Thanks for including the Sidewinder part at the end on the rotation page, but can you still include the Pawn info and rotation for those who still find it viable and are good at it.

Just asked Azor - the weights won't change by much at all, so you can use essentially the same pawn string. Compared to the other setups, Sidewinders is pretty terrible right now. He might do something on it in the future, but the build performs worse than both the others, so there isn't much reason to do it, since so few people will actually play it.

is there a reason the guide places "windrunner's guidance" and "precision" over "marked for death" and "deadly aim" in the 7.2 progression tree. I guess its aimed at the meme build and multitarget purposes. Imho, I think there should be a note regarding trick shot to go for the other ones first...

Asked Azor:

The meme build is basically better in the majority of Nighthold, especially in the second half. Given the style of fight, even if you don't play meme build, the Marked Shot traits will still benefit you more due to the sheer amount of AoE.

Hello, every one! I have a question want to ask, but I want to thank Azor give us such a nice guide first!

If I got legendary waist , should I change meme build to trick shot build? But I use simulationcraft, options set enemy number = 3, the meme build dps is higher than trick shot, both builds are equip legendary waist.

there's a typo in the BM pawn string- (missing comma?) if you copy/paste it, mastery and haste don't get entered.

easy fix :)

Hi there, first of all I wanna say thanks for the great guide it helped me out a lot ^^

since I got 52 traits (54) now and concordance with it, I simmed myself recently since I got an upgrade from m+. previously before 52 Deadly grace was always recommended for pure ST fights, now it will always recommend Prolonged for my build and it always pulls ahead, I could be wrong by saying concordance has anything to do with it, but could it be possible that because of it Deadly grace might not be as strong anymore? I think it might still do more dmg in its shorter period but overal prolonged was always nearly as strong and now "better" if I go on my sims alone. the difference is minor (this is simmed dps) going from 989828 dps to 991515 dps every time Deadly vs Prolonged. Note: I also play Trick shot (gloves + boots here) and (belt + boots + other talents ofc for cleave stuff) build since I personally prefer it over meme on a general basis (plz don't hate :D) I'm just wondering if the potions are something worth revisiting or if I'm doing something wrong :p sorry for the long post but hope you can give me some feedback ^^ thanks <3

We are currently in the process of updating our guides in preparation for the release of 7.2.5 - all questions about "What is better for 7.2.5, X or Y?" will be answered in our guide updates. Thanks for your patience while we get everything completed and good luck in the new patch!

Patient Sniper has been redesigned. It now increases the damage bonus of Vulnerable Icon Vulnerable by 10% every second, meaning it is significantly more powerful towards the end of its duration, going to 110%, 120%, 130%, 140%, 150% and finally 160% damage increases. This means that Aimed Shots will do more damage if they are fired towards the end of the Vulnerable window.

In the talent section you missed to change the buff, it isn't 10% anymore ;)

It's not the most fun, but being high on DPS charts can sometimes be fun.. right? :(

I was just finally getting back into BM and liking the 7.2.5 changes for it.

But with the 50% nerfs to the MM 4pc, I'll wait and see before totally committing to switching back.

Yeah, there's likely a lot more that's going to change in the coming weeks. They really don't seem happy with how things are right now.

I've found this very helpful except for the final talent choice. Why would you base the entirety of that choice on a single item? Maybe I need a better explanation at how rotate my abilities, but I find the extra focus generated by sidewinders as well as their AOE MUCH MUCH more beneficial than trick shot and piercing shot. Arcane shot only generates 8 focus and I just don;t understand how I can max my dps while spamming that so that I can use aimed shot.

I appreciate all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes and constant tweaks to the guides-

I was wondering if the best in slot list will be up before Tomb opens? (My guild requires an updated BiS list to get loot - I've plugged in stat weights to AMR and used the BiS calculator but I'm not sure how much I trust the results, especially since I can't make it ignore legendaries and I keep getting different trinkets)

Also I'm guessing the piercing shot stat weights aren't coming back :(

I'm guessing that's the bracer/shoulder set from arcway and court of stars, with an item level of 915  (I have a set around 905, and that proc is SWEET- if you're lucky enough to get it you'll notice an immediate increase in dps)

Sorry I forget the exact name of the items.

