Answer

Well, that was a bit more challenging now wasn’t it?

The correct answer was Hellfire Citadel: The Shattered Halls. Let’s find out what our clues meant:

Clue 1: This clue had a few hidden meanings, as well as a more obvious face meaning. “The path of the race that has bled” refers to two different sets of people. The first meaning is referencing the Path of Glory, a road that leads from the Dark Portal to the foot of Hellfire Citadel. This path is made up of the bones of the Draenei that were slaughtered by the orcs during the genocide that occurred. It also references the orcs found within the Shattered Halls; the Shattered Hand clan are known for following their leader’s example and cutting off one of their hands, replacing it with a blade.

The second half of the clue references the two different styles of the building in Draenor and Outland, with one appearing greener, and the other appearing red.

Clue 2: The first part of the clue does indeed reference the two buildings in Draenor and Outland, but the second half actually tells you which one it is.

“In only one shall you find the head” refers to the fact that you will be tasked to recover the head of Magtheridon, in the basement of Hellfire Citadel in Outland. It also references the dungeon itself, referencing the idea that the “head” of the Shattered Hand, as well as the “head” of the True Horde, Kargath Bladefist, resides within the dungeon.

Clue 3: This is a bit of an odd one! In the dungeon, there is a section where a door blocks your way and you need to go through the sewers. You can, in fact, bring an engineer and completely avoid the sewers by destroying the door.

Clue 4: Out of the 3 dungeons in HFC, only one of them is locked behind a gate. The lever is used to open the door to Shattered Halls.

Could you be the next writer to join the team?
We are currently looking for a new writer to join our team and fill the role of an Overwatch guide writer. Check out the requirements and how to apply here!
      Hello everyone!
We are delighted to announce that we are looking for some fresh blood to enter our growing team behind the scenes of Icy Veins. We are looking to revamp and update our Overwatch section with the aid of a well-experienced flex player. Your role as a guide writer will be to use your extensive knowledge of in-game mechanics and the current competitive meta to efficiently detail strategies on how to play each hero.
This will be a paid position. The nature of payment will evolve as the section of the site does, with remuneration starting in the form of shared revenues based on revenues from the guides you will be writing.
In order to be considered for the position, you will need to meet the following requirements:
You should have a strong grasp of the current meta in Overwatch at all levels of play, ranging from Bronze to Grand Master. You will be writing to help players of all skill levels, so it is important to understand what is needed of a player at different skill rating brackets. You should be confident in your ability to perform in every role in Overwatch, capable of playing any hero at your current skill rating bracket. Ideally, you should be currently ranked in Grand Master, with similar final skill ratings in previous seasons. You should have a strong mastery of written English, since you will be writing guides in English. You should be confident in your passion for Overwatch, since we will expect you to stay up-to-date on any meta shifts and changes by playing regularly. To apply for the position, simply send us an e-mail at jobs@icy-veins.com. The deadline for applications is the 4th December, 2017, at 23:59 CET, which is 3 weeks from the time of publication. After the deadline, we will start to respond to candidates and organise interviews for the best applicants. You will not hear back from us before the deadline.
Good luck everyone and we look forward to reading your applications!
