Great Vault Loot from Mythic+ Explained

Recommended Posts

We are looking at how the Great Vault loot from Mythic dungeons is calculated.

The Great Vault is the equivalent of the Weekly Chest in Shadowlands. It has 3 categories and gives you up to 9 item choices each week, but you can only select one.

To unlock all 3 item options in the Mythic Dungeons section, you must complete 10 Mythic Keystone dungeons in a single week, but how are the item levels determined?

C4KVGSLDNUPN1607049470785.jpg

The item level of rewards in the category is determined by the lowest level of your top 1, 4, or 10 dungeons for that week.

To better help you better grasp this, Reddit user sti_carza visualized how the item level will change when you complete additional keystone dungeons.

Let's assume you've completed 10 dungeons and unlocked 3 items to choose from. Everything boils down to your 1st/4th/10th run.

1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th
14 13 11 11 9 7 7 7 7 2

In the above scenario, your 10th best run is Keystone level 2, so the Great Vault would offer Item Level 226 (Slot 1), 220 (Slot 2), and 200 (Slot 3) items.

Difficulty Level End-of-Run Item Level Weekly Reward Item Level
Mythic +1 183 0
Mythic +2 187 200
Mythic +3 190 203
Mythic +4 194 207
Mythic +5 194 210
Mythic +6 197 210
Mythic +7 200 213
Mythic +8 200 216
Mythic +9 200 216
Mythic +10 204 220
Mythic +11 204 220
Mythic +12 207 223
Mythic +13 207 223
Mythic +14 207 226
Mythic +15 210 226

However, if you decide to complete one additional Keystone level 7, your 10th best dungeon would change to 7, so the Great Vault would then offer Item Level 226, 220, and 213 items.

1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th
14 13 11 11 9 7 7 7 7 7

Something really important to keep in mind is that if you finished a +12 at the end of the week, it would have the same effect as a +7 would because the new best 10 dungeons would look like this:

1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th
14 13 12 11 11 9 7 7 7 7

Even though you complete a +12, the 1st/4th/10th positions remain unchanged.

This seems really convoluted.     Not sure why Blizzard doesn't simply give you a choice of 3 226 items...barring an incredible trinket or weapon, the 226 option is almost always going to be the best option.   And if there is a weapon or trinket (or you already have a 226 in that slot), it just feels bad, like you didn't try hard enough despite doing 10 flipping Mythic+ in a single week.

If you only do say Mists 10 times that week all 14's for the 3 rewards will it only be loot from mists or can it be from any dungeon you've completed via mythic? I cannot find any information on this question anywhere.

I've received items from Raids I've never done. Unless I'm incorrect, the item pool is completely random from both dungeons and raids.

Items you get from vault are rolled from all avaible instances. If you do 10x14 MoTS you still can get 226 item from PF or SOA or any other instance.

You got 3 lines of items. 1st Line is for Raid, 2nd for Dungeon mythic keystones and 3rd for pvp. If you defeat 9 bosses from raid you will be able to choose from 3 items from Raid, same with 10 mythic keystones and earning 6250honor from rated BG.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
