Shadowlands Season 4 Fated Raid Mythic DPS Log Rankings, Week 4: Nathria

Recommended Posts

Clipboard02.jpg

Castle Nathria was back this past week in the Fated schedule, with new affixes and some new log rankings! While the top dog remains at the top, there have been other changes we'll be checking out, including a very stable and very highly placed Retribution!

An important note before we begin: as the Fated raids are switching out each week, our comparisons to the previous weeks will be a little less relevant, but we'll still mention it for context - just keep in mind it won't be a direct comparison from week to week as it was before.

Mythic

95th Percentile

While the Warlocks keep ahead of the pack, only Demonology is doing really well, pulling away from every single other spec massively, while Destruction is neck and neck with the following few. While gold and silver remain the same despite the raid swap, bronze sees a big change, as Elemental gets into its Nathria groove, jumping a huge 8 spots from its lackluster Sepulcher performance. Unholy also makes good use of the newly rotated raid, as is swoops past fellow DK Frost, as well as 3 other specs on its way up into 4th.

Said Frost remains solid through the raid swap, only losing that 1 spot to Unholy, and the big news of last week's rankings - Retribution - has proven not to be a fluke! The DPS Paladins are still doing extremely well, remaining in 6th and showcasing some real staying power. As the first raid of the Shadowlands returned, so did the absolute ruler of Mythic+ for the longest time, as Fire pushed through 7 other specs to land behind the Paladins, in 7th. Survival is one of the bigger losers of this week's switch, dropping 4. It's followed by Fury and Affliction with a very different story, both specs rising quite a bit - 3 for the Warrior and an insane 14 for the Warlock, as Affliction was dead last in the Sepulcher. Speaking of dead last, that honor belongs to Havoc this time around, as its joined by both Druid specs in the bottom 3.

All Percentiles

Elemental is doing even better in the generalist bracket, landing just underneath Demo and rising 8 spots from the Sepulcher. Unholy also excels here, replacing Frost in 3rd (apparently there must always be... a DK in 3rd?), with Survival only dropping 2 in 4th. Outlaw is still very much in the game in the generalist bracket, staying in the exact same spot as last week, despite its large fall in the upper percentiles. Fury is also doing much better here, gaining 5 spots and landing in 6th, just ahead of Destro which is down 3. Frost is doing worse than in the high percentiles, but better than last week as it rises 2, followed by Retribution and a surprising Shadow to close out the top 10. Feral lands in last place, joined by Arcane and Havoc.

Heroic

The big numbers stat block, Heroic, re-confirms Demonology as the undisputed patch 9.2.7 and Season 4 king, with Outlaw definitely being the biggest winner after 9.2.5, even managing to snag 2nd place this past week. Shadow really likes Nathria it seems, as it rises 3 into 3rd here, followed by the now expected high placements of Survival and Unholy. Arms drops a little, Fire rises a lot, beast Mastery still shocks with a top 10 placement, as Retribution and Enhancement close out the 10 best specs. The bottom is reserved for yellow, as Outlaw seems to have hogged all the Rogue juice, leaving Assassination and Subtletly to die at the end of the list.

The second Catalyst charge is available this week on live servers, allowing you to convert an eligible Season 3 item into an Amirdrassil Tier Set piece.
If you haven't completed your 2/4 set bonuses yet, you will gain access to a new Catalyst charge this week. All you have to do is head to Antuka at 59 53 in Thaldraszus/Tyrhold. There's also an intro quest in Valdrakken for the first charge, but I'm not sure if there's one for the second charge too, so I'm highlighting the exact location here.

When will additional Catalyst charges become available in Season 3?
Third charge: Week of December 12. Fourth charge: Week of December 26. Fifth charge: Week of January 9. Sixth charge: Week of January 23.

