Dragonflight Season 3 Mythic+ DPS, Tank and Healer Log Rankings: Week 1

Recommended Posts

Clipboard02.jpg

Week 1 of Season 3 is finally behind us and we get to see the results! The shifts are pretty massive, with multiple specs moving as much as 18 spots, we have new No.1s, new bottom three contenders and just a WHOLE lot of change. Let's dive in!

Warcraft Logs Points

The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

All Keys

95th percentile DPS

While there is blue at the top, it's not the same blue as before the patch! Arcane has come out on top in this first week of Season 3, coming up from around 5th in 10.1.7. Augmentation did not suffer the same indignity it has in raids, basically proving that the raid issue is more of a DPS log assignment one than an actual problem. It's still very much essential in 5-mans and is sitting pretty at No.2, a little better than before even. There's been a change in guard for Rogues as well, as Outlaw comes to the fore and grabs 3rd, with Subtletly nowhere to be seen (well, at the bottom to be seen).

Havoc is the (almost) absolute biggest mover with the patch, climbing a massive 18 spots to claim 4th! Fire didn't go very far from its No.2 spot as we find it 3 down in 5th. Meanwhile, Demonology is giving Havoc a run for its "most improved" title, with a casual 14-spot bump! However, the actual title will have to go to Assassination, despite it only moving up to 8th spot, but it did so from dead last, and also gained 18 spots, same as Havoc. The most surprising thing we run into, however, is a spec that has not moved at all! Enhancement is in the exact same No.9 spot as last patch, while Arms closes out the top 10 exactly 1 spot better off than in 10.1.7.  The new bottom 3 features 2 familiar faces in Affliction and Marksmanship, but Destruction has fallen and then some, 17 spots in fact.

All Percentiles

The top 3 is the same here as at the top, and after that we see Fire and Demonology keeping Havoc out. Balance is very stable between patches, both here and on top, as the rest plays out pretty much the same as the 95th percentile.

U.GG DPS Rankings

U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.

Havoc is doing even better in the DPS rankings, as it's sitting pretty at the very top! Beast Mastery is also doing much better than in the points department, while Outlaw doesn't particularly care how you measure its stats, whether its points, DPS, top percentile, average, it's in 3rd EVERYWHERE. The rest is mostly the same specs just slightly rearranged, but we do see Retribution enter the top 10! One major difference sees Augmentation at the bottom, but that's almost certainly due to logging issues with their assigned DPS.

Tank

Vengeance comes out on top in the patch shuffle, with Blood moving into 2nd as Guardian drops almost to the bottom, which has long been reserved for Warriors.

Healer

Very small changes to the healers, even when looking to the start of 10.1.7, as Disc moves 1 up and dethrones Paladin, Mistweaver is also finally digging out of the bottom, with Preservation in tow, leaving Holy Priest and Resto Shaman at the bottom.

Blizzard has added a completely new category to the Great Vault in the War Within. Find out more about the updated requirements!
While we can't bring up the UI on the Alpha, based on datamining, we were able to figure out that the PvP row has been completely removed and replaced with a World row, as indicated by the new global strings for Build 54675.

To unlock items in the new row, you must complete 3/6/12 delves or world activities. Completing world activities will be equivalent to completing a certain Tier of delves.
To increase the reward's item level, you must complete Delves at a higher tier. We have 9 tiers in total with the last two being only for bragging rights (awarding cosmetics).

Struggling in delves? The new Determination buff has got your back in the War Within.
If you’ve ever done LFR, you’re probably familiar with the Determination buff. When your raid wipes, your damage, healing, and health get a boost. Now, this same mechanic is coming to delves, which is surprising given that delves can be tackled solo or in a group.
Delver's Determination is a buff you receive when you die too much in delves. It increases your damage, healing, and health by 5%, stacking. Every delve ends with a boss fight. If you’re finding the final boss too challenging, don’t worry. You’ll gain a stack of Delver's Determination every time the boss defeats you, giving you a better chance to succeed on your next try.
