In most cases I should just go face?

I know it is called face but lets say they have a 4/2 I have a 2/1 should I go face or trade?

You should take very favourable trades, especially in the early game and when your opponent would have a much better trade, e.g. a 2/1 that would kill Leeroy Jenkins should be killed unless you would have to overcommit.
There are a few exceptions, such as having lethal next turn (don't forget to take in count your opponent's trades) or being behind on the board in the late game.

As a general rule you should trade at the beginning against other aggressive decks, even out of scenarios such as the one mentioned(2/1 vs 4/2), unless you have better ways to clear minions, such as bow or quick shot.

Basically you should play with the mentality that you should be maximizing the amount of damage you do over the course of the game, as opposed to playing for either value or tempo. This could mean trading heavily in some match ups(aggro shaman, tempo mage,...), in order to establish board dominance and get squeeze more damage out of your minions,as well as survive an extra turn yourself and hence squeeze in an extra hero power and throw more burn at the face or simply go all in when your opponent's deck isn't built to fight for the board in the early game(control warrior, malygos druid and others). Most of the time in these match ups it's better to not even bother playing around your opponent's aoe options unless you feel you can afford to do so, which will rarely happen.

Not really. it's surprisingly tricky to pull wins with this deck. The lack of The Guy Who Lets The Dogs Out,  Savannah Finemane and Call of the Balanced plays against you as much as it plays for you.

That has always been the case when comparing the deck with a more midrangey build. You sacrifice late game staying power for sheer aggressive damage. Hence why midrange hunter is a good deck against things like control priest or warrior and face hunter is the better deck against decks like midrange hunter and zoo. But to me the fact the deck is even viable again is good enough, as I seem to be one of the few people who enjoy playing it.

Not saying this is a phenomenal tier 1 deck, but the fact that this deck reached top 10 Legend on 2 different servers couldn't have been a total fluke.

Nah, I enjoy the challenge as well. It's more that I expected something rather straightforward and ended up with a probability-heavy brain teaser. Zoolock this ain't.

Not a fluke, no, but an answer specifically crafted by great players to answer their particular meta at a particular moment. Outside of said conditions, it is much less efficient.
