Warrior Job Guide for FFXIV — Endwalker 6.55
Warrior is a tank job in Final Fantasy XIV and use a combination of healing and mitigation to weather the attacks of their enemies, while responding with crushing strength using their large axes. They can only be played at Level 30, after receiving their job stone as a Marauder.
What is Warrior's Playstyle?
Warriors are one of four tanks found in FFXIV, wielding a massive greataxe, as well as an extremely potent series of healing spells that allow them to comfortably regain lost health.
Warrior's core gameplay consists of building up your Beast Gauge with actions, to then unleash powerful, resource-spending moves that deal large amounts of damage to your enemies. With the use of actions such as Inner Release, you can chain together windows of large amounts of damage output, as well as keep yourself healthy and topped-off with a number of defensive and healing actions, such as Bloodwhetting.

How do you unlock Warrior?
Warriors require you to have already leveled the Marauder base class to level 30 before receiving your job stone to transform you into a Warrior from the "Pride and Duty (Will Take You from the Mountain)" quest, given to you by Wyrnzoen in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (x11, y6).
Warrior Gauges
The Beast Gauge for Warriors has two functions: showing how much gauge you have, as well as whether or not you have Defiance activated.
You generate gauge by completing combos with your basic actions, such as Heavy Swing, Maim, and Storm's Path or Storm's Eye, or your AoE equivalents Overpower and Mythril Tempest. There are also abilities that instantly generate an amount of gauge, such as Infuriate.
To spend your Beast Gauge, there are a number of actions that can be used, and the actions available to you will change as you level, but the first ones you will acquire are Inner Beast and Steel Cyclone. These will later upgrade to Fell Cleave and Decimate, and beyond that upgrade again while under the effect of Nascent Chaos, to Inner Chaos and Chaotic Cyclone.

Warrior Lore
On the northernmost edge of Abalathia's Spine exists a mountain tribe renowned for producing fearsome mercenaries. Wielding greataxes and known as warriors, these men and women learn to harness their inner-beasts and translate that power to unbridled savagery on the battlefield.
In former times which saw war waged ceaselessly in Eorzea, the warriors featured prominently on the front lines of battle. With the arrival of peacetime, however, their art has descended into the shadows of obscurity, where it remains to this day.
