The 5.7 Opening Sequence still uses potion > stealth, while the agi pots no longer take you out of stealth.

The opening sequence have to be updated hardly due to no combo points can longer be aquired pre-combat.

It's stated to open with garrote->shadow reflection->rupture. Please clarify, how many CP you want to use opening rupture, since you will be left with only 1 CP from garrote (probably 2 if hat procced) after opener. It's a total waste to do 1-2cp rupture and getting 5CP to cast it is a lot of wasted shadow reflection damage.

If anyone have a good way to start a rotation, please share

Should we be using Garrote each time we are able when it is not ticking, or only with the opener?

Great to see that the guide is being updated biggrin.png

There are still a few things that need updating though, I'll mention what I've found.

In the opening section, it mentions something about getting combo points before pull from Honor Among Thieves. That is no longer possible as they hotfixed it to only work in combat.

In the single target rotation section, it mentions hemo should be refreshed at 7.2 seconds, then later says that rupture should be refreshed at 8 seconds. They both have the same duration, so you should at the very least give the same time for both. The correct time is 7.2 btw. (And 10.8 for SnD, which currently just says "10").

In the multi target rotation section, there's a line saying: " (but only after first applying the Crimson Tempest debuff, so Rupture benefit from wow_icon_ability_rogue_sanguinaryvein.jp Sanguinary Vein)."

This is wrong. Rupture applies Sanguinary Veins itself before it gets to deal damage, meaning there is so difference between a rupture on an already bleeding target, or a target with no current bleeds. The Crimson Tempest bleed helps with Fan of Knives damage, but Crimson Tempest itself benefits from the Sanguinary Veins debuff, as the entirety of it's damage is determined from the instant part of the skill, so at 2-3 enemies I would personally first use rupture on everything before using Crimson Tempest, as the Fan of Knives damage is so low. I have not done any math on whether the debuff should be prioritized for Fan of Knives or Crimson Tempest, but one thing is for sure, it does not help Rupture in any way.

Why garrote in opener?

To trigger Find Weakness all the while saving your Energy for Ambush spamming when Shadow Dance is active.

The 5.7 Opening Sequence still uses potion > stealth, while the agi pots no longer take you out of stealth.

I swapped the two parts. I guess it's indeed easier that way.

How does it need to be updated? Where do you see a 1-CP Rupture? There's both Garrote and Ambush before you cast Rupture.

On the opener, do we want to use Ambush at all?

Yes, isn't it written?

Should we be using Garrote each time we are able when it is not ticking, or only with the opener?

The guide is very clear on that.

Thank you very much for the feedback!

The Honor Among Thieves part in the opener was just some text I had forgotten to remove, but the actual opener had been properly updated following the hotfix. So, I removed the extra text.

Thanks for catching this discrepancy regarding Rupture refreshing. I fixed it as well.

I also took into account your last suggestion. The strange thing is that this very rotation was suggested to me by one of my reviewers tongue.png

Opener

1) Garrote -> Trinket/SR -> Rupture -> Dance is superiour to your opener.

2) Even with Subterfuge, you want to use the above opener! Else your SR wont have your trinket procs when it starts doing damage!

Why not macro SR into your Garrote to receive an extra Garrote from the reflection? Or is it better to save a global's time to try and get another Ambush in once Shadow Dance is activated?

Garrote does a tiny amount of damage so surely it's better to have the SR copy something extra during dance than the garrote at the start?

Also, Simcraft uses neither yours nor the opener in the guide, its:

Garrote->SR/Dance/Racials/Trinkets->Ambush->Rupture->normal rotation

I would suggest removing the Draenic Agility Potion macro altogether. You can mention somewhere that Draenic Agility Potions do not break stealth. That would mean the beginning of the opener section (Premed,SnD,Potion) can all be completed entirely in stealth without the need to macro the potion and stealth together (the current macro actually seems to break stealth if you are already in it). This would also make it so if you miss the Prepot+Stealth for whatever reason, you can still perform your normal opener.

Might want to change the opening sequence. You have Premeditation + SnD before dropping into stealth. Can't Premed unless stealthed. I guess just change it to after prepot? maybe a premed + SnD macro for this purpose might be handy.

I fixed the potion stuff and I've asked Rosvall his opinion on the opener that was suggested here. Thank you guys for the comments!

Why does this guide mention double subterfuge using the Glyph of Vanish when it was fixed in patch 5.4.7 in May 2014.

It was never fixed.

Sorry blizzard did say it was fixed on March 18 2014 (Not May like I had previously stated), but like your guide mentions you can still get a second application of subterfuge before vanish ends.

