind Harbor which refers to the Shadowlands. What do you think is going to happen in Patch 8.2.5? Will there be another chapter of the War Campaign in Patch 8.3? Let us known down in the comments!

Five torches light the way, was it? Let us count:

  • Orgrimmar - sacked in the Siege of Orgrimmar
  • Undercity - destroyed by blight in the Battle for Lordaeron
  • Darnassus - burned by Sylvanas
  • Thunderbluff - burned by Sylvanas?
  • Stormwind - razed during the next raid?

Those were the Pillars of Creation.

I am just preparing for disappointment at this stage. Considering how else the writing have gone, I get the feeling that they will come out and go "Look guys, we told you it wouldn't be like Garrosh at all. He were fought in a final patch, inside Orgrimmar, and Sylvanas is fought in Thunder Bluff in a .5 patch. It's completely different!"

"Now get ready for 8.3, where we take all the massive build up to N'zoth and the Black Empire, and conclude it abruptly. We know from Argus that everyone loves it when we do that."

I thought so too, still could be of course, but the imagery of "torches" makes me think of burning cities.

I still think its the pilllars but good eye.  I never thought of it.

Time to lock the gates of Ironforge, before something happens there...

Ironforge is built around a fire already, I would expect them to have some protocols in place...  But even if she went with blight bombs, IF is probably the most defensible city in WoW.  Shut down the tram, put some barriers on the path up, and shut the doors.  And plenty of gnomes to eat!

I wonder if Blizzard understands words at all.

I find it quite entertaining to see sheep comment the same as other trolls. Sure companies do fail every now and then to deliver the desired product, however it is simply impossible to please all (these days anyone at all, complaining is a huge hobby for gamers). Now, if Blizzard is as bad as you say they are, other gaming companies out there are truly doomed, because most of them can't really compared themselves to Blizzards standards and products (I only refer to the Blizzard only products, not COD, Destiny etc.). Times changes my friend, and games changes - do not be so afraid of it. You come of as the 'back in the days it was all so good' type. Not going to drag politics in here, but might be possible to quess where you are in that matter too based on your single sentence.

Game Director Ion Hazzikostas has confirmed that the Dracthyr race will have more class options in The War Within. However, this feature may not be ready in time for the expansion's launch.
This update was highlighted in a tweet by MrGM, who shared insights from a London content creator interview about the Dracthyr.
The plan is to introduce the ability for Dracthyr to play as other classes in War Within. Emphasis on playing in Visage form. Required animations for other classes are actively being worked on. The implementation is unlikely to happen at launch, but targeted for early in the expansion cycle. Placeholder for tweet 1780748422066188399
