hearthstone Hearthstone Tavern Brawl: Clash of the Minions

1 post in this topic

This week's Tavern Brawl is called "Clash of the Minions" and it compliments last week's. Last week, in "Lead from the Front", your hero had Taunt. This week, all minions that you play have Taunt and Charge. It is another Brawl where you make a deck using your own cards.

To some extent, everything having Taunt and Charge makes this a war of stats. My first impression is that Warrior with Bolster, Warsong Commander, and Magnataur Alpha will be a popular theme. Those cards work well with the bonuses given by the Brawl. Be careful not to expect too much of your Grim Patrons. Only minions played from your hand get the Charge ability, and so you can't chain kill your opponent's minions and fill your board with Patrons as if it were 2015 all over again.

There are plenty of other options though. Pit Snake provides a 1 mana removal spell, and bouncing minions with Youthful Brewmaster might prove to be a valid strategy. As always, you are encouraged to post your own suggestions for useful cards in the comments below.

Year of the Mammoth Arena Guide now available!
Our Arena Guide has been updated by Pesty, to fully reflect the format for The Year of the Mammoth.
As well as the new tier list for classes, the guide addresses each class in detail, so that you can get the most out of your Arena draft. It also discusses which Mana curves work well with which class, and how to pick on your opponents' likely weaknesses.
The new Tier List is shown below:
Tier 1 (Excellent): Mage, Rogue Tier 2 (Great): Paladin, Hunter Tier 3 (Good): Druid, Priest, Shaman, Warlock, Tier 4 (Average): Warrior For any feedback or questions about this guide, check out our Hearthstone General Discussion Forum, or comment in this thread.

The 97th Tavern Brawl is called 'An Ancient Recipe' and it offers players the chance to try out Journey to Un'Goro decks.
The rules of this Brawl are simple: you choose a hero and you get a premade deck with the Un'Goro deck recipe for that class. The deck archetypes are the following and we even have guides for most of them:
Quest Druid Dinomancer Hunter Elemental Mage (guide for almost identical deck here) Quest Paladin Quest Priest Quest Rogue Elemental Shaman Quest Warlock Quest Warrior All deck recipes have pretty good winning chances. This is a nice chance to play with cards you don't own and get to know the new Hearthstone expansion better.
