Best Gems for Holy Priest in Phase 3 of Wrath of the Lich King

Below is a list of the recommended gems for a Holy Priest in Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Be sure to meet your Meta Gem Socket Icon Meta Gem requirements by using all of the required colors. It is typically recommended to only use the minimum gems required to activate your Meta Gem and then use Yellow Gem Socket Icon Yellow Gems in the rest of your open sockets unless the socket bonus is great.

Your gemming will largely depend on whether or not you have mana issues. If you often find yourself completely out of mana before fights are ending you may need to opt into more Intellect. If not you will want to increase your Haste as much as possible to boost your healing output to the maximum.

Phase 3 introduces epic gems which can be obtained from multiple sources, making them readily available early on. Try to to use epic gems over rare gems as much as possible, especially in best in slot gear as they offer a great stat increase.

Sockets Gems
Meta Socket Insightful Earthsiege Diamond Icon Insightful Earthsiege Diamond — make sure you meet the requirements for it to be active
Yellow Socket
Red Socket

Jewelcrafting Gem

Holy Priest is an extremely Mana-hungry specialization. Early on you will want to use the Intellect-based gems shown above until you are comfortable with your Mana on fights and able to sustain your healing output. When your Mana needs are handled, you will want to swap over to Haste Rating gems to increase your healing output.

3.3.

Potions
