1. Healing Beam

Lt. Morales Healing Beam
Healing Beam (Q) Starcraft Lt. Morales
  • Cooldown: 0 seconds

Heal an ally for 421 (200 + 4% per level) health a second as long as they are in range. Reactivate to switch targets, or activate your Trait to cancel the channel.

Healing Beam Icon Healing Beam heals an allied target consistently as long as they are in range. While the beam is active, Lt. Morales loses a small amount of Mana each second. Reactivate the ability to switch to a different target. Using Caduceus Reactor Icon Caduceus Reactor cancels Healing Beam.

Healing Beam Icon Healing Beam is Lt. Morales' only healing ability and affects one allied unit at a time. There are two major factors which greatly influence the efficiency of Healing Beam. Firstly, it is of utmost importance to know which ally to heal and when to heal them. Thus, keeping an eye on both your frontline and backline is imperative when playing Lt. Morales. The fact that Healing Beam has no cooldown allows you to quickly rotate between multiple targets and will help you in that regard.

Secondly, Healing Beam is consuming a significant amount of Mana if channeled for an extensive amount of time, which is why tracking Lt. Morales' Mana bar is crucial. However, keep in mind that using it on an ally with full health does not cost any Mana. This is particularly important to remember, as talents like Bioshield Icon Bioshield or Couples Therapy Icon Couples Therapy greatly rely on Lt. Morales keeping her Healing Beam active on full health targets.

2. Safeguard

Lt. Morales Safeguard
Safeguard (W) Starcraft Lt. Morales
  • Mana: 60
  • Cooldown: 15 seconds

Grant target ally Resistant, reducing damage taken by 25% for 3 seconds.

Safeguard Icon Safeguard protects a target ally, causing them to take 25% less damage from all sources.

Safeguard Icon Safeguard is an ability whose importance is often overlooked. However, its relatively low cooldown and strong single-target protection can make the difference between successfully saving an ally or seeing them die before you. To use Safeguard with maximum efficiency, timing is of the essence.

As a rule of thumb it is better to use Safeguard the moment an allied Warrior or melee Assassin initiates a team fight. Doing so usually allows you to use another instance of Safeguard within the same team fight and also allows your chosen target to engage more confidently. Safeguard is also a very important ability to use on Lt. Morales herself, as she lacks any form of innate escape or self-healing mechanisms.

3. Displacement Grenade

Lt. Morales Displacement Grenade
Displacement Grenade (E) Starcraft Lt. Morales
  • Mana: 50
  • Cooldown: 12 seconds

Fire a grenade that can be manually detonated, dealing 461 (219 + 4% per level) damage and knocking enemies away.

Displacement Grenade Icon Displacement Grenade causes Lt. Morales to fire a grenade that passes through Minions, Structures, and other obstacles. Re-activating this ability causes the Grenade to explode on command, damaging and displacing enemies in its blast radius. The Grenade automatically explodes if it travels its maximum distance.

Displacement Grenade Icon Displacement Grenade is Lt. Morales' only source of crowd control. Consequently, we generally recommend using Displacement Grenade as a defensive ability, meaning you should try to knock engaging enemies away from you or a threatened ally.

If used offensively, Displacement Grenade can actually help a retreating enemy to escape if it hits them directly. To avoid this from happening, try to aim Displacement Grenade in a way that the center of its explosion does not directly hit your target.

4. Stim Drone

Lt. Morales Stim Drone
Stim Drone (R) Starcraft Lt. Morales
  • Mana: 100
  • Cooldown: 90 seconds

Grant an allied Hero 75% Attack Speed and 25% Movement Speed for 10 seconds.

After a short delay, Stim Drone Icon Stim Drone grants an allied Hero 75% bonus attack speed and 25% bonus movement speed for 10 seconds.

Stim Drone Icon Stim Drone is a powerful buff, which greatly increases the mobility and damage output of a single allied Hero. One important thing to remember when using Stim Drone is the fact that it has a short channeling animation. If Lt. Morales gets interrupted while channeling, Stim Drone is put on a 10-second cooldown, so make sure to keep a safe distance from enemy crowd control abilities. The following list contains the Heroes that harmonise particularly well with Lt. Morales' Stim Drone.

It is worth mentioning that Assassins and Specialists who deal most of their damage through Basic Attacks are always priority targets for Stim Drone. Also keep in mind that Lt. Morales cannot use Stim Drone on herself unless she chooses Transfusion Icon Transfusion at Level 20, which we do not recommend.

5. Caduceus Reactor

Lt. Morales Caduceus Reactor
Caduceus Reactor (D) Starcraft Lt. Morales
  • Trait

Regenerate 3.12% of your maximum Health every second after not taking damage for 4 seconds.

Caduceus Reactor Icon Caduceus Reactor causes Lt. Morales to regenerate 3.12% of her maximum health every second after not taking any damage for 4 seconds.

Caduceus Reactor Icon Caduceus Reactor is very similar to Muradin's Second Wind Icon Second Wind trait, since it also regenerates health per second after not taking damage for 4 seconds. Caduceus Reactor's effect makes Lt. Morales a very durable laner if she knows how to dodge enemy abilities and Basic Attacks.

After reaching Level 20, the Caduceus Reactor 2.0 Icon Caduceus Reactor 2.0 talent adds Mana regeneration and a stackable shield, which balances two of Lt. Morales' greatest weaknesses: survivability and Mana dependency.