On another note: happy to see BiS list up :) I should have been more patient- just a question- quick shot relics aren't worth taking anymore? (Does it change at all if you prefer the more mobile piercing shot playstyle?)

You base it on that item because it makes a huge difference in the viability of the two talents. Legendaries can make a huge impact on DPS (up to 10% for some) and it means it is very much worth basing your choices around those items.

A/C refers to Arcway and Court of Stars set, as Kitty mentions above. It's an incredibly valuable set that only takes up 1 tier slot :)

The new War Within Allied Races was added to the Alpha today and we already have a full look at not only all their customization options, but their dances as well, courtesy of MrGM! You can check out the Earthen's racial abilities here if you missed them earlier.
Let's start with the more dynamic feature, with both male and female dances:
And then there's big amount of customization options, as well as a size comparison with regular dwarves:

So, are we liking the new Allied Race overall? More than actual dwarves?

Here's a really cool possibility for the War Within, as a very subtle and mildly mysterious comment from Executive Producer and Vice President for WoW, Holly Longdale, may be hinting at our Warband characters getting a lot more involved in our travels!
First spotted by UlthansWrath, Longdale came up to Taliesin & Evitel at the recent London War Within Alpha press event and had a short chat about the Warband screen, when she casually said "wouldn't it be cool if those were the characters you took as your followers in your Follower Dungeons?" After the obvious confirmation from Taliesin and Evitel that, yes, yes it would be cool, she just said "hm" and that was the end of the conversation.
Obviously this isn't any sort of official confirmation, but considering this is a really awesome idea, it seems likely Blizzard are at the very least discussing it, if not already working on it.

The Warband system is already great, and this would add a lot to it for players that choose to go solo into dungeons, as it would give them even more motivation to get some great characters in their Warband - even if it was just a cosmetic option.
So, what do you think, will we be seeing this feature when the War Within launches?

Affliction is getting plenty of changes today as well, with Blizzard detailing the reasoning behind certain choices.
      Affliction (Source)
      Greetings Warlocks,
Today, we have various Core and Affliction tree changes hitting the Alpha. We want to take a moment to go a bit more in depth as to what certain changes were made and why. As a refresher, here are the goals for our Core and Afflictions that we posted last week along with some additional goals that we can dig into here.
      Class
Ensure each capstone is interesting and exciting. Reduce the amount of throughput talents, to free up utility choices. Reduce the number of ranks for talents that don’t warrant multiple ranks. Affliction
Address the tuning of Malefic Rapture in single-target and multi-target situations. Reduce complexity and the amount of active buttons that contribute to it. Erase the need to choose between a single-target or multi-target profile by adding more adaptability and flexibility. While we cannot go over every change here, we’d like to get a bit more detailed than last week’s update and explain some of the bigger changes coming in this build.
      Class Tree Throughput
We’re removing a lot of throughput talents from the class tree to allow warlocks to pick up more utility without feeling forced to take mandatory talents to be competitive. These talents aren’t compelling options when placed against utility as they will always be the right answer to have. This allows us to move that power into the specialization trees and tailor throughput-centric talents to be specific to that specialization’s gameplay.
      Malefic Rapture
In addition to becoming baseline for Affliction, we are introducing new talents that will help Malefic Rapture become the go-to spender for both single-target and multi-target situations. This should also shift Seed of Corruption to being a means to apply Corruption to multiple targets rather than what you spam in dungeons. In addition, we are redesigning Siphon Life to be friendlier to Affliction’s rotation and expect that its new design will make it easier to optimize Malefic Rapture.
      Affliction’s Adaptability
While we do want Affliction warlocks to have a preferred talent setup for single- versus multi-target situations, we don’t want it to feel like they are powerless if they are in the opposite situation. By focusing on Malefic Rapture being Affliction’s main spender and removing talents that are only valuable in multi-target situations (Soul Flame, Soul Swap, Doom Blossom, etc.), we’re hoping that the Affliction tree feels less punishing to fill out.
      Is This It?
Not at all. We expect to make changes based on feedback and our own playtesting. We want to get the ball rolling on changes we knew we want to make, so we could start the discussion early on and make adjustments before The War Within launches.
Thank you all for the continued discussions and we look forward to your feedback!
And here are the full changes from the development notes:
