Sepulcher of the First Ones Heroic DPS Log Rankings, Week 5: Warlock O'Clock

With the second week of double legendaries, as well as a solid bit of class tuning behind us, everything has settled down a little as many more players also got their full tier sets, so this look back at the past week should be fairly indicative of how things stand in Heroic. We'll also do our usual peek into Mythic, but with only 7 guilds having downed the Jailer still, it won't be really that reliable for a while yet.

Heroic

95th Percentile

Warlocks are doing very well this week, and as Demonology moves ahead even more at the very top we also have a giant chunk of movement from Destruction, as it skyrockets into 4th place, leaping 16 spots from a bottom position last week! We did see a 5% overall damage increase in the latest tuning pass, but this is a much bigger move than that, so it's possible that more players took up Destro after that announcement (and the most likely explanation being a few amazing parses getting them this high). Survival also finds itself very high, moving up 1 spot and completing he top 3, with Marksmanship rounding out the Warlock-Hunter crew at the top, with Balance getting pushed down a couple spots. The Shamans stick together in spots 7 and 8, as Elemental reclaims a lot of lost ground and leaps 6 spots as Enh had to make room for the two newcomers. The top 10 is rounded out by some more relatively unfamiliar faces, with Shadow and Frost Mage rising up. We then move on to the usual/old "top" specs, with Rogues and Warriors all in the lower half of the rankings, as Havoc creates a sort of barrier between the newcomers on top (aside from Balance) and the old guard below.

All Percentiles

Demo and Frost DK seem pretty stable as the top 2 in both the high percentiles and the generalist bracket, but the rest is quite different here, with Havoc taking the bronze, Balance holding on much more firmly, and Survival rising slightly. Destro is still down below the middle of the pack here, but it still rose a lot from last week (8 spots), as it was dead last then. Enhancement only drops 1 spot, as Marksmanship rises 1, and the Shadow-Frost Mage combo sticks together 1 spot higher than in the 95th percentile, with Subtletly closing out the top 10. Fire remains at the bottom in all brackets and is joined by Affliction this week, but Feral makes a big run for it, rising 5 spots towards the middle of the pack.

Mythic

Mythic is VERY purple at the moment, with 3 Warlocks in the top 4, as Survival holds strong and is still trying to make the year of the spear happen. Frost DKs didn't go very far from their Heroic domination either, but Elemental is outperforming Enhancement here. With so few guilds having actually gotten  high up on the Mythic boss kill list, we aren't getting the full picture here, so we'll have to wait a bit more for helpful Mythic rankings, however.

We have a very Dracthyr-looking piece of concept art from way back pre-Vanilla, as xperio28 spotted a bulkier version of the new race coming in Dragonflight in the Art of World of Warcraft book!
There's been a lot of talk about the look of the Dracthyr, mostly focusing on their size and bulkiness, and while the art below almost certainly isn't of this specific race, as it was made pre-Vanilla WoW, it's looking very similar:

      Source: xperio28.
The text is very hard to make out, but enigmapenguin and YendorWons in the thread may have figured it out, at least partially:
Greater whelp grown to man size will hunt other dragon whelps then larger dragons feed on The whole "feed on" aspect is particularly interesting, as there's plenty of speculation going around on whether or not Galakrond, the OG dragon-eater will have something to do with Dragonflight's story (especially with the potential for the Infinite dragonflight's involvement).
We've have plenty of bipedal dragon-like creatures in WoW over the years so the connection isn't direct, but it is interesting to see how far back the idea of playable-looking dragon race goes, especially since we know the original plan was to have many more playable races, including naga.
