Shadowlands 9.2 Season 3 Mythic+ DPS Log Rankings: Week 5

Recommended Posts

It's been a while since we took a look at the Mythic+ DPS logs, but now that double legendaries have been here a while, we can get a proper view of what's been going on over the past 2 weeks! We have some old faces on top but also plenty of newcomers in this mixed bag, but one thing is certain now: the "year" of the spear is upon us!

Note: The logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

These past 2 week were:
Fortified Fortified
, Inspiring Inspiring, Grievous Grievous
Tyrannical Tyrannical, Spiteful Spiteful, Necrotic Necrotic (and Encrypted Encrypted)

All Keys

95th percentile

While the raid rankings are very much in flux and have been since the patch released, we see a mix of old and new faces in the dungeons, as Subtlety is not letting go of its throne any time soon, and Fire isn't quite as down in the dumps as in the Sepulcher. Demonology is the big recent breakthrough, as it sits in No.2 while Frost takes the Mage crown at No.3. Survival lives its year of the spear dreams here as well as in the raid, while Windwalkers are still hanging on, perhaps not as high as in their glory days, but still in a very respectable spot. Destruction also had a big bump after the double legendaries arrived, and the second half of the top 10 sees many regulars hanging around, from Fury to Fire, with Shadow closing it all out.

All Percentiles

The generalist bracket is very much the same as the top percentiles one, with Windwalkers and Fury doing slightly better and Destruction not having quite caught up with the times here. Arcane is also in a much better position here at No.10, as Affliction is completely out of the loop in both brackets, right down at the very bottom.

High Keys

+15 Keys

The +15s keep their tradition of being extremely close, with the first and last spec being almost the same, but Survival is still carrying the year of the spear flag high at the very top, and Affliction is re-confirming its lackluster status at the bottom.

+20 Keys

The +20ies are pretty stable and have the same top 3 as the top and all percentiles brackets, just re-arranged, with Survival coming out on top. Demonology is all caught-up here as well as in the +15s, so it seems it's just the lower keys where players aren't quite aware of it's recovery quite yet.

Blizzard have decided to scrap the initially planned button that would re-configure the pillars inside the Enigma Arena, and it will launch as it it right now on the 9.2.5 PTR, with a static configuration.
      Engima Arena (Source)
As we previously mentioned, our initial intention was to release the Enigma Crucible with a unique mechanic, a central button that allowed players to manipulate the pillar configuration throughout a match. During implementation, we found some concerns like pathing and line-of-sight issues that could have sporadically affected players and some of their class abilities. So to provide the best play experience and avoid potential frustrations, we have decided to go forward with the version that is currently available on the 9.2.5 PTR which has a single pillar configuration that remains locked throughout the match. We do not plan to pursue the initial version at this time.
Thank you for your understanding and we’ll see you in the Arena.

We're checking back in with Mythic+ and have a fresh old face back in the top 3, with two of the classic M+ specs setting up shop at the very top, and Destruction having a look in as well.
While the very top remains the same as it's been for a LONG time, with Subtlety reigning over everyone, we see a big shift in No.2 with Fire returning to the top after a long absence, pushing Destruction out of the way. Survival drops 2 spots as the AoE nerf takes effect, while Windwalkers remain steady in 5th. The numbers drop off quite a bit after the top 5, and we see Frost Mage and Demonology switch spots, as well as Fury and Havoc rise up together and push Marksmanship down into the final top 10 slot. The bottom remains pretty much identical, with Rogues, Druids and Shamans clustering up together for warmth.

Interestingly enough, Fire is actually doing worse than last time we checked in the generalist bracket, as it drops 1 spot down to 4, with Destruction taking its place in the top 3, as Subtlety and Survival stay on top. Windwalker moves up two and claims the final top 5 spot, pushing Marksmanship and Demonology down one, while the tail end of the top 10 remains the same.

      +15 Keys
Old faithful, the +15 bracket is as solid as a rock and just as interesting, as you'd need a microscope to see the differences here. Within these microscopic changes, we see Survival remain on top as Windwalker takes 2nd from Subtlety, and Arcane actually moves up quite a bit and slips into the top 10.

      +20 Keys
Windwalkers are making some moves in the high keys, as they take 2nd from Destruction and knock Subtlety down to 4th. Fury is moving up for a change, after a long period of stagnation all over, taking 7th and replacing Demo, while Enhancement and Assassination make some serious moves up, as they round out the top 10 four spots higher than last time we checked.

