Dragonflight Season 3 Mythic+ DPS Log Rankings: Week 2

Recommended Posts

Season 3 week 2 is behind us and we have some very solid data to work with! Augmentation is the king of the hill as Arcane drops a fair bit, and Fury is on the rise as well. Also don't forget, we just had some class tuning this week which may impact the below rankings this week.

Warcraft Logs Points

The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

All Keys

95th percentile DPS

It seems Arcane's rise was fairly short-lived, as last week's No.1 finds itself down in 6th, with Augmentation taking over the 5-man scene. The Evoker leads Outlaw and Fire in the top 3, with Havoc and Demonology looking in just behind, also having moved past Arcane. Balance is the most stable spec in these first few weeks, both here and in raids, as it holds on to No.7. Fury is very much on the rise, up 5 spots and pushing Assassination down to 9th, with Beast Mastery closing out the top 10. The other two Warlock specs find themselves at the very bottom, joined by Marksmanship.

All Percentiles

Arcane only drops 4 spots in the generalist bracket, as Aug still sees its way to the top. Havoc is also doing slightly better, as it rises 3 spots to the tail end of the top 3, while the Mages stick together beneath it. Balance is still stoic in 7th, as Fury moves to 9th and Assassination closes out the top 10. Things are very similar to the top percentiles here, more so than usual, as we see the bottom 3 is the same as well.

U.GG DPS Rankings

U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.

The top 2 remains the same in the pure DPS rankings, but Outlaw gets replaced by Demonology in third. Arcane actually moves up a spot here, as Arms drops two, with Enhancement pushing up as well. At the bottom we're seeing the same issues with Augmentation we've seen in raids, as their raw DPS is not being measured correctly on Warcraft Logs, with other specs getting the benefit of what is supposed to be the Evoker's damage. You can watch this video for the details.

A Hunter player had their account suspended because of their pet's default name.
For some reason, the account was reported and suspended because the pet was named "Carrion Bird". What's both hilarious and unfortunate is that the player didn't even choose the name; it's the default name given in the game when you tame the pet.
Hopefully, the ban will get overturned, since it's probably automated and unintended.

Community Manager Kaivax from Blizzard has confirmed that upcoming content (most likely Patch 10.2.6) will be revealed in the coming weeks, along with the reopening of the Public Test Realms.
In a post on the Community Council forum, Kaivax shared insights into how new council members are chosen. However, the highlight is that we're about to get more details on upcoming content, which is most likely Patch 10.2.6.
Blizzard confirmed a while ago the patch would go live some time in March, so this isn't too surprising. On top of that, we also learned that Public Test Realms will re-open for Season 4 testing.
We're excited to see what Patch 10.2.6 has to offer, and even more for War Within Alpha!

      Yes! Very much so.
This week, we happen to be in what looks like a lull, because so much focus is on behind-the-scenes work. We’re spinning up the next round of new invites to the Council, which means we’ve been cataloguing and vetting and sorting through the thousands of applications. That also means that players who joined the Council in the first couple of months of 2023 will depart, and that’s a different set of behind-the-scenes work.
For the devs, there’s currently a lot of focus on upcoming content that is not yet being publicly examined. That will shift in the coming weeks, as we reveal some things and re-open our public test realms and then commit to the exchange of details and feedback that come with it.
