Final Castle Nathria 9.1 DPS, Tank and Healer Log Rankings

Recommended Posts

The first week of 9.1 and the final week of Castle Nathria being current content is pretty much done and we can now take a look at the effects of the major class tuning that came with the patch.

IMPORTANT NOTE: While the logs do reflect the class changes of the new patch, the encounters are still in Castle Nathria, and the way the specs perform will change with the new Sanctum of Domination bosses.

Spec Representation

Now that we've had basically a full week of logs, it's also important to note which specs were underplayed, so we can get a more realistic idea of the new numbers. The most important data point here are Frost DKs, who are VERY high in the high percentile rankings, but only have 500 logs registered. That is very low and skews the data, as a small number of really well-performing players can affect the results. Other extremely low played specs are Outlaw, Enhancement, Arms, Feral, Affliction, Subtlety and, the king of low player numbers for a long time now, Survival. The most played specs are Balance, Marksmanship and Shadow.

Mythic Rankings

We've had quite a few changes since the day 1 rankings, however the very top spec remains unchanged and it's looking like 9.1 might just be the patch of the Shadow Priest for raiding! Elemental has been rising for quite a while even before the new patch, and it's now sitting in 2nd place, as the low-representation Frost DK rounds out the top 3. Assassination and Retribution stay very high, as Windwalker and Unholy follow them, but Enhancement's No.7 spot is in question due to the low player count. The other two Mage specs hang around the middle, as Fire has fallen completely off, landing in penultimate position, just before the ever-last Survival.

The other DK spec, Unholy, did much better in the more generalist rankings, and its results are far more solid considering the many more players that played it, as Assassination also did much better here than with the top players, with the two specs landing at No.3 and 2, respectively. The rest is fairly similar to the 95th percentile, with Elemental dropping a bit and Fire actually being at the very bottom here.

Healers and Tanks

While the DPS and HPS stats for Tanks and Healers aren't that significant, certainly not compared to the DPS specs, we'll still take a look to see how much they changed. We'll start with the healers as HPS is a bit more of a significant stat than DPS is for tanks, where Mistweavers have proven not to be a 1-day fad and are leading the charge, although just barely, as the top 3 specs are incredibly close.

In the tank DPS department, the only change since day 1 is Protection Warriors dropping down to the bottom, as Paladins move a bit further ahead.

Heroic DPS Rankings, Overall Damage

We don't have to worry about player counts and spec representation in Heroic, as there are many logs to be had there.

Sanctum of Domination opens tomorrow on Normal and Heroic, so we'll have some interesting things to look at soon, but the above should still be a pretty solid indication of the specs relative strength in general.

As always, if you want even more info on a spec, you can check out our class guides here, or for even more data, head on over to Warcraft Logs.

Dragonflight does not include Threads of Fate, but we've got some details on how alt leveling works in the new expansion.
      Leveling Your Main Character
Leveling up the first character is linear, and you must complete the zones in the following order:
The Waking Shores > Ohn'ahran Plains > The Azure Span > Thaldraszus.
      Leveling Your Alts
When you complete the Dragonflight campaign on your main character, you can pick any of the four Dragon Isles zones for leveling and you will have World Quests and Side Quests unlocked on your alts.
Thanks to MrGM for the screenshots.
