As we draw closer to the regional qualifying tournaments for the BlizzCon 2014 Hearthstone World Championship, the remaining spots are getting increasingly difficult to get a hold of. This week-end will feature no less than 7 qualifying tournaments. Of these, the most anticipated is the HyperX Invitational tournament in which 8 top players will take part, including famous streamers Trump and Amaz, and Romanian prodigy Rdu, who recently won the Dreamhack Summer tournament in Sweden. All of the matches will be streamed and commented on Twitch.

Tournament Format and Information

  • The tournament will feature a double-elimination format. The final will oppose the winner of the losers bracket (who will need to win two matches to win the tournament) to the winner of the winners bracket (who will need to win only one match to win the tournament).
  • Matches are played to the best of 5 games.
  • Players get to ban one class per match, to be decided before the first game of the match.
  • 6 players are invited and 2 have qualified
  • The winner of the tournament will secure a spot in the qualifiers for the BlizzCon 2014 Hearthstone World Championship.
  • All matches will be streamed and commented on Twitch.

Year of the Mammoth Arena Guide now available!
Our Arena Guide has been updated by Pesty, to fully reflect the format for The Year of the Mammoth.
As well as the new tier list for classes, the guide addresses each class in detail, so that you can get the most out of your Arena draft. It also discusses which Mana curves work well with which class, and how to pick on your opponents' likely weaknesses.
The new Tier List is shown below:
Tier 1 (Excellent): Mage, Rogue Tier 2 (Great): Paladin, Hunter Tier 3 (Good): Druid, Priest, Shaman, Warlock, Tier 4 (Average): Warrior For any feedback or questions about this guide, check out our Hearthstone General Discussion Forum, or comment in this thread.

The 97th Tavern Brawl is called 'An Ancient Recipe' and it offers players the chance to try out Journey to Un'Goro decks.
The rules of this Brawl are simple: you choose a hero and you get a premade deck with the Un'Goro deck recipe for that class. The deck archetypes are the following and we even have guides for most of them:
Quest Druid Dinomancer Hunter Elemental Mage (guide for almost identical deck here) Quest Paladin Quest Priest Quest Rogue Elemental Shaman Quest Warlock Quest Warrior All deck recipes have pretty good winning chances. This is a nice chance to play with cards you don't own and get to know the new Hearthstone expansion better.
