General Information

On this page, we explain what the best statistics are for Fire Mages in World of Warcraft WoD 6.0.3, how the class benefits from each of them.

The statistics priority is important as it influences itemisation choices (gear, enchants, and gems).

The other pages of our Fire Mage guide can be accessed from the table of contents on the right.

1. Basics↑top

The stat priority for a Fire Mage is:

  1. Intellect;
  2. Critical Strike;
  3. Mastery;
  4. Multistrike = Haste;
  5. Versatility.

Mastery, Multistrike, and Haste are relatively close in value. When choosing an upgrade, simply choose whichever has a highest Critical Strike and either Mastery, Multistrike, or Haste.

These statistics have been obtained by combining common sense, in-game testing, and simulations using Simulation Craft.

If you are unsure how to conform your gear to the above priority, you can Ask Mr. Robot for a personalised optimisation of your character's gear, by filling the form below.

2.1. Statistics Explanations

Intellect is your primary stat. You should look for this stat in all of your upgrades. It provides you with Spell Power, which increases the damage of your spells.

Critical Strike increases your chance to critically hit, which in turn increases your chances to get instant-free Pyroblast Icon Pyroblasts.

Mastery, through Mastery: Ignite Icon Mastery: Ignite, increases the damage of your Ignite Icon Ignite DoT.

Multistrike causes your abilities to have an increased chance to hit/heal a second and a third time, each time dealing 30% of the initial damage/heal.

Haste influences the cast speed of your spells. It also influences the frequency of the ticks for Living Bomb Icon Living Bomb, Pyroblast Icon Pyroblast, and Combustion Icon Combustion.

Versatility is a flat-out damage done increase and damage taken reduction.