  • Rogue
    • Talents
      • Resolved an issue where Vanish modified by Glyph of Vanish was incorrectly causing the Subterfuge effect to trigger twice. Vanish will now cancel its effect when the duration of Subterfuge expires.

I think you should test it and see for yourself.

I would like to add that if you have the T18 2 piece bonus the prem-ambush macro is kinda obsolete(unleash ofc you are in shadow Dance)

Theoretically, during your opener wouldn't it be useful to just throw up 1 hemo to proc sang befor your first rupture? I havent tested yet so this difference may be negligible at best.

Does anyone know of any good weakaura presets for sub rogue or just rogue in general?

The whole opening sequence is wrong and should be updated:

you premed 11 sec before pull, SnD 2 sec before pull, vanish+potion 1 sec before pull and at pull you shadow reflect and rupture. Then you shadowdance and ambush, dump your cp with evis.

Today's hotfixes are still very Plunderstorm-heavy, but we do get fixes for more achievement-related mount issues and PvP catch-up, in addition to the limited time event's adjustments.
      March 27 (Source)
      Achievements
Fixed bugs causing mounts related to A World Awoken to be unavailable, including Bestowed Ottuk Vanguard, Bestowed Trawling Mammoth, Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader, Bestowed Sandskimmer, Bestowed Ohuna Spotter, Coralscale Salamanther, Stormtouched Bruffalon, and Taivan. Player versus Player
Fixed an issue that prevented Splintered Sparks of Dreams from dropping from PvP sources while eligible for catch-up. Plunderstorm
The Storm’s fury swells! Lightning strikes during the final stage of the Storm are faster and more dangerous than before. There is now a delay of 20 seconds after being revived where players no longer drop collected Plunder. Additional enemies now spawn at Witherbark Village, the wild area northeast of Go’Shek Farm, and the wild area between Witherbark Village and Boulderfist Hall. Fixed an issue where swapping back to default sword and gun appearances were not saving correctly. Fixed an issue so that now, picking up an additional rank 2 spell while the same rank 2 spell is equipped properly grants the rank 4 version of the spell. The Captain’s Orders quest “X Marks the Spot” now requires 1 item to be picked up (was 2 items).
    • By Staff
Well that didn't take long! We found out someone had broken the 700,000 Plunder milestone yesterday evening, and we're already done with the full amount now! Soularpower_ managed to grind it out a couple of hours ago in duos, and grabbed the Plunderkind achievement, so huge congratulations! It's been a week and a day since the event was released, and despite there being plenty of Plunder drop buffs since then it's still great to see someone get it all done already.

Unsurprisingly, the first thing Soularpower_ after reaching that goal was... play more Plunderstorm! He's actually still at it if now you want to check the stream out.

Here's our first post-patch look at the Mythic+ log rankings. While the patch didn't really touch any of the DPS or tank specs, there's still some movement there, especially in the raw DPS chart. Healers got some solid changes in the patch, and the definitely had an effect.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top percentiles are extremely stable, which makes sense since the patch didn't really bring any significant changes for DPS specs. We have to go down to number 7 to see the first bit of movement, as Destruction moves two up, leaving its fellow Warlock down in 9th, as Arms gets between them, gaining 3 spots. Havoc closes out the top 10 three down, and right behind it we find the newly buffed Elemental moving three up. While Augmentation is being properly calculated, we still find an Evoker in the bottom 3, as Devastation drops one down and takes Marksmanship's place.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
It took Shadow a little longer to get into the top in the generalist bracket, as we find it in 3rd now, pushing Outlaw down one. Balance also moves up, 2 spots into 6th, as it and Arms take advantage of Havoc's fall. The Demon Hunter finds itself 3 down in 9th, while Fury remains stable at the very end of the top 10.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
While Outlaw remains at the top, pretty much everything's changing beneath it. Shadow and Retribution joined forces and moved two up together, breaking into the top 3. Fire is also on the rise, gaining 3 spots, and right behind it we find another big leaper, as Arms moves a whopping 5 spots up.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

      All Percentiles Tank (Points)
There's actually some solid movement here, as we see Paladin take 2nd away from DK and Druid take Monk down, with Warrior remaining in last place and DH being far ahead of the pack.
Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Healer (Points)
Healers had some significant changes with the patch, but it hasn't stopped Monk from remaining at the top. Druid moves into 2nd, taking Discipline Priest down a peg, and it seems the Holy Priest patch reworks helped it out, as it gains a spot in 4th.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs and u.gg. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides, as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.
