Windwalker Monk PvP Stat Priority, Gear, and Trinkets — Midnight Season 1
Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Windwalker Monk in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats, followed by advice on how to choose your gear and your trinkets.
This page is part of our Windwalker Monk PvP Guide.
Stat Priority for Windwalker Monks in PvP
The stat priority for Windwalker Monk in PvP is as follows:
- Agility
- Versatility
- Mastery
- Haste
- Critical Strike
Agility is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the strongest
secondary stat at all times due to increasing your damage and reducing the
amount of damage you take. You should also try to focus on getting Mastery.
This increases the damage you deal when you do not repeat the previous
ability (
Mastery: Combo Strikes).
Gear Recommendations
In general, Windwalker Monks want to get trinkets that line up well with
Zenith/
Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger if you are playing Conduit of the Celestials hero talent tree. These trinkets can have a passive or
on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility. The
reason you want to increase Versatility is because it increases your
overall damage. It is also handy for increasing your healing when you need
to use
Vivify to stay alive. Here is the best gear we recommend
you use as a Windwalker Monk.

Note: It is essential to be wearing two PvP trinkets. This will give you a Stamina and stat boost that will increase your survivability.
Windwalker Monk Tier Sets
As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed to 33% effectiveness in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. Below is the Windwalker Monk tier set.
- 2-set:
Strike of the Windlord and
Whirling Dragon Punch's damage increased by 30%. - 4-set: The cooldown of
Strike of the Windlord and
Whirling Dragon Punch are reduced by 5 seconds.
Windwalker Monk Embellishments
Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have two Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Windwalker Monk:
Prismatic Focusing Iris. This Embellishment causes your damaging
spells and abilities to have a chance to deal damage to your target.
This is a flat increase to your overall damage output. Craft this on both rings or your neck.
Gems and Enchants
Here are the best enchants for a Windwalker Monk:
- Helmet:
Enchant Helm - Blessing of Speed - Shoulder:
Enchant Shoulders - Akil'zon's Swiftness - Chest:
Enchant Chest - Mark of the Rootwarden - Legs:
Forest Hunter's Armor Kit - Boots:
Enchant Boots - Farstrider's Hunt - Rings:
Enchant Ring - Silvermoon's Tenacity - Weapon:
Enchant Weapon - Worldsoul Tenacity
For gems, you should primarily be using
Enduring Heliotrope for the meta slot, and filling all other gem slots with
Flawless Quick Lapis.