Although the vast majority of quests surrounding Calia Menethil are encrypted in Patch 9.2.5, there's one named "Eyes of the Wolf" which isn't. This post contains mild spoilers.
"The Eyes of the Wolf" quest isn't currently encrypted on the PTR. The player must meet Calia Menethil in Brill and spy on the Forsaken because they're gathering in Tirisfal for an unknown purpose...
      Quest Objectives
Meet Calia Menethil in Brill, Tirisfal Glades.
Speak to Gilnean Greymage for a teleport. Quest Description
An alarming rumor has reached me, thanks to our spies. The Forsaken are mustering in Tirisfal Glades. For what purpose, I do not know. Notably, Calia Menethil has gone there as well. We must know more of what they are up to, now that the accursed Banshee Queen no longer unites them. Go, don a disguise and see what you can discover. Observe everything. And if there is an opportunity to gain their trust and learn more, do as they ask. I eagerly await your report.
We saw Calia Menethil beside other Horde leaders in the Shadowlands intro experience. Will Calia Menethil lead the Forsaken in Patch 9.2.5?

The Forsaken story remains a mystery because Blizzard uses more sophisticated encryption techniques in Patch 9.2.5 that hide entire stories, maybe even an Allied Race.

Blizzard made some changes to the new Season 4 affix in the latest Patch 9.2.5 build. In this post, we are recapping all the information available about Shrouded so far.
The new Season 4 affix is no longer called Disguised. It was renamed to Shrouded and the placeholder description was updated to the following:
Shrouded - Nathrezim infiltrators have disguised themselves among enemies throughout the dungeon. Cartel Ta will reward you handsomely for assisting in their capture. How Does the Season 4 Affix Work?
At the beginning of each Mythic+ Dungeon, there is a bounty hunter NPC who offers you Critical Strike/Haste/Mastery/Versatility buffs for each dreadlords you help capture, stacking up to 20 times.
Bounty: Critical Strike - Critical Strike increased by 2% for each dreadlord captured. This effect stacks. Bounty: Haste - Haste increased by 2% for each dreadlord captured. This effect stacks. Bounty: Mastery - Mastery increased by 2% for each dreadlord captured. This effect stacks. Bounty: Versatility - Versatility increased by 2% for each dreadlord captured. This effect stacks. After you make your choice, you will be granted a 2% buff to the secondary stat of your choice.
      Nathrezim Infiltrators
Throughout the dungeons, some NPCs will have a purple aura and the Disguised debuff. These will transform into Nathrezim Infiltrators when you enter combat. Nathrezim Infiltrators replace regular trash mobs in dungeons, so this might directly affect Mythic routes.

When the dreadlord is captured you will receive another +2% secondary stat increase (on top of what you had at the beginning, as this buff stacks up to 20. Shortly after the dreadlord is captured, you'll receive another buff which restores 6% health and mana every second for 3 seconds.
Restoration - Restoring 6% health and mana every 1 sec. What Abilities do Nathrezim Infiltrators Use?
Nathrezim Infiltrators will use 3 abilities. The first one is a frontal cone which reduces healing received for a short duration, the second one heals the dreadlord for a portion of the damage inflicted and the third one puts the player into a statis.
Vampiric Claws - Strikes the target inflicting 50 Shadow damage and healing for [ 10,000% of E1 ]% of the damage dealt. (20 yd range, 3 sec cooldown, 1.5 sec cast)
Carrion Swarm - Inflicts 35 Shadow damage to enemies in front of the dreadlord and reduces healing received by 25% for 10 sec. (100 yd range, 3 sec cooldown, 2.5 sec cast)
Nightmare Cloud - Creates a wandering Nightmare Cloud for until cancelled. Coming into contact with a Nightmare Cloud afflicts players with [email protected] (3 sec cooldown, 2 sec cast)
Nathrezim Infiltrators cannot be stunned or death-gripped. The spells are not interruptible.

Oribos has been updated with portals to three locations in Patch 9.2.5 to make traveling between the dungeons in Shadowlands Season 4 more seamless.
Season 4 dungeon rotation includes dungeons from previous expansions, which is why Blizzard added 3 new portals on the upper floor of Oribos. The portals are located between the Flight Master and the gate to Ardenweald.

      A new NPC named Ta'piks <Exotic Portals> is surrounded by 3 portals.
The first one leads to Gorgrond, the second one to Karazhan, and the third one will port you to Mechagon.