The World First Mythic Fyrakk kill triggered Fyr'alath to start dropping in the whole region next reset and in our latest post, we're looking at how to get the Legendary weapon!
Fyr'alath the Dreamrender will start dropping on live servers starting with the weekly reset, but the Legendary Axe comes in different stages and effects.
The initial legendary consumable drops from Fyrakk. Apparently, it has an increased drop chance on higher difficulties. Once equipped, players will be overwhelmed with shadowflame (Fyr'alath the Dreamrender) and must embark on a questline to unlock the item level 500 Legendary axe.
The axe comes with two effects (please note the placeholder values):
Rage of Fyr'alath - Unleash the Rage of Fyr'alath to charge towards your target and swing repeatedly, dealing 0 Shadowflame damage over 3 sec to all who would stand in your way. (Instant, 25 yd range, 2 min cooldown) Fyr'alath the Dream Render - Your attacks apply Mark of Fyr'alath, dealing 0 Shadowflame damage over 15 sec. Upon activation, Fyr'alath draws in the flames from all marks to increase its damage by 10%. Upon equipping the consumable that drops from Fyrakk, you will receive a quest and must visit a Shadowflame expert named Eadweard Dalyngrigge, located in Thaldraszus who will tell you to gather 3 components to withstand the heat so you can equip the weapon. This is very similar to the Evoker Legendary Questline.
You must get the following items obtainable from professions/crafting:
Erden's Glowspore Grip (Leatherworking) Lydiara's Binding Rune (Inscription) Shalasar's Sophic Vellum (Enchanting) However, they are to as easy to get as you may think...
To craft Erden's Dreamleaf Grip, you will need:
400 Zaralek Glowspores 3 Obsidian Cobraskin 5 Dreaming Essence 50 Mireslush Hide 1 Prototype Dreamleaf Grip To receive 1 Prototype Dreamleaf Grip, you must gather 200 Shadowed Dreamleaves from Superblooms.
The next item you will need is Lydiara's Binding Rune. This requires:
10 Shadowflame Essence 250 Cosmic Ink 50 Runed Writhebark 1 Prototype Binding Rune You must collect 50 Taut Tethercoils from Emerald Dream Rares to receive 1 Prototype Binding Rune. This isn't a 100% drop rate, so this quest may take a while to complete.
The final item is Shalasar's Sophic Vellum. Crafting it requires the following reagents:
150 Awakened Fire 100 Awakened Earth 50 Awakened Order 200 Resonant Crystal 1 Prototype Order Vellum Finally, you must gather 20 Radiant Flecks of Ash from powerful gear with Ashen Dowsing Rod. Basically, you're disenchanting Season 3 gear for quest items here. Once you've accrued 20 pieces, you will get 1 Prototype Order Vellum.
Once you have all 3 items, you can presumably wield the Legendary Axe, but nobody has obtained it yet on live servers, so there may be some additional steps and quests that we haven't covered here.

We have some additional smaller changes to a few classes in PvE and PvP in today's hotfixes, as well as dungeon and raid adjustments, and Emerald Bounty change, as well as some quest fixes that have been in place a while, and more.

      Classes
Monk Mistweaver The 2-piece class set Chi Harmony now only increases healing taken from Monk abilities. The 4-piece class set Chi Harmony no longer accumulates healing taken by Revitalizing Voodoo Totem. Paladin Protection Fixed an issue causing Cleansing Flame to deal incorrect damage and healing when cast on a target with vulnerability or increased healing taken. Warlock Demonology Fixed an issue where Soul Strike would be relearned whenever Felguard is summoned. Felguard should now prioritize using Soul Strike once it’s off cooldown. Dungeons and Raids
Darkheart Thicket Fixed an issue that caused Oakheart’s Crushing Grip damage to pierce immunities. Galakrond’s Fall Interval no longer triggers on-death affixes. Subtlety Fixed an issue that prevented Eviscerate from dealing bonus shadow damage with Shadowed Finishers talented. Quests
Fixed an issue where Dragon Isles Drakes: White Scales were not awarded when completing the quest “Time to Process”. Players that have already completed the quest will receive the item via mail. Players who did not receive the intended weekly amount of Echoed Ephemera for “The Power of Dreams” will receive these missing items in their mail.

Blizzard have responded to players' comments on the relative small amount of class tuning coming with this week's reset, explaining their reasoning and stating that there will be more coming next week.
      Tuning Response (Source)
This afternoon, we posted about class tuning that we’re doing tomorrow. These changes were informed by class performance over the first two weeks of the season.
When a new season begins, we collect a huge amount of data about class performance, item acquisition rates, PvP statistics, etc. During this time we will fix any critical, disruptive, or otherwise immediate problems that come up as quickly as we can. We also need to be careful about any changes we plan and ensure we have adequate data to make informed decisions, and then additionally need time for testing the changes we’re making to avoid further issues. Alongside the changes in the above link, we’re planning to send an additional batch of tuning changes that will be released during restarts on the week of December 5th, which will probably include some buffs and some nerfs.
We’ll continue to make adjustments regularly, based on data and feedback, but probably not as often later in the season compared to these early few weeks.
