Warrior Tank Gear and Best in Slot — Dawntrail 7.01
On this page, you will find the best gear and best-in-slot items for your Warrior Tank in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail (Patch 7.01).
Warrior Gearsets (BiS)
Warriors have a number of best-in-slot possibilities, depending on the GCD speed you wish to play with. It is worth noting that, despite each set being shown with a simulated DPS number, these simulations are theoretical and have been performed in a controlled, infinite environment that does not take into account any of the variables that you may deal with in real fights. This includes, for example, the fight you are currently doing, your current party composition, and more.
The food that you choose to use will depend on the speed of the best-in-slot set you run, so make sure to check the listed consumable for each list.
If you are currently gearing up your Warrior, you can find more information about the stat priorities and effects in our guide's melding section.
Best in Slot by Encounter
Patch 7.0 Gearsets
At the start of each expansion, Crit scaling is weaker than what it eventually ramps up to be as tiers progress. However, this doesn't strongly change the meld priority and usually only lasts until the first tier is released. Running a 2.50 GCD build is completely a comfort pick and is suboptimal as it drops item level.
Patch 7.01 Gearsets (Normal Raid Tokens)
For the first two weeks of Arcadion's Normal Raid, your buy order depends on what GCD tier you want to play at. The gear's lifespan is not certain to last through the first week of Savage release, as crafted gear's stats are yet to be revealed and overall sets are subject to change. It's important to note that boots do not drop from Turn 3 and head pieces do not drop from Turn 4. Plan accordingly to ensure you can still get all the pieces every week!
Skill Speed | Week 1 Buy | Week 2 Buy |
---|---|---|
2.50 GCD | Boots, Necklace and Ring | Chest |
2.45 GCD | Helm and Gloves | Bracelet and Ring |
2.40 GCD | Gloves, Earrings and Bracelet | Helm and Boots |
The Omega Protocol Best-in-Slot
With the arrival of Patch 6.45, the new Majestic Manderville relic weapons have customizable stats that make them BiS for both Endwalker Ultimates. Additionally, with the introduction of The Lunar Subterrane, certain pieces of iLevel 635 gear is available for a mild DPS increased compared to previous sets. Patch 6.55 has introduced the Mandervillous weapons, which have increased stat caps over the prior relic step. The stats you select do not change from the ones you've used since Patch 6.45, so it's only a minor DPS increase to obtain those weapons.
Portions of these gear sets can only be acquired by completing the Abyssos raid tier. A guide for the content can be found in the link below.
Dragonsong's Reprise Best-in-Slot
With the arrival of Patch 6.3 and the new dungeon, Lapis Manalis, dropping iLevel 605 gear, we are now able to cap item level on certain pieces to make a stronger build, averaging about 1% higher in DPS compared to previous sets. With the arrival of Patch 6.45, the new Majestic Manderville relic weapons have customizable stats that make them BiS for both Endwalker Ultimates. Patch 6.55 has introduced the Mandervillous weapons, which have increased stat caps over the prior relic step. The stats you select do not change from the ones you've used since Patch 6.45, so it's only a minor DPS increase to obtain those weapons.
Portions of these gear sets can only be acquired by completing the Asphodelos raid tier. A guide for the content can be found links below.
The Epic of Alexander (TEA) Best in Slot
- Item level 595
With that being said, the biggest difference that can be made to your gear set will be equipping a Shadowbringers Relic weapon. Due to the nature of how substats are allocated on these weapons, it enables you to utilize more substats than what’s intended on a normal weapon. Stat allocation is as follows:
- 178 Critical Hit / 143 Determination / 143 Skill Speed / 4 Tenacity
For those with the Manderville Relic weapons, the stat distribution cannot be finely tuned but the priority remains the same given Warrior performs better with Skill Speed in all three legacy Ultimates compared to base 2.50 speed. Keep in mind, the Relic weapon is NOT mandatory to clear these fights. It only provides a buffer for mistakes. It’s up to the player to make the decision if the grind is worth it.
