Armor Transcendence Guide for Monster Hunter Wilds
In Monster Hunter Wilds, upgrading your armor is essential for surviving the toughest monsters. Learn how to unlock and use Armor Transcendence to upgrade your armor beyond its usual limits.
Armor Transcendence Guide in Monster Hunter Wilds
Title Update 4 brings a ton of new endgame content, including the highly anticipated Armor Transcendence system. Here is everything you need to know to push your armor past its limits and tackle the toughest monsters, including Gogmazios.
What is Armor Transcendence in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Armor Transcendence is a new endgame upgrade system for hunters who have reached HR 100+. It allows you to:
- Increase your armor's maximum level, which will increase the base stats as well.
- Upgrade Decoration slots on Rarity 5 and 6 armor, making old armor viable for late-game builds.
- Occasionally add extra Decoration slots, giving you more flexibility with skills.
Think of it as a way to breathe new life into armor you already love, but that was too weak, and make it competitive against the hardest monsters in the game.
It is important to note that as of right now, Capcom has not confirmed if Rarity 7+ armor can be Transcended yet.
How to Unlock Armor Transcendence in Monster Hunter Wilds?
In order to unlock Armor Transcendence you need to reach Hunter Rank 100+ (HR100+). You can the visit the Smithy to access the Transcendence option. Once at the Smithy, select the armor piece you want to enhance and start upgrading.
Once unlocked, you will be able to push your gear beyond its usual limits and prepare for the new challenges.
The Benefit of Transcending Your Armor
Armor Transcendence provides two main benefits:
- Increased Armor Level - The maximum level of your armor rises, allowing further upgrades with Armor Spheres for higher defense.
- Enhanced Decoration Slots - Rarity 5 and 6 armor pieces get better slots, turning mid-game armor into viable endgame options.
Here is an example of how Armor Transcendence can turn out with a Kut Ku Helm β:
Before transcending the Helm is level 20 with 2 decoration slots, and after transcending it can go up to level 28 with 3 decoration slots!
Materials Needed for Armor Transcendence
Transcending requires specific materials similar to crafting armor:
- Monster-specific certificates
- Rare gems
- Other unique endgame items
The exact materials depend on the armor piece's source monster. Be ready to farm some high-rank monsters for this.
Transcending your armor is definitely the best way to get stronger defense for the upcoming endgame fights, and allows you to better customise your skills thanks to upgraded slots. On top of that, it allows older armor sets to finally compete with new ones.
