Everything We Know About Dracthyr Evokers in Dragonflight

Recommended Posts

We're looking at everything we know about Dracthyr Evokers so far, base on MrGM's latest video.

  • The Evoker class is exclusive to the Dracthyr race.
  • According to an interview, there's a chance Dracthyr might "gain access to other classes in the future".
  • Dracthyr Evokers are coming in the Dragonflight pre-patch.
  • You can only create one Dracthyr Evoker per realm because they start at level 58.
  • Dracthyr Evokers start in a new zone located on the Dragon Isles called Forbidden Reach. The Dracthyr Evoker starting zone will be available to all players later on in the expansion.
  • Dracthyr Evokers will receive talents by completing quests in the starting zone, akin to the Death Knights.
  • Racials for the new race/class combo include a wing buffet which knocks you back and a tail swipe, which is a knock up.
  • Dracthyr Evokers will have two forms -- a humanoid visage and a draconic form. Both will be customizable.
  • The most combat will happen in dragon form, but they are looking in some abilities being done in the visage form.
  • The visage form will have all gear visible, but the armor visible in dragon form will be limited.
  • Dracthyr Evokers have wings and can fly.
  • Youe will select your faction upon character creation.
  • Dracthyr Evokers wear Mail armor.
  • Evokers have two specializations -- a healing one and a dps one. The devs said they aren't against adding a third spec in the very far future, but it probably wouldn't be a tanking spec.
  • Dracthyr Evokers have a new type of ability called Empowered, letting you charge up your attacks and unleash them when they charge up to maximize their effect.
  • Evokers have a resource called Essence. It regenerates over time just like Energy.

This post is based on MrGM's latest video that you can watch below. For more information about Dracthyr Evokers, check out our Evoker class overview.

Are they still going to have to master their dragon mount? Some draconic transformation would look much better. These racials can be very strong, depending on their actual range. Not to mention if they open up this race to other classes.

I really really hope they add a few more slots above the 50 limit. Or allow us to buy a few extra slots.

Funny how they made DKs and DHs start at 8 while this new class gets to start at 58.

I can't see why they wouldn't - down the road - allow them to be cloth classes, at the very least. Perhaps even rogues and warriors. Though shield on back would be a clipping nightmare I'd imagine.

DKs and DHs originally started roughly 10 levels under the cap, only in later expansions did they lower their respective starting levels. After an xpac or two that will probably also happen with evokers.

I'm aware, I played WoW since the tail end of BC, but now they're expected to level through 10-60 like allied races while the dracthyr start 2 levels below current cap.

If you have a linked account- i.e. two accounts under one email- can you have a 2 Dracthyr on the same server just on each of the accounts or does the game count that server as the same server on the accounts? I hope I worded that right.

Account has Wow 1 and Wow 2 linked to the email. You create a Dracthyr on the Wow 1 account on the server Illidan. Can you then go to Wow 2 and create a second Dracthyr on Illidan as well?

A player in World of Warcraft tried out how many times they could fit the word "Silvermoon" into everything game-related and the result is pretty amazing.
Heavily inspired by the Revolver Ocelot meme, we present you Sílvermoon of Silvermoon member of the Silvermoon guild located on the Silvermoon server in Silvermoon City!

Now let us break things down a bit to make this less confusing:
The character's name is Sílvermoon. They obtained the "of Silvermoon" title from Exalted Champion of Silvermoon City. The player plays on a server named Silvermoon and is a member of the Silvermoon guild. The player is located in Silvermoon City.
Next, Sílvermoon summoned a companion who also happens to be called Silvermoon.

And to conclude everything on an epic note, Silvermoon (the companion) received a silver moon mark above its head...

On May 6, we reported about the world first player who earned level 99 in the first Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Season 1. Now, another player achieved the same feat but on Hardcore. Congratulations to EazyE!
While the video isn't available on Twitch yet, we have a snapshot from the leaderboard confirming the world first.

Blizzard have decided to scrap the initially planned button that would re-configure the pillars inside the Enigma Arena, and it will launch as it it right now on the 9.2.5 PTR, with a static configuration.
      Engima Arena (Source)
As we previously mentioned, our initial intention was to release the Enigma Crucible with a unique mechanic, a central button that allowed players to manipulate the pillar configuration throughout a match. During implementation, we found some concerns like pathing and line-of-sight issues that could have sporadically affected players and some of their class abilities. So to provide the best play experience and avoid potential frustrations, we have decided to go forward with the version that is currently available on the 9.2.5 PTR which has a single pillar configuration that remains locked throughout the match. We do not plan to pursue the initial version at this time.
Thank you for your understanding and we’ll see you in the Arena.

We're checking back in with Mythic+ and have a fresh old face back in the top 3, with two of the classic M+ specs setting up shop at the very top, and Destruction having a look in as well.
Note: The logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      These past 2 weeks were:

      Fortified, Spiteful, Necrotic
      Tyrannical, Inspiring, Quaking (and Encrypted)
      All Keys
      95th percentile
While the very top remains the same as it's been for a LONG time, with Subtlety reigning over everyone, we see a big shift in No.2 with Fire returning to the top after a long absence, pushing Destruction out of the way. Survival drops 2 spots as the AoE nerf takes effect, while Windwalkers remain steady in 5th. The numbers drop off quite a bit after the top 5, and we see Frost Mage and Demonology switch spots, as well as Fury and Havoc rise up together and push Marksmanship down into the final top 10 slot. The bottom remains pretty much identical, with Rogues, Druids and Shamans clustering up together for warmth.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
Interestingly enough, Fire is actually doing worse than last time we checked in the generalist bracket, as it drops 1 spot down to 4, with Destruction taking its place in the top 3, as Subtlety and Survival stay on top. Windwalker moves up two and claims the final top 5 spot, pushing Marksmanship and Demonology down one, while the tail end of the top 10 remains the same.
Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      High Keys
      +15 Keys
Old faithful, the +15 bracket is as solid as a rock and just as interesting, as you'd need a microscope to see the differences here. Within these microscopic changes, we see Survival remain on top as Windwalker takes 2nd from Subtlety, and Arcane actually moves up quite a bit and slips into the top 10.

Mythic+15 All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      +20 Keys
Windwalkers are making some moves in the high keys, as they take 2nd from Destruction and knock Subtlety down to 4th. Fury is moving up for a change, after a long period of stagnation all over, taking 7th and replacing Demo, while Enhancement and Assassination make some serious moves up, as they round out the top 10 four spots higher than last time we checked.
