Warrior Tank Gear and Best in Slot — Dawntrail 7.55
On this page, you will find the best gear and best-in-slot items for your Warrior Tank in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail (Patch 7.55).
Warrior Gearsets (BiS)
Warriors have a number of best-in-slot possibilities, depending on the GCD speed you wish to play with. It is worth noting that, despite each set being shown with a simulated DPS number, these simulations are theoretical and have been performed in a controlled, infinite environment that does not take into account any of the variables that you may deal with in real fights. This includes, for example, the fight you are currently doing, your current party composition, and more.
The food that you choose to use will depend on the speed of the best-in-slot set you run, so make sure to check the listed consumable for each list.
If you are currently gearing up your Warrior, you can find more information about the stat priorities and effects in our guide's melding section.
Best in Slot by Encounter
Crafted Gear (Savage Progression)
Below are multiple gearsets depending on how many Tomestones you farm before and/or during the release week of Savage. If you prefer to save gil and not pentameld, simply follow the
melding guide. For all sets,
Caramel Popcorn is the best-in-slot food option, though
Mate Cookie can be used as a cheap alternative
until market prices go down. All prog sets listed are for a 2.50s GCD. Warrior's tome buy order is Chest → Neck → Ring → Boots → Wrist.
Savage Best-In-Slot
Clicking on the embedded links or "show more" tab will take you to the master sheet, containing additional gearsets for different Skill Speed sets. Take note of the meld changes compared to the Savage weapon BiS if you have cleared Dancing Mad (Ultimate) or obtained the final stage Phantom Occultum relics.
Dancing Mad — Phantom Relic
With the arrival of Patch 7.55, the new Phantom Occultum relic weapons have customizable stats that make them BiS for both Dawntrail Ultimates. The Palazzo and Savage weapons are still suitable choices if you do not want to grind for a relic weapon.
Dancing Mad — Ultimate Weapon
Using the Palazzo weapon simply requires two additional Direct Hit melds into the weapon, with no other changes made to the Savage Best-in-Slot.
Dancing Mad — Savage Weapon
Primarily used for progression, the Savage weapon Best-in-Slot is identical to the AAC Heavyweight gearset.
Futures Rewritten — Phantom Relic
With the arrival of Patch 7.55, the new Phantom Occultum relic weapons have customizable stats that make them BiS for both Dawntrail Ultimates. The Edenmorn and Savage weapons are still suitable choices if you do not want to grind for a relic weapon.
Futures Rewritten — Ultimate Weapon
This option is for those who have already cleared the fight and have the FRU weapon, but do not have the new Relic from Patch 7.55.
Futures Rewritten — Savage Weapon
FRU uses a combination of Arcadion Light-Heavyweight, Augmented Quetzalli, and Mistic Memory gear. This option is for those progressing the fight who do not yet have the FRU weapon or the Dawntrail Relic weapon.
The Omega Protocol — Phantom Relic
With the arrival of Patch 7.55, the new Phantom Occultum relic weapons have customizable stats that make them slightly better than the previously used Manderville relics.
Portions of these gear sets can only be acquired by completing the Abyssos raid tier. A guide for the content can be found in the link below.
The Omega Protocol — Manderville Relic
With the arrival of Patch 6.45, the new Majestic Manderville relic weapons have customizable stats that make them BiS for both Endwalker Ultimates. Additionally, with the introduction of The Lunar Subterrane, certain pieces of iLevel 635 gear is available for a mild DPS increased compared to previous sets. Patch 6.55 has introduced the Mandervillous weapons, which have increased stat caps over the prior relic step. The stats you select do not change from the ones you've used since Patch 6.45.
Portions of these gear sets can only be acquired by completing the Abyssos raid tier. A guide for the content can be found in the link below.
Dragonsong's Reprise — Phantom Relic
With the arrival of Patch 7.55, the new Phantom Occultum relic weapons have customizable stats that make them slightly better than the previously used Manderville relics.
Dragonsong's Reprise — Manderville Relic
With the arrival of Patch 6.3 and the new dungeon, Lapis Manalis, dropping iLevel 605 gear, we are now able to cap item level on certain pieces to make a stronger build. You can use either i645 or i655 relic weapons from Endwalker. The stats you select do not change from the ones you've used since Patch 6.45, so it's only a minor DPS increase to obtain the Mandervillous weapon over the Majestic. Patch 7.0 introduced higher item level gear that offers maxed substats even when synced down and is readily obtainable.
Portions of these gear sets can only be acquired by completing the Asphodelos raid tier. A guide for the content can be found links below.
Unending Coil of Bahamut (UCOB) Best-in-Slot
We’ve decided to not include full gear sets for The Unending Coil of Bahamut anymore, as your gear choices make very little difference in how much damage you do due to how gear syncs and removes melds. The item level listed below will outline what item level is required to max out both substats on gear for the fight. All gear above the specified item level will work:
- Item level 470
With that being said, the biggest difference that can be made to your gear set will be equipping a Shadowbringers Relic weapon. Due to the nature of how substats are allocated on these weapons, it enables you to utilize more substats than what’s intended on a normal weapon. Stat allocation is as follows:
- 127 Critical Hit / 125 Determination / 126 Skill Speed / 90 Tenacity
For those with the Manderville Relic weapons, the stat distribution cannot be finely tuned but the priority remains the same given Warrior performs better with Skill Speed in all three legacy Ultimates compared to base 2.50 speed. Keep in mind, the Relic weapon is NOT mandatory to clear these fights. It only provides a buffer for mistakes. It’s up to the player to make the decision if the grind is worth it.
The Weapon's Refrain (UWU) Best-in-Slot
We’ve decided to not include full gear sets for The Weapon's Refrain anymore, as your gear choices make very little difference in how much damage you do due to how gear syncs and removes melds. The item level listed below will outline what item level is required to max out both substats on gear for the fight. All gear above the specified item level will work:
- Item level 500
With that being said, the biggest difference that can be made to your gear set will be equipping a Shadowbringers Relic weapon. Due to the nature of how substats are allocated on these weapons, it enables you to utilize more substats than what’s intended on a normal weapon. Stat allocation is as follows:
- 136 Critical Hit / 133 Determination / 135 Skill Speed / 63 Tenacity
For those with the Manderville Relic weapons, the stat distribution cannot be finely tuned but the priority remains the same given Warrior performs better with Skill Speed in all three legacy Ultimates compared to base 2.50 speed. Keep in mind, the Relic weapon is NOT mandatory to clear these fights. It only provides a buffer for mistakes. It’s up to the player to make the decision if the grind is worth it.
The Epic of Alexander (TEA) Best-in-Slot
We’ve decided to not include full gear sets for The Epic of Alexander anymore, as your gear choices make very little difference in how much damage you do due to how gear syncs and removes melds. The item level listed below will outline what item level is required to max out both substats on gear for the fight. All gear above the specified item level will work:
- Item level 595
With that being said, the biggest difference that can be made to your gear set will be equipping a Shadowbringers Relic weapon. Due to the nature of how substats are allocated on these weapons, it enables you to utilize more substats than what’s intended on a normal weapon. Stat allocation is as follows:
- 178 Critical Hit / 143 Determination / 143 Skill Speed / 4 Tenacity
For those with the Manderville or Phantom Relic weapons, the stat distribution cannot be finely tuned but the priority remains the same given Warrior performs better with Skill Speed in all three legacy Ultimates compared to base 2.50 speed. Keep in mind, the Relic weapon is NOT mandatory to clear these fights. It only provides a buffer for mistakes. It’s up to the player to make the decision if the grind is worth it.
