Sepulcher of the First Ones Heroic DPS Log Rankings, Week 2: Year of the Spear?

Recommended Posts

We're back with the 2nd week of the Sepulcher Heroic (with a tiny peek at Mythic as well) where the top players are feeling very pointy. There's a lot of changes all over the place as it to be expected in these early weeks, as we await the advent of double legendaries that will once again change everything.

Note: The rankings may be heavily impacted by the availability of tier set bonuses. And even though the numbers are high enough to potentially offset that, and it's similar to any loot being gained throughout the raid, the benefits are large enough that they may affect the standings.

The 2nd week is looking a little different than before, as green has taken over at the top! The long-memed about Year of the Spear may finally be here (at least until double legendaries arrive), as Survival has finally hit the top! Many were talking about this possibility before the raid and now it's here, as the Hunter spec is joined by a much more familiar face in Windwalker, and No.3 is another surprising and huge leap, with Demonology just showing up a little out of nowhere. Fury then finds itself 3 spots down to welcome the newcomers, as Affliction makes a giant return from dead last place in the previous week, and Frost DKs don't drop that much and are still riding very high. Balance also proves it didn't quite just fall of the face of the earth post-patch, and Enhancement keeps enjoying not being at the bottom for once. Speaking of the bottom, we see Feral, Destruction and Shadow down there, soon joined by two Rogue specs, and the premiere yellow one is also not that far above, not even breaking to the middle of the pack.

All Percentiles

We aren't seeing quite as much change in the generalist bracket from last week, and while Survival is solidly high here as well (in 6th), it's nowhere near its position in the high percentiles. Windwalkers gained ground here as well, pushing Frost DKs down one, and Unholy actually did drop off the face of the earth, way down into 19th for a 14 spot free-fall. Demonology is on the rise here as well and Enhancement is doing better than in the upper percentiles, while Affliction also digs itself out of the gutter and lands in 8th. Havoc actually rises a few spots to close out the top 10, and Balance ends up just outside it, salvaging some dignity.

And finally, here's a peek at Mythic - and although it's very irrelevant at this point, with only 7 bosses down and around 200ish guilds even having killed anything in there, I thought it might make some Hunters very happy to see (and like 1 Warlock that apparently killed it this week):

The new War Within Allied Races was added to the Alpha today and we already have a full look at not only all their customization options, but their dances as well, courtesy of MrGM! You can check out the Earthen's racial abilities here if you missed them earlier.
Let's start with the more dynamic feature, with both male and female dances:
And then there's big amount of customization options, as well as a size comparison with regular dwarves:

So, are we liking the new Allied Race overall? More than actual dwarves?

Here's a really cool possibility for the War Within, as a very subtle and mildly mysterious comment from Executive Producer and Vice President for WoW, Holly Longdale, may be hinting at our Warband characters getting a lot more involved in our travels!
First spotted by UlthansWrath, Longdale came up to Taliesin & Evitel at the recent London War Within Alpha press event and had a short chat about the Warband screen, when she casually said "wouldn't it be cool if those were the characters you took as your followers in your Follower Dungeons?" After the obvious confirmation from Taliesin and Evitel that, yes, yes it would be cool, she just said "hm" and that was the end of the conversation.
Obviously this isn't any sort of official confirmation, but considering this is a really awesome idea, it seems likely Blizzard are at the very least discussing it, if not already working on it.

The Warband system is already great, and this would add a lot to it for players that choose to go solo into dungeons, as it would give them even more motivation to get some great characters in their Warband - even if it was just a cosmetic option.
So, what do you think, will we be seeing this feature when the War Within launches?
