Welcome to our Macros guide for Priests, where you will find out what the best macros are for your Priest in WotLK Classic.

The focus of this section is to show you some examples of some basic macros and explain how they work. A Macro is a line of commands that you can input into a text box that will execute the written commands in the order you have given them with a single button press.

Macros for Priest in Wrath of the Lich King Classic

1.1.

All Healthstones in one Button Macro

  • #showtooltip
  • /use item:36894
  • /use item:36893
  • /use item:36892

This allows you to use any rank of Fel Healthstone Icon Fel Healthstone no matter which one you grab. In WotLK you can only carry one Healthstone at a time, but the strength of the Healthstone depends on how many talent points the Warlock has spent in the Improved Healthstone IconImproved Healthstone talent. This simplifies it by putting all 3 on one button and tries to use the best version first if available.

1.2.

Mouseover Macro

  • #showtooltip
  • /cast [@mouseover,help][] Spell Name

This macro is very useful for quickly casting helpful spells by simply mousing over a friendly target's body or unit frame. This makes casting spells like Dispel Magic IconDispel Magic and Abolish Disease IconAbolish Disease much simpler. Make sure to replace "Spell Name" with the spell you want to use in this macro.

1.3.

Mass Dispel Macro

  • #showtooltip
  • /cast [@cursor] Mass Dispel

This instantly casts your Mass Dispel IconMass Dispel wherever your mouse cursor is hovering over instead of requiring you to select the area manually with your mouse. This is great whenever you need to quickly dispel friendly or enemy targets; just be sure you have your mouse hovering over the area you wish your Mass Dispel IconMass Dispel to hit.

1.4.

Cancel Dispersion Macro

  • #showtooltip
  • /cancelaura Dispersion
  • /cast Dispersion

This macro is only relevant to Shadow Priests. This macro easily allows you to cancel your Dispersion IconDispersion buff so you can get back to dealing damage if you no longer need the damage reduction buff. You will want to use this in some situations when you only need the 90% damage reduction for a second or two instead of the whole six-second duration. Be careful when using this macro as spam clicking this button will instantly cast and cancel your Dispersion IconDispersion, essentially wasting the ability. Clicking this macro the first time will activate Dispersion IconDispersion, and clicking it the second time will remove the Dispersion buff.

2.

Priest Addons

Macros are very important in making your character play as smoothly as possible, but so do addons, for which reason we recommend that you also read our Priest Addons page.
