Zeks Exterminatus  Now increased the damage of Shadow Word: Death by 100%

I'm hoping to gain some clarification on stat priorities, it would seem Haste is the top choice judging off what I've read but in the talent section I recall a choice based off a Crit heavy build.  Since there doesn't appear to be any more information beyond that, why would anyone prefer higher amounts of crit over haste to begin with?

Hello. Another person wanting to know more about stat priorities. I'm new to learning how to pay attention to all this stuff, and I've found IV to be very helpful in trying to learn the ropes. Checking various resources, I've seen some recommendation for Crit over Haste and Mastery for Shadow Priest. Is this something to consider? I notice most of the gear that has been dropping for me seems to keep getting Crit + somethingelse often, so I have currently more crit than Haste, by about 2% only. Currently ilvl847 and working on gearing up, and trying to figure out which direction to go. Pawn strings would also be helpful! Are they here, am I missing it, or are they not up yet? Thanks for any help!

The stat priority pre-7.1.5 was: Haste to 10k > Crit to 10k > Mastery > Haste > Crit > Int > Vers but has since changed to Haste to 12k > Mastery > Crit > Int > Vers. The reference to a crit heavy build is included for players still wearing similar gear setups to pre-7.1.5 as the talents have different synergy with different stat balances. If you still had gear with a lot of Crit on it but very little Mastery it would be unwise to use San'layn, for example.

Hey, refer to the stat priority in the guide for the best set up for raids and dungeons. Stat weights are likely to return in the future, which you can then use for Pawn if you wish.

What would the new 7.1.5 stat weights be if i wanted to input them to Pawn?

is someone else facing the same?

Some QoL changes did fix this somewhat, but SPriest was never good at DPSing trash that dies quickly in M+, so don't worry much about that. It's way better now with how Mind Sear works :)

I don't play the game, though I still pop by here for slight interest sake. . Just noticed that little error.

Looks like this was answered above, but yeah, just confirming that Mind Sear still exists and all damage increases buff the AoE wave from Mind Flay.

Artifact Trait 15 is not a error. The ability Mind Sear was removed but it still exists as a passive.

Thanks for helping to answer that :)

You can always use SimC to check what your personal weights would be - I've put in a note to Furty to see if we can get them updated in the guide, though :)

Is the legedary chart on the last page a ranking? If so why is Prydaz on lst spot. Its a hughe stat stick, the Shield is nice to cover up mistakes or relive stress from the healers. Also judging from the sims of H2P the shoulders still seam to be 2nd best (behind wrist, although i dont think they simmed sephuz yet)

Most likely an oversight on Prydaz being last after the changes to it, but the other rankings depend on the talents being used, as well as the fight at hand. Will get Furty to take a look again just in case.

Hello!

First, Thanks so much for all the work you put into helping folks. Especially ones like me scratching their head looking for some kind of last glimpse of hope for the priest class. I can't give up on it so I'm here. My ilvl is 876 and my DPS is horrible. lol. I can't seem to figure out whats going on. talent tree is the same as most people's tiers 1-3 the generic build and the rest listed straight down the left side of the tree. My crit is 4.2k and haste is 11.3k (working on getting to 12k) but my mastery is around 44%. Is that too low? Should i build more towards mastery? For example, should it be 4k crit 12k haste and like.. 60-70% mastery? Hard to juggle the stats and build more mastery without loosing crit and haste but i can work on it. Either way.. my ST dos won't go much over 185-230k .. i don't understand with my gear score. My rotation is fine based on what all i have read, so it has to be my stats I'm thinking.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the response!

About the stats, would it be recommended to have more mastery than I do? It seems with the strategy provided in the video, my dps went up about 50-60k, but still not as high as I hoped.

4.2k crit
11.3k Haste
44% mastery

Thanks!

For the gear page could you add in the specs that use shadow/blood relics. Or direct me to where it's posted

You could certainly aim for more Mastery, yes, but you will eventually hit a point where you are simply capped by gear level. If you have to sacrifice too much item level for Mastery, you'll just start losing DPS.

Sorry, not priority. What I meant is what other classes use shadow/blood relics that we as shadow priests will have to roll against. i.e. tier competition is Lock, Pally, DH and other Priests. Blood relics would be other shadow priests, probably blood DK? etc.

Ahhh, I see! The loot competition section! I'll get that updated - it should contain:

  • Blood: Blood DK, UH DK, Feral Druid, Guardian Druid, MM Hunter, SV Hunter, Assass Rogue, Outlaw Rogue, Aff Lock, Arms Warr and Prot Warr.
  • Shadow: All DKs, Havoc DH, Disc Priest, Assass Rogue, Sub Rogue, Add Lock, Demo Lock, Arms Warr.

Hope this helps :)

While the big War Within pre-patch news is certainly Dynamic Flight being added to old mounts, the system is also adding a new option for Dracthyr!
Since players will be able to switch between Dynamic Flight and regular "static" flying, Dracthyr will gain the ability to fly like a regular old flying mount, including properly just hovering mid-air and looking cool. Here's MrGM's short video of the feature, where we can see that the race still retains the Soar liftoff animation, even with static flying:

Alliance players will be able to obtain three new wolf mounts soon. Check them out!
Wolves are typical for the Horde and so Blizzard decided to give Alliance players access to some as well in the near future through the Trading Post.

Taivan's size has been increased in Patch 10.2.7, and we have a detailed side-by-side comparison to showcase the changes.
As you might recall, Blizzard reduced Taivan's size on April 9, which led to a significant uproar among the community. Blizzard later explained that this reduction was temporary and that Taivan's size would be restored with Patch 10.2.7.
So we went on the 10.2.7 PTR and compared both the live version of the mount to that coming in Dark Heart!
      Patch 10.2.6 Size

      Patch 10.2.7 Size
As you can see the goodest of good bois is finally back to its former glory!
