1. Artifact Progression

Artifact Progression

1.1. Early Point Investment

Artifact Progression - Early Point Investment

After acquiring the starting point, Icon Might of the Guardians, take the left road into Icon Blasting Rod for some immediate punch on your Arcane Blast Icon Arcane Blast. This is a good trait for burst, especially. Grab Icon Aegwynn's Imperative to extend your Arcane Power Icon Arcane Power to a maximum of 13 seconds before heading left into Icon Mana Shield. This is an excellent defensive trait and enforces the notion that you should take full advantage of Prismatic Barrier Icon Prismatic Barrier whenever possible. Invest into your first Golden Trait, the Icon Rule of Threes, which gives your Arcane Missiles Icon Arcane Missiles even more damage.

1.2. Second Golden Trait

Artifact Progression - Second Golden Trait

Continue upwards along the tree into Icon Ethereal Sensitivity, the best basic trait on the tree on longer encounters. Icon Aegwynn's Wrath is also amazing, and is your next allocation of points. Go downwards and snag your second Golden Trait, Icon Arcane Rebound, which is exceptional for Mythic+ dungeons and any situation with cleave.

1.3. Third Golden Trait

Artifact Progression - Third Golden Trait

1.3.1. Mythic Raid Progression/Single Target Focused

From Icon Aegwynn's Imperative, head right and grab Icon Aegwynn's Fury for the Arcane Missiles Icon Arcane Missiles damage. Continue right into Icon Everywhere At Once, which is neat for high mobility fights, but otherwise ineffectual. Grab your final Golden Trait, Icon Touch of the Magi, which is good in all situations. Go upwards into Icon Torrential Barrage before backtracking to the start of the tree and filling out Icon Arcane Purification.

1.3.2. Mythic+ Dungeons/AoE Focused

From the start of the tree take the right path and grab Icon Arcane Purification, which is an exceptional basic trait for AoE. Go up to the top of the tree and talent into Icon Torrential Barrage, which is another great AoE trait when paired with the Resonance Icon Resonance talent. Go down through Icon Everywhere At Once and snag Icon Touch of the Magi. Finally, grab Icon Aegwynn's Fury near the centre of the tree.

1.4. Final Point Investment

The remaining points are mostly utility based, and are therefore largely a matter of preference. Icon Crackling Energy is a good investment, particularly for dungeon focused players, as the extra range can actually be a DPS gain in some instances, and it helps your spread AoE. Icon Aegwynn's Ascendance adds a little bit of damage to Evocation Icon Evocation, but this is largely negligible and requires you to be nearby targets. Icon Sloooow Down can be taken any time you feel you can get use out of the potential kiting utility.

2. Relic Choice

  1. Icon Ethereal Sensitivity is overall the best trait for single target
  2. Icon Aegwynn's Wrath is a great trait, essentially giving you a free 350 Critical Strike rating
  3. Icon Blasting Rod is good, particularly for burst
  4. Icon Aegwynn's Fury for the Arcane Missiles Icon Arcane Missiles damage
  5. Icon Arcane Purification for the AoE benefit
  6. Any of the other damage relics
